I would recommend Carol for waxing any day!! She takes her time (and its still a pretty quick appointment) and she listens to feedback. I don't know how she does it, but it's practically painless! So this is my second time with a bad experience... I went in to cut my waist length hair and get a shoulder length long bob. I am donating my hair and wanted to document the experience and the owner who did my hair would not allow me to video the cutting of my hair only a picture of before ... then when telling her I wanted ( the cut with pictures and to dye my hair just slightly darker) she said no she decides and that she wanted to add blonde highlights all over which I repeated I did not want much blond just maybe a touch around my face for baylage and subtle... fast forward when I saw my hair the first time I had to tell her that I now looked blonde and to please change it back to what it was(couldn't bring myself to take a picture, it was that bad).She was very nice about this but kept saying I should have shown her a picture (which I did) and told her sooner ‍ she put a dark toner in the cover up the blonde but kept pieces by my face which were supposed to be a natural looking baylage... you guessed it they did not look good or natural at all.. I just accepted at this point after spending hours there and wanting to go home. I bought a box of dye at Walgreens and fixed the blonde around my face. But now I noticed my right side is longer than my left side in length and need to go get his fixed at another salon all in all and $112 later not including what it will cost to go cut my hair even I am frustrated and will not be returning here again. read more

I normally Only Yelp a review if it's a good one But... making and having them keep your appointment here is the worst I've ever experienced. First time I called, the receptionist told me a stylist was going to give me a call back to come in Just for a consultation...Never happened. A week later I call back and just went ahead and booked an appointment for a trim. Just a trim! Told the receptionist I work an hour away, can Only do Saturdays. She gets me in for the next Saturday, two days away, and I'm just so happy to have found a good reputable place near me. Rescheduled things at home and off I go...only to get there to find it she booked me for Friday...yesterday! And she told me on the phone it was with one stylist but wrote down another! Then looked at me like I'm the crazy one when I asked for the stylist she told me. How else would I had known there was someone there with that name if she hadn't of told me. Then she says she'll try to get me in with another stylist that day... for a trim!! I hit her managers name and left. I don't know if the stylist are good or not because I never made it past the front desk! What a waste of time. read more

I absolutely love this place. I get my haiir done with Tara and my nails/pedicure with Tracy...best hair, nails and pedicure I've ever had done! Tara is great and always ove the way my hair looks when she's done with it. Tracy is the best manicurist I've ever been too and there are a few people that can confirm that. Jinnifer, my nail girl is the best manicurist ever...worth every penny you spend on yourself. She is an amazing artist and can duplicate anything you want on your nails. Let her know when you book an appt that you want nail art and she'll accommodate you, however respect her artistic talent and pay her accordingly in addition to your generous tip. The price you pay at this salon is double what it is at Supercuts.. they say you get what you pay for?.. so wrong!.. I get far better haircuts from Supercuts than this place.. this was my 3rd try and all bad but this one is the worst ever haircut.. the stylist not only left one side longer she botched my bangs and didn't trim all?.. she left long strands uncut in back.. sad part is I always tip good and for only a haircut.. I have been going to Christopher Michaels for many years because of the most amazing professional hair stylist. Steve delivers attentive skill, precision, and care to each hair style he creates long or short. He is up on fashion trends, will help you brain-storm styles and colors if you are exploring, or can also listen to exactly what a client wants. You can see the dedication to his profession and efforts that he exerts every time he is on the floor no matter how hectic the day can be. I am glad to have found him as a stylist. The ambiance, environment, and facilities are kept presentable, no issues there. Every stylist seems to be focused on their client and also present themselves professionally every time I am there. The only minor things I would complain about if anything is that the front desk has some wonky new hours of answering phones which can make it challenging sometimes when trying to make an appointment and also if you like hot coffee ( as opposed to old, cold coffee), do not book your appointment in the later part of the day. -Or- the solution could always be bring your own coffee from home. This salon is very average boarding outdated. Am I surprised for Lancaster? No, not really. But based on the Yelp reviews, I thought I would give it a chance. I've been spoiled with salons that are much more upscale and modern which make you feel like you're getting the type of service that you expect to get. But, I'm new to the area, so thought I would give my local salon a chance. There's nothing worse than when your stylist doesn't give you the impression that they have been keeping up with the latest techniques and styles. I will leave the stylist's name out of this review because she was very nice, but just didn't feel like I could do more than the average services with her. The salon itself is very very dated - very 90s. Felt a bit dingy and products they used are mediocre. I hate to sound like most folks in this area but I'm gonna have to hit the Valley to get the services I really want. read more

Go see Carol for all of your eyebrow needs! I had a horrible experience down in San Diego where the end of my right eyebrow was pretty much waxed right off. On top of that, my brows were uneven and I forced myself to grow them out for about three months so my next esthetician would have something to work with and shape properly. I decided to book an appointment here last fall and put my faith in Carol and let me say I was thrilled. The end of my right brow is still growing, but she shaped them and they always look wonderful. I am new to the area and was looking for my new, go to salon. I have long hair and was so scared of having someone butcher my hair or cut too much off. She listened to all my wants and concerns. I have been going with Steve for close to a year, never had a problem. The last couple months his work has deteriorated and attitude has changed. I went a couple days ago and he had a pissy attitude because I rescheduled due to conflicting schedule. Never thought that he would butcher my hair because of the disagreement, but he did. The cut was uneven and the color looked like a four year old throwing paint against the wall. It was so uncalled for and unprofessional. I have long hair and now I had to cut it short. He could at least refused to do my hair instead of butchering it just because he was mad. Also, he overcharged me. Please be careful. He is not right in the head, so unprofessional and very vindictive. Also, there's a lady at the salon that was going to fix the damage Steve made to my hair, she had told me that she talked to Steve and was told that he was mad at me and that was the reason for damaging and butchering my hair. I've been here twice for hair cuts and styling and twice for manicures. I have been happy with the services I've received. I requested an unusual manicure for Halloween and got exactly what I'd hoped for (multi-color, decorated long natural pointy nails). The hair cut and style was also done very well. I use to get acrylics back in the day (very long and bright), but my 40s too-busy for that lifestyle frankly had me in tatters 95% of the time, trying to make it not so horrible 2% of the time and looking absolutely horrible because it was chipped the other 3%. I was going on a business trip and absolutely had to do something with my nails. They were decent enough length and shape, but I knew that as soon as I got on the plane they would become not so nice and if I painted them the situation would only be worse in a day as they would chip. I called my friend and she didn't even let me finish my tale of woe "Go to Tracy and get gels-30 minutes- done for weeks." No lie. I really didn't want to cut my nails off and then have them permanently damaged by superglue and acrylics, but the gels had the same effect of keeping them strong (no breaking) and sleek (no chipping). I got hooked. When Tracy takes off the gel, my natural nails are there and I could walk away right then, but why would I want to if I could walk out a little while latter with worry free perfection for another couple weeks? It gives me that carefree feeling of having just picked up my best outfits from the cleaners...I'm ready for anything! Tracy is good at giving suggestions and taking direction. All in all, I have never respected someone in this type of industry more. She is very friendly and will talk if you want to talk...or not, but most notably, she is a very hard worker. I bet you couldn't get her to sit still and be unproductive if you paid her $500! My schedule is very busy, but this woman has got it down to a rhythm and the best part is that if you need her she is always there for you. I constantly get people asking me where I get my nails done. While I always share, I'm sure Tracy hasn't gotten any business out of it because I live at work and work is in Santa Monica which is too big out of the way. It's sad because there are literally hundreds of salons in that region, but everyone is so new or so temporary or just so who cares that apparently no one is doing it right. The very first time I got them (for the business trip) , I ended up having nearly the same color of gels as a young co-worker (charcoal grey). I raved "don't you love them" and she said "it kinda hurt" What? Hurt? How could that possibly hurt? Tracy sighed and shook her head...apparently there a lot of unseasoned "professionals" out there. The other girl's painful nails actually did come off in chunks and looked terrible after a week, but mine were still kicking after 3 (minus the nakedness at my cuticles). The bottom line is that if you are thinking about a nail solution and are in the area, "Go to Tracy and get gels-30 minutes-done for weeks." Try it and if you don't love it, no worries because your natural nails are not thrashed. Yes, you have to take the time, but it is the same as polishing your presentation or pressing your suit...it is the little things that will make you feel great, present well and give you the edge. read more
