Very cool spot in Venice! Vibes/aesthetic are 5/5. We came for dessert only, which was a vegan mousse and vegan/gf pumpkin spices churros. Three people shared these, and we were all satisfied. (Would def order one for two people rather than one per person). None of us could taste the pumpkin in the churros. The churros themselves were otherwise pretty good, both flavor and texture wise. The sauce was cold which surprised us all; besides that, I thought the dipping sauce was fine but my two friends actively disliked it. My last experience at Chulita for one of my vegan friends birthday was a 10/10. The service and ambience is always amazing, we make reservations but they also do take walk-ins. I love the indoor outdoor vibes of this place - perfect spot for a post church brunch/lunch! Their tacos are tasty and flavorful - I ordered the cauliflower Al pastor and steak tacos which were so loaded that two became four. I would've preferred regular Al pastor but the cauliflower was light and yummy. Our waitress was quick to check in with us and gave us plenty of time to review the menu before solidifying our orders. First of all, Chulita was by far my favourite restaurant I came across during my stay in LA. The amazing presentation from the street drew me in and the vibe was amazing from greetings at the entrance. I believe it was Daria (not sure if I spelt that correct) was my server who took the time to explain some of the amazing features. She suggested I sit at the bar as I was alone in business and introduced me to the bartenders. Being Canadian she made it a point to one of the bartenders that liked hockey and introduced me. I was impressed with her knowledge of the various entree's so I asked her to pick my main and whatever drink she thought would go great with it. I couldn't have had a better meal as I don't normally order fish but the pan seared sea bass. Pescado Zarandeado was amazing. Cooked perfectly and paired with a hibiscus margarita that was on par with the meal. Thank you to the kitchen and owners along with the 2 servers behind the bar and Daria for such a great experience. I liked it so much I came back a few days later for tacos which were also amazing. The service was great again even though it was a very busy evening. We recently moved nearby. Last week we wanted to try Chulita and bring six of our friends. But we didn't know whether they'd be serving their Brunch menu of their All Day menu...because their website doesn't explain when each of the menus is available. We called the number on Chulita's website. But (a) they won't answer the phone, (b) you can't leave a message, and (c) they won't call you back. Furthermore, they don't have an email address on their website. That is, Chulita refuses to engage with the public unless you're actually in their restaurant. We went somewhere else to eat. When we walked by Chulita it looked like they had a lot of room for us because only one table in the restaurant had diners. If they'd been reachable by phone or email, our party of 8 would've dined there for our first time and we would've more than doubled their number of guests at that hour. read more

Blown away! The only reason i haven't given it 5 stars (yet) is that I haven't tried more than 3 items on the menu. So let me give a quick shout out to the highlights: 1) Pescado (fish) taco Delish. Definitely one of the best I've had, ranking a solid 9/10 for all the best fish tacos I've had in LA. 2) Tinga de Pollo (shredded chicken) taco OMG..... this was the 11/10. Probably THE best chicken taco I've ever had. Sure it's drippy and juicy, but so is amazing sex. If this is the only taco you'll ever have, you've lived life to its fullest. 3) Pumpkin pie spiced churros At first, I thought they looked like chemo-therapy shishito peppers, but all that initial hesitation disappeared when I dipped them in the salted coconut-coffee caramel sauce. Since the restaurant is half indoors and half outdoors, the AC didn't do much to help, which made it a bit hard to fully enjoy the meal. The staff were super nice and the place is small so it makes a cute lunch spot. We went for brunch and the food was perfect. Vegetarian items on the menu, but for me that means that it is clean. What I mean is mexican cuisine is usually greasy with fried tortilla chips and lots of cheese. This was the opposite a clean and filling mexican spot. The chips were almost like baked tortilla chips that you tear apart yourself to dip in their amazing salsa. The quesadillas are like traditional each wrapped like a taco, but with cheese. The sauce on top made the dish complete as the tortilla was pretty thick which would have made the dish pretty dry. The meat was tender as well. The only downside was the taco was bland which was funny cause that is what the waitress recommended. We were given water without having to ask, which I always appreciate. We chose to share the ceviche and four tacos: the asada steak, chicken tinga, mushroom, and the cauliflower al pastor. My favorite of the four tacos was the asada, with the cauliflower tacos a close second. For drinks I tried a guava agua fresca, which had more of a limeade with a guava after taste. It was still as substantial, fresh and flavorful as the first time I had it. I did find the vegan churros to be a bit more dry than I remembered. Still I had a great experience. Our server, I wish I had gotten her name was super friendly! I love her energy! This time, in addition to the fish taco, we also got the steak taco, guacamole and chips (blue corn chips which some people like and some people don't) and the house guava margarita. Chulita stands on its own merit! We started with the guacamole. It was "lime heavy" but not too much so... and the avocados were so fresh! (Alex told us they are brough in daily from the valley). And the blue corn chips were an eye pleasing touch! Next up, barbacoa taco, mushroom taco with housemade casava tortilla, chile relleno, and Chulita bowl. I cannot tell you what had better flavor.... or which was the freshest.... or even which I liked the best, because it was all so delicious! While not a vegetarian or vegan restaurant, Chuilta has plenty of choices for both and meat eaters won't even miss the lack of carnivorous selections. All of the flavors are so well balanced! Everything was light but filling and with just the right amount of crunch. Quite literally the perfect meal for a CA afternoon! And it's all so pretty! We were pleasantly surprised to get table for 5 on a Sunday afternoon walk-in to this place. We were starving and felt like trying some Mexican food. Our server Jenn was friendly and attentive, and we got straight to ordering as soon as we were seated. They were serving both, brunch and Lunch menu, and their lunch menu looked a much better than the brunch menu. We started off with a few $18 cocktails, which included a winner - El Pepino - very very refreshing and also not that spirit forward. Foodwise, we got the Coliflor Fundido ($16) - served with some excellent Tostadas. These were very tasty, but nothing can beat their absolutely excellent tacos, which included Vegan Mushroom Carnitas ($7 each), and Tinga de Pollo. The Mushroom tacos were spectacular which set the bar very high for our mains, which sadly, did not live up to the level! The Chulita Bowl ($19) while presented in a very nice way, lacked taste, which even the Vegan Chorizo couldn't fix. Our table had a similar experience with the Chicken Tinga bowl.
