My car was due for some work, specifically new belts (timing/serpentine), alternator, and battery. Took it to the Toyota dealership and was quoted close to $2000. I'm not much of a car guru, but I did know I was extremely over priced. So I started looking for another mechanic to take it too, and was referred to Reyes Auto. Fast forward to today, wake up to find my car will not start at all. I called Daniel at Reyes and he immediately came to my house, jumped my car, AND drove it to the shop. Got it checked out and quoted me $1500 LESS than what Toyota did. Not only was Daniel, and his staff, extremely helpful, they got my car done immediately and communicated with me throughout the whole process. Thank you so much Reyes Auto for your work! Never take your vehicle to this place!! They lied about doing work on my car, had the audacity to charge for labor on which they never did in the first place. My car came out of the shop worse than what I took in. I had to take my car to another automotive shop to find out all the work they claimed to do was never done. I tried to get atleast a refund on labor for my car, since again the work was never done. They basically laughed in my face and told me they did all the work and would only replace the part since it was still under Warranty. Why would I take my car back to them? I usually take my whips here for annual state inspections since they are quick and no fuss. The young Reyes girl inspected my two vehicles in the less than 20 minutes. Every inspector has pointed out items that may be of concern such as tire wear pattern, non working back up light on suv lift-gate(not state requirement),. They will allow you to repair lights/wipers on your own and come back and reinspect per state law. Only reason I'm giving a 4 is going rough driving them on premises. I was quoted a price to repair my electrical fan, provided an invoice that matched the quote. When the charge went through my bank it was $15.00 more. When I called I was told it was the fee for paying with my debit card!! No signs and no one said anything when paying. Of course no one was there manager wise I left a message got no call back. 12/27/2016: They are fraud. Went to Discount TIRES because my tire light continued to come on. The tires were dated to 2007 after I was told that they were brand new by this place. I called the owner and he said, "all of the tires we sell are used". I will demand for a refund. Beware of this place! I went to Discount Tires to dispose the tires and they told me my tires dated back to 2009 although I purchased them brand new. I was disappointed to hear that they were discontinued. Next time I purchase tires, I'll check the date of manufacture. It ay sound like a good bargain when indeed it may be only fair. read more

I went in on a Monday to see if they could tow my truck there. The guy told me no problem and he would look at what I said was wrong and call me that afternoon. I never heard back. I called them when I got off work and that's when it all began. They would promise me time and time again they were going to check it out in a couple hours and get back to me and each time I had to initiate the calls because the said time would come and go. This lasted for four days!! Four days is way to long to hold a vehicle for a wire harness repair. read more

I also wrote a review on g** but I am so angry with this place. I bought a car to move gear so I can go camping it's my wife prior to PCSing to a deploying unit. My brand new SUV was . It came back with dents, heavy paint damage. Was sent back and they did the bare minimum to say they've done work. Took it to a different body shop and was quoted 1600$ damage on initial inspection. Based on other reviews they may be good at state inspections, but I got a bad deal 2 times from them. Now I'm waiting for my car to get repairedby another garage from their poor careless craftsmanship, which is shown in the pictures. I have two weeks to get my two month old car that I have only driven for about 4 days, and drive myself to KS and be ready to deploy. Great family owned automotive repair shop with a wide range of services. I tend to do most of my own minor repairs and maintenance on my vehicles, but with not enough time in the day, I sometimes need help... especially on the big jobs. I made the mistake of sending one of my kids to happy face store for an oil change. That won't happen again. The engine blew due to no oil. I've purchased four vehicles from this shop, and have been totally satisfied. All purchases made have been "As Is", but I've only ever had to make normal minor repairs due to wear and tear. Over the last 5+ years, I've purchased several new and used tires, had parts replaced, services performed, vehicles inspected, body work done, and purchased four vehicles. I allowed it to happen, but I bought a POS car that I have to fix. First off, I was told by the Owner which is Reyes that my car would be done and ready for pick up at 8pm. We'd finish the paperwork. 8pm rolls around he's already home or at the very least NOT at his shop like he said he would be. THEN!, his stupid mechanic went home with the only key to my car in his pocket. Was not told to come back to the shop, no he claimed after 30 minutes on the phone that he finally got ahold of the mechanic and said he would be in at 7, which would be an hour early. I said ok, but was pissed. I arrived 7:15; guess what? No stupid mechanic to be found, in fact no one to be found. For 40 minutes! I had to be in Austin for class at 9am, I ended up missing 1/2 my class because of their stupidity and carelessness. Now, 1 day later... back windows roll down, but not up! The car violently shakes at highway speeds, plus stopped at red lights. Tires are worthless, must buy new soon otherwise no telling what will happen. Oh but he supposedly replaced the rear passenger taillight. I wouldn't be surprised if all he did was take the reflector tape off and said it was good. He bought the car at auction it was considered totalled by insurance standards. He claimed only rearend accident and that he replaced the bumper. However, it's quite amazing how he "found" a rear bumper for this car that the car AND bumper matches up where the clearcoat is comibg off. Also, this "replaced" bumper has some damage to it, which means don't walk to close or you will scrape a good chunk of your skin off...yup it happened. Don't waste your money buying a used car from him, don't even get your car fixed, or even inspected here. read more

Don't take your vehicle there they are high priced. We decided not to have the work done because of the high $ and were charged a $90 diagnostic fee. As I recall, there wasn't any discussion about a diagnostic fee when the vehicle was taken in. Also the vehicle's interior was filthy with black oil or grease. No stars here from me. (Even though I HAD to select one) I was referred to these guys, and went in very confident. I needed an oil change for a trip I was taking with my 5 year old daughter, they were aware of this information and talked me into a used tire and a rotation since one of my tires was bald. Telling me it would be safer. 30 minutes on the road my entire car starts jumping. Not only did they put this new tire on the front, but after pulling over on the side of the freeway to switch it with the back tire of mine the tire explodes causing me to pull safely over with my child in the car and change to the spare. These guys didn't balance and rotate my tires correctly, and to top it all off, they didn't even put oil back in my engine after "changing" it. These guys screwed me over, screwed my car up, almost destroying it completely, and knowingly did all of this with the knowledge of a child being in the car. I'm disappointed and needless to say will never give service to them again. NTB for the win! read more

I would not even give one star here... I took my SUV to the owner Daniel Reyes due to over heating. He told me (after leaving my car there for 3 days and me calling daily) that the thermostat needed to be changed. Then after keeping it for another week he said now the fan clutch needed to be changed. Again me calling daily because they were not keeping me in the loop. When I went to pick up my vehicle I paid almost 500.00 and they told me it was running for 2 hrs, was driven around and had not over heated once. I left with my car. I got 15 minutes down the road and it started over heating again. So I called him and took it back. I left it there for 1 1/2 more weeks... No phone call. No update. When I would call him all he would say is " we are working on it... We are trying... I'm a good guy... I won't rip you off. I want to help you !" Still could not tell me what was wrong. It was not until my mother called with her attorney that he finally called me to say it was the head gasket. I went a picked my truck up. I had another mechanic take a second look. Come to find out he did not replace the thermostat. He took my thermostat out and never even put another in the car. So I paid for a new thermostat and the labor which was 90.00 in labor to replace my thermostat only to drive off with NO thermostat! Who does that!!!! Good guy ??? Ya right! read more

These people lie and steal with impunity, they replaced my transmission line, then it started leaking again, I took it back and they said it was a factory defect and I would have to buy another one, after keeping my car for six weeks, I paid and broke down three hours later and was stranded for fifteen hours in the middle of nowhere,, I then found out that they never changed the line, not even the first time, they only spliced Ill fitting hoses onto the existing line that didn't fit right, I paid four thousand dollars and I have the receipts but they won't do anything about it and won't talk to me, I don't know what to do,, help!!!!! read more

Very disappointed with everything about this place. We purchased a truck from Daniel Reyes, for which the transmission went out after only 150 miles of us driving it. This is after he went on and on about how this truck has been his daily driver, works great, no problems, promises and guarantees that it'll be lasting or he'll fix it, explaining that he even considered keeping it because it is so good! After breaking down on IH35, we had the vehicle towed here for repair, as Daniel promised that he'd "make it right or buy it back." His "making it right" consisted of an offer for us to go purchase a used transmission in San Antonio for $800 - and pick it up and bring it to him, then they would put that in the truck for $1100. We said no thanks, and asked that he just buy it back. He asked for a day to come up with the buy-back offer, then called us and said, "There is no offer." He would not buy it back for any amount. He at that time tried to sell us an "upgrade" - a different used truck. Feeling stuck, we agreed that we would do this IF we could take the truck for the weekend and to our mechanic and have it checked out first. He declined and said we could not do this. Obviously because that "upgrade" truck was another lemon! I feel scammed - being sold a truck on its last leg, just to be hooked in to spending more money. Lesson learned. read more

My son took his vechicle to this jerk for engine replacement. Was told it would take three days at the most. Two weeks later the vehicle was not ready. My son had to constantly call the owner and was given one lame excuse after the next. When he finally picked up the vechicle the tires were still flat. Therefore, that's confirmation that the shop did not do a test drive to ensure the remanufactured engine was working properly. My son attempted to put gas in the car after leaving Reeves with no luck. He returned to Reeves and was told the mechanic had made the hose clamp to tight and it would be fixed ASAP. Again the repair was not done in a timely manner. Next my son went to have the vehicle inspected. The shop that did the inspection informed him that a bolt around the engine was loose and was causing fluid to leak. This was something Reeves should have detected had he inspect his work. Reeves also told my son his alternator was working at 80% and was not a problem at this time. Well, the alternator went out the first time my son drove the car! Seems like Reeves or someone he does business with bids on cars at an auction. Because every week there seems to be 20 or more vehicles arriving. It's clear he needs to hire more mechanics. I would NEVER use this shop! This man hides behind caller ID, makes promises he doesn't keep, doesn't inspect his work and tells numerous lies. read more

Worst place ever. He over charged me the first time i took my truck to him and he never fixed the problem. Then he tried to charge me even more money to fix what they should have fixed in the first place and when I wouldn't allow him to continue to work on my truck he tried to pressure me to give him my truck (which my father gave me before he passed away) and then pay them 1000 dollars for a piece of crap car he had. Then without my knowledge someone recommended my mother to go there to have her car fixed and he over charged her and didn't even fix her car right, they left things loose in her car and luckily she was at a gas station when her car stopped on her. My grandmothers husband came out and fixed what they failed to do. I am so relived that nothing happens to my mom on the road because of the half ass job they did on her car I don't know what I would have done if I lost a second parent. read more

I dropped my car off here at the end of May and was told story after story about what was wrong with my car. Always giving Daniel benefit of the doubt. After all he replaced a motor for me. But, it wasn't him. I think it was the garage further back there. (J Reyes?) Anyway, here it is Oct 15th... 4 and a half months later and not a thing done. Wait, he cut off the catalytic converter and the new battery was dead oh, the car is covered in dirt and soot...PLUS, he has 300 dollars of mine up front. Still multiple stories about what was wrong with the car or what he was going to do about it. SMH. Daniel I would like my cash back before I take this further please. A garage a couple miles away from you diagnosed my car and had it back to me in a week. I am beside myself with the positive comments I've read here....these must be relatives of yours or your kids playing with the yep app. I will stand by the negative comments posted....for me they sounded like my experience. I'll call you later. I'll have it done tomorrow. I'm waiting on a special order part. I can only pray that God blesses you. As for me I will move on from this. I'll see what the court says.
