Esquites and the cheese dip
Beatrice B.

Chulita is a must-visit in Venice! I've been twice now--once for dinner and once for brunch--and while both were amazing, brunch stole the show. The atmosphere and vibe are inviting, and the food quality and presentation are incredibly high-end. It feels fancy and upscale without the crazy prices or pretentious attitude. They have tons of excellent vegan options on the menu, and the drinks are phenomenal. If you want a great meal that is a step above your typical Mexican joint, I'd highly recommend this spot. Can't wait for my next trip!

10/10 service was awesome and fruit was wonderful! This place felt so homey and the drinks were great!

Cauliflower taco and mushroom taco

This place is packed even on weekdays though we were able to get seating without prior reservation. I had their roasted cauliflower and mushroom tacos, and they were both very flavorful. Their plant based options are truly a standout, especially for Mexican restaurants .

One of the best Mexican food experience ever! Ambiance was 100%, great service and the food was memorable, starting from the blue corn chips and heavenly mineral water (elixir of the gods) to our main course. Flavoring was 10/10, presentation was 10/10

FOOD 8/10 DRINKS 9/10 AESTHETIC 10/10 SERVICE 7/10 The ceviche off the appetizer menu was delicious, not spicy more on the sour side. I like that they make their own tortillas , we pretty much ordered one tacos of eqch the best ones in my opinion we're barbacoa and steak 10/10. We also ordered a side of red rice , not super authentic but still yummy. I would make reservations or call , it's a small locations with street parking. we ordered the seasonal margarita which was a peach margarita very tasty 10/10.

ARRACGERA the hanger steak with carrot mole was one of the best dishes I've had in a long time!!! The restaurant is very hip, cozy, great decor, friendly stuff, and impressive tequila selection.

Coliflor fundido

I dined here with three other friends for dinner and really enjoyed my experience. The service was really great, as the server was accommodating to all our allergies and even brought out extra chips to go with leftover ceviche for me to pack up! We had the coliflor fundido to start, which I am so glad we got, because it was my absolute favorite of the night. I ordered the ceviche for my main and really enjoyed this too. The fish was fresh tasting and the veggies were crunchy and complimented the fish perfectly. As far as the food goes, my biggest regret is not trying the tacos. My friends ordered the barbacoa, nopal, and steak tacos and loved these. Overall, the ambiance is really cozy and beautiful too. It has an indoor outdoor feel, which I can imagine is wonderful when it's warmer, but can be chilly during this time of year. I do wish they had brought out heat lamps to our table but we didn't ask, so that's okay.

Chips Guacamole House Salsa

Wonderful dinner at our last night in Venice for the Winter Break. We had later resy and they were able to accommodate us when we arrived early. Sat in the front patio with heaters. Started with chips, salsa and guac. Loved the whole tortilla chip, break it yourself type thing. We all had drinks mine of course with Mezcal and Hibiscus. The seasonal marg was apricot - delicious! Had the creamy and thick tortilla soup, quesadilla (best one according to our daughter!) which looked more like an enchilada. Had the grilled fish with creamy cauli mash --- so good! Had the hanger steak but wished it was more tender then finished off with churros. Our server was attentive and overall good experience at this cozy with a cool vibe Michelin resto.

Great food great drinks amazing service. Back patio was a nice vibe. Shout out Alex!

On a rainy day and although Chilita in Venice has a beautiful patio, I made my way to this restaurant on Rose Avenue after attending a Venice artist studio open house. The outdoor patio was closed and I sat comfortably inside facing the large, beautiful bar and indoor dining area. It was a Sunday so they handed me a brunch menu along with the regular menu and dessert menu. Chilita's offers a Novo Mexican cuisine that is both familiar and populated by vegan/GF offerings with unique sauces. I ordered the following: QUESADILLA Heirloom Corn Tortillas, Queso Oaxaca, Pipián de Calabaza, Crema, Avocado Salsa + ADD BARBACOA PUMPKIN PIE SPICED CHURROS Vegan/Gluten Free Pumpkin Pie Spiced Churros, Almond Milk, Salted Coconut Coffee Caramel Sauce The Quesadillas came three fold and with such a delicious wet sauce that each bite with the barbacoa was smilingly tasty. I ate 2/3rds and took one home which allowed for another meal and for me to eat the special pumpkin churros with caramel sauce that probably is meant for 2 but somehow didn't have a chance for my gluttony. I took my time savoring these strips of light GF dough with a caramel sauce that could make a jalapeno sing with sweetness. Another totally satisfying meal even though I didn't get to try one of their wonderful sounding cocktails. Next time Yelpers.

Barbacoa quesadilla with blue corn tortillas

Unfortunately this spot is just not worth a Michelin star, the food tasted like Sysco products, the quality was a 6/10 not the worst I've had but not worth going back for. Music and decor were fine, service wasn't the best compared to other Michelin star restaurants. If I can make it at home more flavorful and better then I won't be going back.

Quesadilla with Barbacoa
Kerry N.

This is a fave of ours, came here for my birthday weekend. We got guac to start, then shared the quesadilla with barbacoa, pescado taco, barbacoa taco, and hanger steak taco for our mains which were all so good. The pescado wasn't my favorite, but that's because it had a spicy sauce that wasn't my personal favorite but my boyfriend said this was his favorite one! We always get the churros which are gluten free and vegan and they're so good, although the sauce was thinner than usual and seemed not as good, but maybe it was just an off day. The servers were chill and the vibe is always great here although it is indoor/outdoor and it was a very cold night so I kept my jacket on to stay warmer.

Classic margarita guava flavor
Lucia A.

Leaving this beauty of a pic. The classic margarita (guava flavor ) Took me a bit to order a breakfast burrito I won't lie I almost left cause I sat at the bar without being greeted. I wasn't sure if they did to go orders so I asked a server . He was cool and helped me right away . Since I would be waiting I decided to try a drink . Opted for tequila blanco . Location is very aesthetic and filled with beautiful wood tone furniture. Bartenders were pleasant and recommended me a great tequila. I understand they are a popular spot and get busy . Bet I will be back soon for more drinks !!!!!!!

The sauce helped bring some juiciness back and balanced it out. The bluefin tuna bibimbap was pretty enjoyable. The tuna tasted fresh and the textures worked well together, but the dish could have used a little more seasoning to make the flavors pop. The perilla was a great touch though. It added a slightly minty flavor that complemented the tuna without taking over the dish. The beef short rib was easily the standout. PERFECTLY cooked, incredibly tender, and seasoned just right. The richness of the meat paired so well with the lettuce wraps that it almost feels like they should automatically come with the dish. Service was good and everything came out smoothly. Went early to see if anything opened or if walk-in would be faster, surprisingly they actually had something come available sooner. We opted to sit inside and loved the ambiance. Food - amazing! I read reviews first and watched a couple IG videos so I knew a general idea of what we wanted to order. Glad the server suggested the orange chicken over the walnut shrimp when we were debating it. Chil wontons, absolutely a must get, different from DTF, not crazy spicy but full of flavor and richness. XO fatty noodles, perfect chewiness on the rolled noodles and the flavors were well balanced, we enjoyed them with a little chili paste and the orange chicken as the protein. Orange chicken, soooo much more flavorful than your average Panda Express orange chicken, good sized nuggets of chicken that were crispy and tender at the same time, and the zest livened it up. BBQ pork shank, our server did warn us it's not the easiest to eat, but it's worth it, hard to see cutting it off the bone because it was so dimly lite in the restaurant and your hands will get sticky but once you get chunks off the bone and your bao bun built it's delicious especially when you get the lacquered crispy skin yummm! Only skip for the night was the mango sticky rice. Much rather would've spend $8 on something else. The mango was tart/sour. The sticky rice was too wet and mushy. It was a pass for both of us. Service - our server was awesome. From greeting to end, he was the right amount of attentive and was super helpful with suggestions. Everyone from the food runner to the busser, they were all so nice. From getting us chili paste or to go containers, customer service was on point. Parking - love love that are a few parking spaces right out front. They're metered. But after 8pm it was free so perfect for us. Other than those spaces, there's a lot across the street if you want to risk it or also side streets parking too.

She told us that we could be seated at the bar immediately, which is what we opted for. She placed us at a lower portion of the bar with two seats, which was perfect. The bartender, Justin took our drink and dinner order and I have to say, he makes amazing cocktails! We had egg rolls for an appetizer, which arrived very quickly and went well with our cocktails. I ordered a rye old-fashioned and my wife ordered a house creation, "Jesuit's Tea Party," which she enjoyed. For our entrees, I ordered Hainan Chicken and my wife had the Walnut Shrimp. Mine was really good, but I have to say I like the Walnut Shrimp better. They have their breading skills dialed in, so next time I think I'd go with something fried. All in all a great experience. Great vibe and everyone was very friendly and attentive.

My husband opted for a neat Caballito Cerrero Puntas pour (high proof agave spirit). They only had 0.5 Oz for their bottle and only charged for the partial pour. People came in and ordered anything from cocktails to neat pours to flights. It was a cool spot and the bartenders seemed pretty well versed in different cocktails, giving a few suggestions to different patrons. Even making a few Espresso Martinis for a couple of girls that didn't really like their initial cocktails. Staff was cool, attentive, and pretty quick and efficient with the pours.
