This is the best Chuck a Rama I've been to in Utah! The food was bursting with flavor and was cooked to perfection. They had a variety of food out on Sunday, which was a delightful surprise because they had their traditional menu plus some fun extras. The sever was friendly and efficient, clearing our plates regularly and asking if we needed anything. The restaurant was clean and the ambiance was lovely. Okay truth be told the food wasn't 5 stars. Id probably give it a 3.5 or 4 in food. There are desserts, a couple salad bars, a couple dinner bars, and fresh carved meat and a good drink collection. Enough variety to appeal to the whole big weird family we've got. What really does it is the people. Naomi was our hostess. She got us drinks, celebrated a birthday with us, and treated us like we knew each other for years. She was so kind. When our daughter fell and bumped her head on the table, she fashioned an icepack out of a glove and was by our side right away. She even had a baggie of prizes to offer her to cheer her up. She was attentive to the plates and cleared the table promptly. She was very kind. This is pretty consistent with our experiences. We come here for big family dinners when folks come in from out of town and they always accommodate our shenanigans. Some variety of our family is probably here at least once a month and the service keeps us coming back. Love the option of diet dr pepper, and the Mac n cheese is popular with our family. The dessert is worth the cost for how much my sweet tooth family likes treats, and I like the salad bar and the fresh carved ham. The sweet potatoes are delicious too! But the star here is Naomi. Stopped in for lunch because we are new in town. Salad bar was good and fresh with lots of toppings, it included a drink so that was nice. The rest of the food unfortunately was not hot or even warm. The soup was lackluster and the rolls appeared fresh but were not served warm enough to accept the annoying individual butter pats. The Scones were stale and hard to chew.It would have been nice to be offered a protein other than chicken because the fish was cold as ice and clearly came from a frozen bag. The employee's are vacant-eyed and often block you from getting food on your plate while they refill the pans. It's a nice family option if your expectations aren't too extravagant. Perhaps dinner provides a better experience, I am unlikely to return to find out. read more

This location is the better of the north of I215. They treat you decent and food is doable. Some items are not the correct food temperature and thus waste goes up along with prices. Hostess was much better than the 400 south location where they refused a service animal for an elderly guy . That guy said he had been to other locations with out even a question. The lady was very rude and when the man asked for a manager the manager refused to show himself. Lehi and Draper locations are the best of the crop. read more

I was really skeptical coming here based on some local rumors, reviews and these Covid-times - but I was very pleasantly surprised and I'd definitely come back! Everything was super clean and Covid-precaution-friendly and the food was actually decent quality, especially for the price and variety. I truly have no complaints about my experience! They have tons of stations/variety and even have a special daily "theme" - the theme for our visit was Italian. They have a drinks station of course (but it even has Icee drinks!!!), salads, desserts (including ice cream), kiddie foods like pizza and fries and stuff - heck they even have a proper carving station with ham, prime rib (I think it was?) and Turkey! That prime rib (or whatever cut of beef it was) was fantastic!! Perfectly cooked, tender and flavorful! And their bread rolls were to die for omg - insanely delish! Price was very reasonable- The staff are really friendly and they work hard to clear up your empty plates and keep all the food stations super clean and stocked with plenty of the food items. They have hand sanitizer and plenty of gloves for your to wear a new pair each time you visit the buffet area...so overall very clean and sanitary imo. Even the bathrooms were super clean! And social distancing didn't seem to be an issue either - seemed safe and I'd be happy and comfortable to return when I'm in the area again. read more

We've been to many of the other Chuck-a-Rama locations, this was our first time going to Bountiful. We went there for lunch, and had our RV hooked up, so parking was a consideration. Entrances to the parking lot are really tight for a trailer, wound up going around for the far south side to get in. Food was typical CAR and was good. Hot buffet line seems smaller than other locations. Service was good and frequent enough it wasn't a problem with dishes piling up. read more

We don't often go to Chuck-a-Rama, but today we did. Meet Mauricio, our server. He was 100% attentive, helpful, and hard-working. He was constantly moving to accommodate customers, rearrange seating for bigger groups, vacuuming, cleaning, retrieving used plates, filling drinks, and more. He was gracious, kind, and extremely hospitable. Probably the cherry on top was when I watched him pay particular attention to an elderly man eating alone. Even at the end of the evening, Mauricio helped the gentleman with his jacket, making sure the jacket was on right, buttoned securely and that he was ready to head out into the cold weather. Mauricio, should be at least the trainer, if not the restaurant manager! If I was in the restaurant business, I would have hired him away yesterday. read more

Saturday 8/3/2024 6:30 PM What has happened to the fried chicken?? Almost ZERO breading! Is flour and a few spices a budget breaker??!! The fried chicken tastes like baked chicken! I could see the chicken pressure cooked, then quickly, barely dusted with flour, then deep fried for two minutes! The fried chicken is terrible!! It should be one of the stars. And, second time in a row, the ham and the other carvings were almost COLD! This is a Saturday, for crying out loud! 6:30 PM! Many other items were OK. I like this place, but it seems some things are starting to fail. The dressing is barely there. Why not chop up left over chicken and mix it into the dressing!!?? Service good. Place is clean. When my oldest child was 8 and "ran away" and hid in the neighborhood, I knew I needed to nip it in the bud. My oldest was a headstrong boy and this was just a sign of many more run away battles in the future. He had three younger siblings watching his every move and looking up to his example. I loaded my three other kids in the car and drove by my son's hiding spot. "You are going to want to come with us. We are going to your favorite place." I was met with silence. "This is your last chance." My other three were overjoyed when we pulled in to Chuck-a-Rama. Who can say no to an all you can eat buffet? They ate all the Mac and cheese their little tummies could fit. My little ones drank soda to their hearts content. I had salad, chicken, mashed potatoes, and cake. A good time was had by all, except my oldest. We came home to him sitting on the porch. I could almost see the steam coming from his ears. "We are going back there and you are going to take me! He said." "That is not how this works," I said. "You see, anytime someone runs away in our family we go out to dinner." From then on, any time one of my kids threatened to run away from home, all the other siblings would say, "Yah! Then we can go to Chuck-a-Rama." And that is how Chuck-a-Rama has saved me and my kids from many, many power struggles. read more

I have no problems with Chuck-A-Rama at all, especially this location! In fact, I early labored there with my son and 8 hours later we had him in the hospital! Crazy story right?! But so true. I had fun eating fried chicken and cinnamon bites while having tiny contractions. The servers and hosts are always so kind and efficient with checking in on us, picking up our plates, and grabbing us drinks. Spencer is great! Love how clean and tidy they keep everything as well! The main theme of the food changes every day and I think every time it's wonderful! We love Mexican day and seafood day. Their lasagna and fish/shrimp is wonderful! The salad bar is just what you need and the drink options are endless. The orange mango drink is yummy! Also, the dessert is great. Try the fudge brownie with some ice cream and a bit of cherry sauce on it. So good! Or the carrot cake! Yum! Stopped by here for the first time yesterday evening while coming through the area since I wanted to get a bite to eat at a buffet & one that wasn't very far from I-15. The food items I had were great & the quality was good as well! The selection was good as well just like the other Chuck-A-Rama buffets i've visited in the past. The price however is a little higher than other buffets such as Golden Corral. Would recommend if your in the area and are craving for a buffet read more

Where do I begin? customer service when you walk in is terrible, host was on their cell phone as I walked in. stood there a few minutes before we were greeted. took forever to be seated and when we were seated, the server didn't even acknowledge is. he kept asking for plates when we were eating. I set my plate down and he asked if we were done. if you have a group of people they obviously don't know how to prioritize or seat people in the sections. the tables are so close together there is hardly any walking distance , the floors are not clean when you sit down from the people before you. the silverware is not washed properly, food is tatestless and not worth the 18 you pay for it. came to celebrate an event with family and was treated like shit. this used to be a very good restaurant but the employees seemed rushed and can't handle the rush of the holiday season. if you can't handle the pressure don't work here. managers are rude and disrespectful as well. will NEVER eat here ever again. i would rather go to Golden Corral where employees care about their guests. change management. read more

This is probably the best buffet I've ever been to. When it comes to consistent food quality and guest service, no one can touch them. Although I do not always like the items that they have available, the quality is always there.In my experience all the locations I have been to have the same consistency. The dessert buffet here has a wider selection than any other brand I've been to.They have cakes pies, and ice cream bar, And a hot dessert bar. Over all this place deserves the shot. Nobody goes to this place expecting high quality chef-inspired meals, they come for what hopefully tastes like a family potluck - or at least that is my expectation. We were disappointed that the manager, Rob, was no longer there. Our family are regulars. Extended family too. We love the food. Look, this is a buffet. I get it. But it's a GOOD buffet and stands out for quality as well as service, selection an consistency. We came on Thanksgiving and the line was out the door. The staff brought around hot chocolate and rolls for those of us who were waiting in the cold, which is some of the best customer service I have ever seen.
