My wife and I recently went to this Chubby Cattle in Little Tokyo, it was my second Chubby Cattle experience, the first one was in Pleasanton, CA in the Bay Area. We made a reservation for a Friday night and we didn't have to wait too long after the we showed up for our reservation. We ordered the silver All You Can Eat (AYCE) package which is one of least expensive one but in our opinion met our needs. We had 90 minutes for our dining experience, we could order by tablet and could order 10 items every 5 minutes. - We ordered as much Wagyu as we could, I really recomment the O-Toro but warn you that as the fattier pieces of cow the grill flares up a lot. - We had their corn and durian cheese which were interesting, the durian is mashed and you can taste the durian. - We had the wagyu and different raw fish nigiri or in carpaccio. The raw fish seemed pretty fresh. We tried avoiding the things with a lot of rice so not to fill ourselves up too quickly. We mainly ordered Wagyu which seemed good quality. It was pretty crowded but not too loud. I do like this place had a heavy HAVC/hood, it didn't mean we didn't smell like bbq afterward but it helped some. Our tablet orders seemed to be come around pretty quickly. Our server did come by to check how we were doing, also kept us informed of our time limit (but not a way that made us feel rushed), and of course the server tried to get us to get a paid membership. - Paid memberships get you more perks but in my experience like most other memberships is only useful if you go the Chubby Cattle or their affilates a lot. While it was good, it's probably more of a special occassion thing, so I didn't opt in for the membership. We left very full and very satisifed.

Great first experience at Chubby Cattle in Little Tokyo, LA. We opted for the Diamond Tier and signed up for the membership but looking back, the Gold Tier probably would have been enough for us, but we enjoyed being able to try all of the premium offerings under the Diamond Tier. We made sure to take advantage of all the special items until we reached the limit. The quality of the meat was top tier and the exceptional service made the experience even better. My kids loved the Wagyu Foie Gras Nigiri and the Wagyu Uni Caviar Nigiri, both of which are part of specialty items which surprised me because they normally don't eat stuff like that. While you can definitely taste the difference between the limited special items and the unlimited menu offerings, everything we tried was delicious. In addition to the meats, they also offer sushi and a variety of hot dishes. If it's your first visit, I recommend taking full advantage of the menu and trying as many items as possible. A few things to keep in mind: There is a strict 90-minute dining limit. You can order up to 10 items at a time. Diamond Tier special items are limited to two servings per person. At this location, you can join the live waitlist through Yelp if you're within a 5-mile radius. The price person could be intimidating but it's well worth it. Can't wait to come back again.

Just went back for a friends birthday. Kevin provided amazing service. He was very nice accommodating allergies and double checking with us. Food was excellent!

Kevin is THE GOAT!!! Excellent service and brilliant recommendations. Made our night great and definitely will be coming back to request him as our server.

Our first time at Chubby Cattle! My husband took me for my birthday celebration. We had a fantastic experience and our service was top tier. Thank you to Ru who made our first experience here amazing! We got the membership and will be coming back ASAP! Thank you again to Ru who took such good care of us.

Our experience at Chubby Cattle was fantastic! I came with a party of 6 and it was all of our first times, so we didn't really know what to expect. Our server, Troy, was extremely attentive and patient as he explained how everything worked. He was an amazing server, 10/10! The quality of the meat was fantastic as well. I don't think we had a single bad item. Definitely a must visit!!!

My partner and I are pretty much regulars at the Chubby Cattle franchises. It was our 3rd year anniversary so of course we had to celebrate at Chubby Cattle! Food: Always amazing here! The day we visited, the salmon nigiris and the a5 wagyu striploin was our favorite! The otoro was also so yummy! Service: As always... incredible! Today our server was Jonny P. and he probably has to be our favorite server so far! My Chubby One Membership ended the month before so I had a couple of questions before renewing it and Jonny P. was absolutely so helpful! The whole time, he was going above and beyond and we made the nicest small talk with him :) Ambiance: Great! From everything inside to the little stations, everything was clean and tidy as always! Overall, love coming here monthly and we can't wait to be back!

First time trying Chubby Cattle in Little Tokyo with my friend and it was pretty good! This place is very expensive but that is to be expected given the quality of meats (wagyu) being served. The interior is clean and the seating is well spaced out. We also loved our server Esther, she did an amazing job serving us and giving us the best experience we could have!! Food: 5/5 -all you can eat wagyu, with tasty fatty cuts and fresh meat -my top picks: 1. Wagyu foie gras or wagyu uni caviar raw (special dishes - gold tier) -incredibly tender, meat is soft and has a pleasant umami taste -can only get 1 per person (at gold tier) but it was the best dish on the menu! 2. Beef tongue -if you don't mind eating beef tongue, this cut of beef is thinly sliced and not too fatty -it also isn't chewy at all, great to balance out all the other fatty cuts of meat 3. A5 wagyu otoro thick cut (gold tier) -has a nice beef flavor to it, goes really well with the salt that they offer Most of the other meats were pretty decent too, but I would not recommend the tender meat (personally). I did not think it was tender at all. Service: 5/5 -Our server Esther helped us explain the whole ordering process and was very knowledgeable about the different meat options available -Esther also helped us cook the meats the first time around and gave us tips for grilling the meat (and how it differs from KBBQ) -Esther also gave us great reccomendations and was very attentive and kind Price: -We got the gold tier, which costs around $80 per person -Price can be lower if you pay for the membership ($28/year), and membership price can apply to two people! -overall decently worth it for the price if you get the membership -note for membership: it will automatically renew unless you choose to change it Critiques: -We had to wait over 2 hours to get seated (because of a clogged drain, not because the space was busy) -The vanilla hand crank for the ice cream machine was broken :( -The restaurant limits you to 90 minutes of eating time, and you can only order in the first 70 minutes. We thought we could use a little more time

The wait here can be brutal--almost 2 hours when I went. If you want to avoid that, definitely come right at 5 PM when they open. As for the food, it's very rich and decadent overall. They offer four tiers, and we went with the Diamond tier since I can't eat as much as I used to. I'd recommend getting their membership ($28/year). You get $10 off, can add one extra person to your party, and also receive a free meal around your birthday (the day before, day of, or day after), so it easily pays for itself. Each location seems to have its own specialty and pricing. This particular spot is smaller, and honestly, I prefer the Monterey Park location--shorter wait times, faster service, and they serve lobster tails instead of lobster rolls. Here, the lobster roll was disappointing--mostly bread, served cold, and lacking in lobster. One dish I'd skip is the A5 Wagyu uni caviar nigiri. It tasted off and nothing like fresh uni. Highlights for me: A5 short ribs Ribeye Strip loin After all the rich meats, I liked switching it up with their cooked items. The chicken wings were amazing--piping hot and crispy (I ordered a second round). The calamari was also excellent. The unagi over rice had a perfect balance of rice to eel. A few downsides: The lighting is quite dim, making it hard to see the food clearly (and tough for photos). The drink bar is limited, though I do like being able to grab canned sodas. The milk tea needs work--too milky and lacking tea flavor. On the plus side, the matcha cake was a great dessert to end the meal.

It was my first time coming here and I was very impressed with the atmosphere. The outside is very dirty and crowded which is not the restaurant's fault, but it did make coming inside and finally sitting down to eat a nice break from the commotion outside. The grills are metal mesh which made the food nice and crispy. We tried the silver tier and ended up signing up for the membership in case we come back - the perks seemed well worth it. Minus one star because my food didn't come near the end and it seemed like our waitress only gave us an hour to eat on our timer so we were rushed but also had to wait for some dishes that never came. I highly recommend getting the gyoza and burger or whatever you want that takes longer first and then order lots of meat because that is much quicker. I liked pairing the mocha cake with the vanilla ice cream. Very refreshing!

Slim V.

Had to come back for the second time since the first time was amazing !! I will say the the servers here are so cool and friendly Jonny helped us out today he was awesome We ordered diamond tier and let me tell you the food does not disappoint - all the meats are top tier - the ambiance is clean and everything you want a Korean bbq to be

Special prime cut!

Esther was amazing walking us through our first time here. The food was AMAZING and I think ordering by tablet is so neat.

Chubby Cattle Reviews in Other Languages

Ask the Community - Chubby Cattle

Any tree nut or peanut allergy foods I should know about before going?

You can order to your needs, I would not order the sesame oil as most if not all restaurants cut with mystery oil. So no sauced meats either for you. Just order unseasoned meats and tolerable sides. Enjoy.

Are solo diners allowed?

Yes, make sure you order your sides first

Are membership required to dine here?

It's not required. You just pay a non-member price.

Hello , is this buffet style , bbq on your own way, ? If so , how much per person?

No it is not a buffet. You order off an iPad and the meat is brought to your table for you to cook. Pretty cool technology for ordering. $50 per person was the level we purchased. You can level up from there. All soda was included as well as ice…

Do you accept cash as payment?

Yes

Is it still possible to dine in without reservation? Couldn't get one for the date and time we want.

Yes, it is possible but depending on the day and time, the wait may be long

I noticed no reservations can be made after 4:30pm on Saturdays, I was curious what the wait is like on average if a group was looking to have dinner around 6pm (how early should a group arrive?)?

1-2 hour wait. You can join the waitlist if you're in a 2-mile radius from the store!

What does "1 from 6" and "2 from 6" mean on the menu? Is it saying that for the upgrade you get to pick 1 portion of the 6 meats listed, or is it unlimited of the 1 meat you pick, or you get 1 of the 6 at a time? And how much meat is that "1"?

The "upgraded" selection is only one portion, or if selected, two, however, the rest of the meat selection is AYCE.

When do Chubby Cattle reservations open?

Can we do walk in?

Yes, you can walk in.

Do you serve liqour or wine?

No liquor license as of 2/10/2026

How much is the silver tier for New Year's Eve?

58$

I just joined the annual membership and I want to know if you HAVE to go on your actual birthday or do you have 1 extra day before your birthday and 1 day after your birthday? Also does this apply to all locations of Chubby Cattle?

actual birthday. unless its nft membership is by location

If we have couple of people in the group that have the membership, can we use the birthday discounts on one of the members and, at the same time, get the regular member discounts for the other members that also have the membership?

As local membership only covers 2 people, you'll need multiple local memberships to cover a table with more than 2 guests anyway. You SHOULD be able to use the other person's local membership for 2 more guests on the tab. They just both have to…

What time is last seating and last call on weekdays and weekends?

On Sunday - Thursday, last seating is at 9:00 PM and last call is 9:30 PM. For Friday and Saturday, last seating is 10:00 PM and last call is 10:30 PM.

Is there a separate lunch menu price or is it the same price as dinner?

At this time, there is no separate lunch menu price. The only menus are the silver, gold, and diamond set menus. As far as I'm aware, the only Chubby Cattle that offers a lunch and dinner price is Rosemead at this point in time.

What are the amenities of a diamond tiers? in MP , they bring us a box with limited items and some unlimited. Drinks inlcuded ,is some part of the wagyu unlimited?

How to joint the membership?

If you're asking about member pricing, you can ask, during a dining experience, to purchase the local membership. Not sure if it's still available at the moment since they're planning to merge memberships on the app soon. If it's not available to…

What is the parking situation? Where to park?

There are 2 lots behind the building where the restaurant is located. One lot charges $3 per 15m with daily max of $20. The other lot is likely a little cheaper, but I haven't used that lot in years, so don't quote me in that 😅

When do expect to open in little Tokyo?

It was open this evening!

Their ramen noodles are always cooked perfectly (I like them a little firm) and their broths are super flavorful, their eggs cooked perfectly. I usually enjoy their spicy or black garlic broths which add extra kicks. Daikokuya can be busy throughout the day, but there servers and kitchen staff work hard to turn around orders and tables relatively quickly. Anytime is a good time for ramen from Daikokuya.

To be clear, you really can't go wrong with any of the restaurants on this street and I recommend just going with whichever one has the shortest wait when you show up. Thankfully we only had to wait about 20 minutes and got a table inside. There were 6 of us and they made us squeeze into a booth built for 4 which was a little annoying but we made it work. I ordered their signature Daikoku Ramen which was very flavorful and filling, just wish there had been more meat! My husband got the poke bowl with salmon and tuna which is a great dish for those on the protein grind. Service was mixed, they brought some dishes out immediately and then others in our group had to wait longer to get their food. Overall food was tasty and I would go back.

The pacific oysters are a good size and I really enjoyed the yuzu-kosho ponzu sauce on it. The spicy tuna crispy rice have a good amount of spicy tuna on top & I loved how crispy they made the rice underneath. The Kodo trio comes with uni, toro, & wagyu and the Toro sampler comes with o-toro, chu-toro, akami. All of these handrolls were phenomenal & just left you wanting more. The Wagyu katsu you cook on a hot stone at the table which I liked as an interactive dish. The Wagyu cheeseburger was dripping with juice but still had those crunchy edges. The Uni pasta was beautiful & delicious. The Chimichurri prawns I could eat multiple plates of- the shell comes sliced down the middle so you just have to peel it off. For dessert we ordered the Kodo basque cheesecake & Miso chocolate torte. I love a basque cheesecake & the sesame crumble added great texture. The miso chocolate torte made me wish I ordered my own. Everything from start to finish was amazing, it's hard to pick favorites. Parking- valet $13

Some of my favorites included the buttery Hokkaido scallop, creamy Hokkaido uni, rich bluefin tuna, sweet Chilean king crab, delicate ocean trout, and the absolutely incredible nodoguro (blackthroat seaperch), which literally melted in my mouth. The kinmedai (golden eye snapper), sea bass, yellowtail, and multiple preparations of Japanese horse mackerel highlighted just how diverse and flavorful seasonal seafood can be. One of the most memorable surprises was trying shirako (fish milt) and shirasu (Japanese whitebait). They're ingredients you don't find at most sushi restaurants, and they really added to the authenticity of the experience. The meal was beautifully balanced from start to finish, beginning with seasonal appetizers and sashimi, flowing seamlessly through each piece of nigiri, and ending with tamago and a comforting bowl of miso soup. Every bite was thoughtfully prepared, allowing the natural flavors of each ingredient to shine. Nothing was overpowered with sauces or unnecessary garnishes. It was simple, elegant, and executed with incredible precision. The chefs were meticulous, and it was a pleasure watching each course come together right in front of us. The staff provided attentive service without making us feel rushed, creating a relaxed and intimate atmosphere that made the entire evening even more enjoyable. The YAWARAGI omakase is certainly a splurge, but it's an experience that's well worth it if you appreciate high-quality Japanese cuisine. Between the impeccable service, beautifully curated courses, and outstanding seafood, this was easily one of the best omakase experiences I've had. I left already looking forward to coming back and trying one of their premium omakase offerings.

The omakase was excellent--very fresh fish, thoughtful pacing between courses, and a nice balance of raw and cooked dishes. Everything felt well considered without being overwhelming. ENJOY!
