This place absolutely lives up to the hype. I went with the Plain cheesesteak with fried onions and pepper jack cheese on a seeded bun, along with an order of Meatheadz loaded fries. Let me just say, that cheesesteak was a monster. Fresh, perfectly cooked, and swimming in melty cheese--it's easily the best cheesesteak I've had outside of Philly. The portion was so generous I could barely finish it, and for anyone arriving hungry, you definitely won't leave that way. The loaded fries looked fantastic too, but I had to box them up for later (that's how filling the sandwich was). The prices were moderate and fair for what you get, and while the place was busy, the energy felt lively rather than chaotic. All in all, Meatheadz is absolutely worth the trip if you're craving an authentic cheesesteak experience. Rating: 4.25 out of 5

Overall, I'd rate their slice a 4.5/5, but happy to round up as Vincent's Pizza is delivering a quality product after all these years, whereas other Hamilton pizzerias that have been around for decades have had the quality slip a little over time. What I got instead was an existential paradox that came in a compostable box. The Chopped Cheese Loaded Waffle Bowl was a triumph of entropy. Ground beef, waffle fries, lettuce, pickles, and some house-made sauce that probably had no right being that good. It was sloppy. It was a mess. It looked like what happens when a cook gives up on the idea of neatness and embraces chaos as a culinary principle. It was also delicious. I ate it with the same mixture of shame and pleasure that one feels watching late-night television while knowing there are better things to do. Then there were the wings. I had ordered five of them, boneless, with Mango Habanero sauce. The wings were not terrible, but the house should not be named after them. The chicken tasted like something that had forgotten its own purpose. The sauce, advertised as a union of spice and sweetness, was neither. It sat there on the wings like a politician's promise, shiny but insubstantial. My wife ordered a build-your-own chicken sandwich and cheese fries. She said both were fine, in the same tone people use to describe the weather or a dental cleaning. Fine is not bad, but fine is not what one hopes for when dinner arrives in a paper bag smelling like grease and glory. Still, the Loaded Waffle Bowl was enough to earn a return trip. I would go back for it the way a moth goes back to a porch light, knowing full well it might burn me. Next time, I'll try the bone-in wings. I'll give one of their nineteen sauces another chance to find meaning in the void. Four stars. Because life is messy, the bowl was good, and hope dies harder than it should.

The Sauce was neither too not, nor was it too mild. The Ambience was dreary, but who really cared when they served up wing after delicious wing. I was a young lad back in the late 80s and had the metabolism to enjoy these wings whenever the budget would allow for it. And enjoy them I did. So with Great Fanfare, I returned, like a devotee going back to the Religious Land. I brought my teenage son, who is already an avid fan of Buffalo Wings. I had returned to Chucks. So some things change and some things don't. Chucks literally looks the same inside as it did in 1986. No parachute pants on this man anymore, but the same interior greeted me. The prices have gone up a lot. Over $1/wing is no bargain, but I plunked down my $15 for 14 wings and we quickly decamped nearby and started to dig in. What had changed were...the wings, or at least my memory of them has changed. The wings were fried reasonably well (but could have been a little crispier). However the real let down in these wings was the sauce. It had a puddle of oil on it, but it lacked that salty, vinegary, spicy flavor that makes your mouth pucker just daydreaming about it. The sauce was not very flavorable and didn't have great mouthfeel. We ate about half the wings and threw the rest away. Never to Chucks will I return.

My Honey Turkey and Swiss hoagie with shredded lettuce, mayo and hot/sweet peppers wasn't zoftig, but ample enough to warm and fill the belly of the beast. I enjoyed it. I have been on a deli kick of late, and FD was about as rewarding as the other local family run shops in the region. Good to help keep all of them in business by chosing mom & pop businesses open and thriving, rather than those factory like places that offer gasoline as a side dish.
