The staff are super polite, friendly and work non stop very efficiently. They were busy the entire time. The chicken was fresh, hot and moist on the inside while super crunchy on the outside. 1 Star - @Church's Chicken Corporate, This Isn't Okay I visited Churches Chicken in Lakewood, Washington and had an extremely disappointing experience. I was owed $0.53 in change and was given $0.50 because they were "out of pennies." When I politely asked if they could give me a nickel instead, the employee told me his boss instructed them not to round up. So customers lose money if the store doesn't have correct change? That's not acceptable. It may only be 3 cents, but it's the principle. A business should never short a customer because of an internal cash issue. When I asked for a refund instead, I was told I could go somewhere else. @Church's Chicken Corporate -- this is a policy issue, not just an employee issue. Stopped here to pick up some chicken to snack on as we ran errands. The honey butter biscuits were sweet and soft. Much better than Popeye's. The chicken was crunchy and juicy. Super tasty! The corn on the cob was a full Ear not half and could've used some butter. It also tasted like frozen corn. If you rub some butter on it it might be better. Stop by here on my way home for work it was a bad idea. I ordered a 3 strip dinner and 3 piece chicken & biscuit. It was a waist of time & money. I get to the window they only charge me for the 3 pcs tender meal, so I reordered the chicken forgotten... we waited. I received the chicken & biscuit it was a burnt-black leg & 2-thighs in worse condition. I send it back. I told them it was burnt and they told me all the chicken look that way... proudly. I switch the 3 pieces of chicken for 3 tender strips, which hardly fill fair but it is what it is. So I have never had food from Church's before. People always compare it to Popeyes or KFC and say it's somewhere in between the two. I spent a lot of time looking at Ubereats places because I didn't want to spend a lot of money and we normally don't eat fast food. We got the 4 spicy chicken sandwiches, two large sides, and frosted biscuits meal for $26.99, which after eating it, I can definitely say is a steal. Not only do the sandwiches have a good hefty piece of chicken, but it was really good and they didn't mess up the order, which happens a lot with delivery services. Overall, I am happy with their service, the food, and the price. Definitely will be ordering from Church's before KFC or Popeyes. read more

It frustrates me when people are so quick to judge fast food on Yelp. While this location may not look like much from the outside, the customer service this day in particular was swell. We were all revved up to try this new chicken sandwich and were shocked to see the drive thru without a line. We were quickly greeted at the drive thru and pleased to not be let down, they had the sandwich! I ordered mine spicy with Mac n cheese, my husband's spicy with fries. In theory I suppose we should've ordered one of each to try and compare but we couldn't pass up on the spicy. We've also been too excited about this to share . We got home (about 20min later) and much to our surprise our sandwiches are we're still fairly hot and fresh. We reheated the fries in the air fryer and they were as good as new. The Mac n cheese, as always, was superb. The only good kind of baked Mac. The sandwich was surprisingly large. Somewhere between a Chick-fil-A and Popeyes in size. The buns were a toasted and buttered brioche and arguably better than Chick-fil-A's buns. The spicy Mayo was included with the perfect amount. It definitely packed a punch. If you're looking for a comparison to the Popeyes, you've met your match. Not as comparable to the Chick-fil-A since spicy isn't built-in but dang. This definitely took us by surprise. Clearly people that have never been to a Church's before...this is exactly what Church's is...it's a poor man's Popeyes...a substitute for Bojangles and they kick ass at it! Yes, waits can be long but hell, it's fresh...sometimes you gotta wait! We usually grab it on our way to Seattle and usually on our way back home. It's a guaranteed stop at least one way! We ordered a mixed family meal, half spicy, mashed potatoes, coleslaw & additional sides of okra & mac n cheese. The spicy chicken had great flavor, both types were hot & fresh. I was told the mac would be a 10 min wait but by the time I reached the window and paid for my order everything was ready to go. I always order from this place for UberEats and usually love the experience. I love Church's chicken so much I UberEats here multiple times per week but the most recent experience was disappointing. I usually order the 2 XL chicken sandwich combo but this time I only received one of them. I was able to get a refund through UberEats for the order but had to order another order and pay for the fees and tips all over again which was way more than what was refunded.
