Good Southern Food! Awesome service with a nostalgic vibe. My friends have been telling me to try this place but they're always so busy. Tonight the parking lot was full and we stopped anyway and We were immediately seated. So don't let the parking lot stop you from checking them out!

We stopped by because it was near our BnB and it was a great choice! I had the catfish special and was able to sub the coleslaw for fried okra and everything was great. The hush puppies are a cornbread base and some of the best hush puppies I've had. My husband got the smash burger with everything on it and he loved it. The staff is also friendly and know the menu so they are able to give actual recommendations based on your preferences! It does get fairly busy so don't be surprised if there's a wait for groups but it's well worth it.

Ok this place was ON POINT. If you are looking for local vibe, Southern cooking, and reasonable prices, this is the spot. We popped in while on vacation and were welcomed warmly. The service was great, the food was plentiful and delicious, and they made my daughter's day by having rubber ducks for sale at the check out counter! The Mac and cheese was a highlight on my plate along with the meatloaf. I will not pass through town without stopping here again.

Chubby's is a local gem! Secluded just a few miles off the main parkway, you'll be greeted with excellent service and whopping plates of food, all inside a super casual dining atmosphere, all with great pricing. I started with deep fried deviled eggs, which were egg-cellent, then went for the pork tenderloin sandwich and sadly I was defeated by this behemoth. My tactic was to carve all the edges emerging from the bun and try to eat just the bun portion, still couldn't finish it, and I had at least 3 massive cuts of breaded pork to take home!

It has a real down home feel. They have someone thing for everyone. Everything is cooked to ordered. We started off with deep fried deviled eggs. My wife had the Beef Stroganoff. While I had the House Smash Burger. The stroganoff is served in a wide, shallow bowl that showcases the sauce's glossy sheen and the generous scatter of sautéed mushrooms. Steam carries a rounded, savory bouquet: beef-forward notes, toasty browned butter, and the faint acid of a finishing touch -- likely a splash of vinegar, wine, or lemon -- that hints the sauce will be bright rather than cloying. The service was an immaculate 11/10! The ambiance is amazing especially if you're a Gen X person. Don't take it too seriously. The food is way over the top and that's the complication. Everything is taken to the nth degree and that's not always great. The deep fried deviled eggs are good but a challenge texturally. The other food was good but a little too much all around. A little overwhelming. Still great and a place I would certainly recommend.

Chubby's has been our go-to tradition every time we vacation in Tennessee for the past 4 years, and we've never had a bad meal here. The food is always incredible, and the service is phenomenal. The moment you walk in, you're greeted by a cozy, homey vibe that immediately makes you feel welcome. It's the kind of place where you can relax, enjoy your meal, and really soak in that warm, local Tennessee atmosphere. The service here is next-level. Our drinks magically appeared without us ever having to ask, and even waitresses who weren't serving our table stopped by to make sure everything was perfect and that we were enjoying our food. It feels like everyone on staff genuinely cares about your experience--they're attentive without being intrusive, and it makes the meal feel extra special. We started with the Fried Green Tomatoes--lightly breaded with a nice peppery kick, and the tomatoes themselves were firm and flavorful. Honestly, one of the best versions I've had! For my entrée, I tried their new Smash Burger, and it completely exceeded my expectations. The beef was moist, perfectly seasoned, and topped with their signature Chubby's sauce that really took it to another level. Hands down, the best burger I've ever had! Their onion rings were delicious as always, but I could only manage one since the burger filled me up so much. My husband went with his all-time favorite: the Fried Pork Tenderloin Sandwich. When I say huge, I mean HUGE--you could easily make two or three sandwiches out of it. The breading is light and crispy, clinging to juicy, tender pork that keeps us coming back every time. It's located along Dolly Parton Parkway and has a large sign out front. It's easy to find and get into the smaller than expected parking lot. Still, there was plenty of parking with wide traffic lanes to get into and out of the spaces. Leaving the parking lot can be problematic, especially if you want to turn left at rush hour. Still, there are clear sight lines, so take your time and you won't have any issues. There are handicapped parking spaces right in front of door. Access is easy, although you need to go around several statues/ art pieces which certainly make a fun and interesting walk into the restaurant. We were greeted as soon as we walked in and seated right away. Seating is a mix of tables and booths. We had a booth near the back but there is plenty or natural and artificial lighting throughout the seating area. Our server took our drink order as we were seated. The drinks came quickly and we asked for more time to look over the extensive menu. We were ready in a few minutes and our server came back without prompting. Our appetizers took about five minutes to arrive. The fried deviled eggs are amazing. The egg white part is deep fried with a thin crispy coating, then the typical egg yolk mix is added. The appearance and taste combination is excellent, and this appetizer is a must order. We also tried the fried pickles as one of our dining party is a connoisseur. The pickles are cut as spears instead of chips. The extra thickness seems to allow for more pickle flavor and some moistness compared to the typical chips. The accompanying dipping sauce was pleasantly spicy and an excellent accompaniment to the pickles. Our connoisseur pronounced them some of the best she has eaten. The Reuben sandwich was a last minute decision and turned out to be an excellent choice. The corned beef was flavorful and moist without being greasy, the sauerkraut had a slight tang, and the thousand island dressing gave the right balance of sweetness. The marbled rye bread was toasted and held up to the weight of the sandwich. This was an unexpected delight. The burger was another hit. The meat was fresh, moist, and flavorful, the toppings fresh and crisp, and the bun soft without falling apart. The sides of fries and onion rings were cooked perfectly and were provided in a generous amount. Our server was attentive without being intrusive. It is obvious the staff has a lot of experience and knows how to treat customers right. We even met the owner who was checking on customers and took the time to talk to everyone. Chubby's is a must-stop location any time you are even near the area. Treat yourself and take the time to stop for a meal. You deserve it.

Good local diner with down home food. It's not a fancy place, and doesn't try to be, but provided quality food at affordable prices. Burgers are really good and their country fried steak was excellent per the wife. Staff was very friendly and restaurant appeared to be clean. Inside you'll find typical wood booths and tables. Would definitely visit again.

This past week we took a drive over to Sevierville for some much needed shopping, part of our plan included a lunch stop as well. We pulled up the local spots and saw the high marks for Chubby's - plan made. We found the spot fairly easily and pulled in the parking lot. The first flag for us was the front of the building, it was a bit dated and in need of some freshening up. We tossed caution to the wind and stepped inside. The dated feel continued as we moved into the restaurant, as we were seated the downhill slide continued. You know when you walk on a floor and your shoes kind of stick to it ? Yep it happened. The table covering was older plastic and in need of replacement, the booth we sat in had long cracks on the front of the bench seat - not a good sign. At this point our experience tells us to go with the safest pick from the menu available - we did, cheeseburger and fries. The food came and looked OK, I must say it was hot and ready to eat. I was a bit disappointed no pickle on the loaded burger, not a show stopper but not what I was used to. The meal was average at best - had better many times. My partner opted to use the RR prior to departing - not impressed was the feedback from her. If you are looking for an average greasy spoon with homestyle cooking this could be a stop for you, for us it was a one and done. read more

This place was pretty alright. The location was easy to get to, parking was plentiful, there were cool statues out front, and the food was solid. The service was pretty good. The servers are very nice and have no problem going over the menu with you. It was clear to me that they have a large local base of patrons. You know how when you get a chicken fried steak one side is crispy and sometimes the other side is soggy? This was 100% not the case! The steak was fantastic! Mom wanted liver and onions I wanted anything, it was almost 1 pm and all I had was coffee. It was girls day out, mom drives.( I drive all week to work) She mentioned her and her pals came here, apparently it's a locals place hidden from the tourists yay! Traffic was major, because of the leaves turning in the Smokys. Put never fear moms a expert backroader! We were greeted as we entered and sat down...told that days special was breakfast all day, and a burger. Mom was disappointed but ordered the burger. It was huge! I had a delightful breakfast cooked to perfection, 2 eggs over med country sausage( red pepper flakes in good kick.) Country fries crispy and delish.And a huge perfection of a home made biscuit. The service was spot on, not fancy, clean and ran like a well oiled machine. A bit dark inside but doable. I like light. read more

There's a certain smell in a restaurant that lets you know that the food is going to be wonderful. Chubby's is that kind of place. Order the onion rings. They are the best I've ever had. Nice home style cooking location. Burgers are great, although sloppy at times depending on the toppings. Normally have a couple specials daily. Todays were southern fried pork chops. Wife did the southern fried chicken with sides. I took the burger and fries. Patio area looks like it would be good when either is good. read more

If you are looking for a delicious home cooked meal with phenomenal hospitality this is an absolute must. With pigeon forge and gatlenburg being home to so many attraction restaurants with mediocre food and tourists prices this was such a break. Huge portioned meals priced around 8.99 to14.99, home cooked flavor with grandma hospitality this is now at the top of my list when it comes to dining in Tennessee. Looks very authentic, had a southern home cooking feel from the moment I entered. Waitress was very attentive, friendly, and quick. Probably the best biscuit sandwich I had during my week long stay. Only disappointment was the syrup on the French toast. Would definitely stop in next time in this area. Breakfast biscuit sandwich is the way to go! read more

My first trip to the new location, stopped in to get a vegetable plate to go-My order was AWESOME! I had the mashed potatoes with white gravy, collared greens, green beans, and cornbread and it was very tasty just like your Momma would make back in the day! Very nice and attentive young lady working the register and seating people and taking to go orders-she was slammed busy and very welcoming. I usually go to the old location because of Jay and the other nice lady that works there and it is much closer to my home. I know that when I go out I want good food and pleasant service and I got both today at the new location. I will be back soon. Also wanted to add that Bobby is very pleasant and hard working as well. read more

This place came highly recommended to us ... while visiting Gatlinburg . We came for dinner and the deep fried deviled eggs were out of this world!! Please try them! We saw a video review of Chubby's Famous Burger that prompted our visit when we were in the area for a few days at Dollywood and it did not disappoint! Service and food were both amazing. My husband got the pork mountain which was massive! The tenderloin was bigger than his head and then piled high with pulled pork, the man who never needs a to go box left from lunch with enough to feed him dinner too. I had a simple bacon cheeseburger with onion rings and the flavor was amazing. One of our boys tackled the Famous Burger which was again a mountain of food, and our other went with the Philly cheesesteak with no complaints, with our littlest and pickiest eater sticking with a grilled cheese and fries. And don't skip the dessert! We wanted to try them all but ended up with apple crisp, banana pudding, and pumpkin cheesecake. The apple crisp was unlike any we've had before. There was a flaky, sweet topping with a caramel like flavor that my husband LOVED. Of course, banana pudding is always a favorite in our house and it did not disappoint. I was skeptical when the boys chose the pumpkin cheesecake but it was perfect! Our server Stephanie was great, as was everyone else there. This place is definitely not fancy but it was very obviously clean. We stumbled across it online and since the reviews were so good we had to go. We were seated immediately by a super friendly waitress the place was busy but not over crowded. Our waitress was very attentive and just plain friendly. Drinks we kept full the entire meal appetizers came out hot and fast! Fried green tomatoes were the bomb! We got the Chubby burgers and they were massive and so dang good. After a week in the Sevierville area, our family stopped in Chubby's for lunch. This place is a relief from the more touristy restaurants. First time here. I read the reviews and figured it would be good..... I'll start with the good. I had a Philly Cheese with fries. the sandwich was delicious. Tender and juicy VERY GOOD. The fries.... I asked for golden brown but didn't get that. They were ok but I wish the cook would have left them in a bit longer. My wife.... She ordered a grilled cheese sandwich and was served two pieces of toast with one piece of barely melted Kraft singles in it. DISGUSTING and UNACCEPTABLE. A grilled cheese sandwich is supposed to be GRILLED not toasted. It was dry. I told the waitress and she apologized and took it off the bill. So all-in-all Be careful what you order. They do not serve beer or wine either, so if that's what you want you won't find it here. We may go back and try the breakfast. I definitely would get the Philly Cheese steak again. We have heard all the reviews and decided to give this place a try this evening. Nice clean restaurant and a very friendly waitress. They had live music this evening of an older gentleman singing songs with his guitar. I had the Famous Burger which had pulled pork BBQ on top of the hamburger. It was good, way too big to try to eat by holding it in your hands. Definitely a knife and fork burger. The BBQ was good and the burger was good, but for me personally, it was just too much on a bun to be able to fully enjoy. The onion rings were phenomenal ! My wife had the cheese burger with tater tots. Each burger is hand pattied and has great flavor. Tater tots were good as well. The only reason that I am giving this 4 stars instead of 5 is that in my honest opinion, it was a good meal, but just not one of those "While you are in the Smoky Mountains, this is a place you have to eat at." No noticeable salt. No spice. No personality. It tasted like the chef had just completed community service at a nursing home and was legally prohibited from possessing a salt shaker. They lacked the fresh, juicy flavor you expect from a steakhouse. We also ordered our steaks medium, but they all came out closer to medium-well. On a positive note, the potato soup was very good and the salad was also enjoyable. However, the steaks were the main reason we chose to dine there, and they were very disappointing--especially considering the cost. I really wanted to love this place, but based on our experience, I'm not sure we would order the steaks again.

Service was impeccable, and the music playing from the owner's personal playlist was nostalgic for me as someone from New York. It gave the whole place a really fun, comfortable vibe.

My has has been to Chubby's before and she raves about their burger. Today was my first visit and there will be many more! Chubby's has fantastic home cooking without the inflated tourist prices you'll find at many places in Pigeon Forge. I had the Open Faced Roast Beef on Bread w/ Brown Gravy, Fried Okra, and Pinto Beans. They also brought out shaved onion for my pinto beans - delicious! The fried okra took me back and the open faced roast beef was quite tasty. I also had a nice side salad with my meal. My wife has their signature Fried Pork Tenderloin Burger and Onion Rings. The pork tenderloin was pounded so thin and was extremely tender. I stole quite a bit of the overhanging tenderloin and it was fantastic. Even better - it was delicious in a bite of the sandwich with tomato, lettuce, and mayo! Both of our meals were fantastic and cost roughly $30 total, which was 10-20 less than we would have paid at one of the "southern home cooking" places in Pigeon Forge. We were both quite happy and so full! The service was fantastic. Our server was very polite, attentive, and helpful during our meal. This is a hidden gem in Sevierville and well worth the stop. read more

If you are in the Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge area do yourself a favor and eat at Chubby's. The food is phenomenal and the service is even better. Chubbys is fair priced not over priced like most Gatlinburg restaurants. 10 out of 10 recommend! read more
