Pay the $8 and get all you-can-eat rockin' salad bar. I have tried all of the salad bars in the area... sizzler, cherry tomato, chinese buffet... this one is the best. Super fresh spinach and mixed greens and iceburg... they serve it all. I'm here to say, this place was key in helping me drop 30 lbs on Atkins. Lotsa salad, lotsa chicken, lotsa meat. I let my kids talk me into going on a Saturday afternoon. Quickly remembered why I stay away. This place is a zoo! If you like crowds, then enjoy. It isn't a pleasant experience for me to be packed in a booth next to a party of 12. It's like Grand Central Station at rush hour. And it's LOUD! Some of the food is good. Of course, my favorite item is always gone. If it's that popular--they should make more! Isn't that the point of the buffet? Seriously, they seem to keep everything else filled. The food is average and I know that there is cross contamination happening from all the little kids running wild unsupervised... OK, I must confess I have had a 10 year recurring thought about this place. I'm tempted to ditch my clothes, streak into the place with a pitchfork, jamm it into that huge roast beef sitting there then run out with the roast and speed away. Well it's better than Golden Corral but for all the variety none of it is very good. Even the deserts leave something to be desired. It's just subpar at best as far as flavor goes. They do have a great drink selection though. Also, they always are busy which makes it hard to get around to all the stations without constantly stepping in and out of people's way. I used to visit Chuck a Rama as a kid and it was always a treat. I took my grandma here for her birthday yesterday for nostalgia and the food was surprisingly decent and lots of variety. I was happy to see that drinks were included and they had everything you would want including our chocolate, icees, sodas, lots of various root beers and horchata. Horchata! Two salad bars, two hot stations, soups, breads, scones and a lot of dessert options. The baked chicken was my favorite because it was healthy and tasty. Made myself a nice little Sunday with all the toppings and a side of bread pudding and molten cake. Molten cake doesn't really work for buffets because the cake gets too hard. I wanted to try their cakes and cheesecakes but at this point I was done. Tuesday is 'Oriental' day. Someone please tell he owners that this term is racist. Come on. Food was great. Love the fact you can just sit down and start eating. Everything tasted fresh, which is often a challenge for a buffet.

I love to come here with my family and get the booths, whenever my family and I come here the waiters come over and ask us if we want to get a drink. I think that the thing that kinda disappoints me is that the food in the food area gets spilled sometimes and stays there the whole time and sometimes the food can be mixed together. I think that the waiters are really kind and they always come over and take your empty plate of finished food but other than that I suggest bring your family if you want to talk since this is a good place for that. read more

At Chuck-a-Rama, it's "what to eat." At Golden Corral, it's "what to eat FIRST." Big difference. The only redeeming factor at Chuck's is that the sodas are included in the price (last time I checked, which was more than five years ago). This place has a pot roast which is good, and cinnamon rolls, but that's about it. Do yourself a favor on Friday nights and go to Golden Corral. You'll even save a dollar by doing so. read more

Clean! Good service and decent food for a buffet.

Generally speaking, I love this Chuck-A-Rama. It's one of the best in the state - not that I drive north to south or south to north looking for the best buffets (maybe I do) - and I've never really had a problem with it. However, the past few times at this particular location have not been as pleasant as I had hoped. Recently I visited this location and got my favorite salad item: Greek Salad. I was disappointed to find a long black hair intermixed with my olives, tomatoes and lettuce. How sad. Of course, the manager took care of it promptly and discreetly. I got a free lunch but after that, I wasn't really wanting to go back. I did, however, return since it's a regular place I go with friends and family. Their options are endless though and so it's not hard to find something I like whether it be spicy wings or mac and cheese. I must say that the food quality and taste seems to have gone down slightly. The servers have always been attentive. Since I'm local and my family is too, we always get great service from them. read more

A lot of these buffet-type places have canned sauces and bland food. THIS place is different and delicious. We were in town to visit family and lucked up when we walked in these doors. The food set-up was very appealing but we were truly impressed with the taste of everything. It tasted homemade. The staff were very friendly and the manager, Ron?, stopped by and visited with us. It was apparent that he cared about our meal experience. This isn't the typical. We refuse to eat at Applebee's because we asked them about a dietary restriction in our group and were told to go elsewhere. We didn't have anyone with food allergies with us but I think Ron would be more concerned and polite. Thank you for making our family feel welcomed and at home as we feasted on tasty food. Saw a sign while driving through SLC for the Chuck-A-Rama and thought...why not. I must say it was one of the cleanest buffets we have been to. They also had a lot of selection and the food was really good. The staff was attentive and seem to be ready to fill/clean the buffet at a moments notice. read more

All American cuisine... even when they have Italian night or whatever-- still pretty American style. Good quality of food. Great variety. Dinner always has the turkey, roast beef and ham. Dinner can be pretty expensive, but lunch is a pretty good deal. read more

The restaurant itself is okay, great for groups. The restaurant is a buffet, and there's a good variety of food. However the food looks absolutely nothing like the photos, some of the food shown isn't even available there. Good price, don't expect something amazing. read more

I usually have loved this location but I got sick afterwards. There were a lot of dirty plates and the silverware looked cloudy. The roast beef was extremely tough. The rolls and salad bar were fantastic and the desserts great. The banana squash wasn't very good this time. read more

Well.... The food is Very Very average, nothing special, not too bad... Usually packed on the weekends and crowded by the food. One thing to be aware of: Always use the restroom BEFORE you get there. Over the last few years I've gone there, nature compelled me to use the restroom there twice. That experience was worse than a truck stop restroom on the interstate. read more

I will never go here again. There were lots of flies in the restaurant. My problem is I like a nice thick piece of ham and asked the girl at the carving station for one. She then sliced me a paper thin piece of ham and I told her that's no enough so she sliced me another piece of paper thin ham. I replied that's not going to be enough and she replied that I would have to eat it and then come back for more. She said she is unable to give out large pieces of meat. Do you have to go back 10 times and dirty all those plates just so you can get enough meat? If this place is all you can eat why can they give you a thick piece of ham, turkey or roast beef. We've always enjoyed Chuck a Rama for our kids, everyone can find something they like. We recently moved to Davis County and will never visit the Bountiful location again. A group of teenagers covered in fake blood (injuries) were allowed into the restaurant and it made for a miserable eating atmosphere. In addition to that we pulled 6 different utensils out of the "clean" area only to find they had food caked to them. I guess we shouldn't have expected much eating at a buffet but this one fell far below acceptable standards even for low class eating establishments. read more

Last night our family went to Chuck-A-Rama. I come here once a year when I visit relatives. On a positive note they do have a large selection of food. The salad bar is good. The lettuce and other greens are fresh and they have a decent selection of dressings and other items to include on your salad. Last night was international night but there was nothing international on the menu. It was truly 100% American cuisine which is not a bad thing, but not when they advertise differently. The macaroni and cheese was over salted and had an odd chemical taste to it. The "Funeral" potatoes were also over salty as well. I will say the Turkey was done extremely well and is carved right in front of you, I went back for seconds on that. The mashed potatoes and gravy are done well also. Chuck-A-Rama is a good place to go if you have a large group that is not to fussy about the menu and food. I debated between 2 and 3 stars for this establishment. If I could I would have given it 2.5 stars. read more

I am not a fan of buffet style restaurants. I was pleasantly surprised at how clean the place was. No rating for service since it is all self service. A few people offered to get refills and removed finished plates from the table. The greens at the salad bar looked fresh. As far as the quality of the food there: it was good enough. They do offer an excellent variety of beverages to choose from including the Utah favorite - Apple Beer. read more
