Came here after wife was at Baylor hospital. The service was terrible. I am not sure who was in charge and no one could make up their mind WHO's table we were at. It took sometime before we got drinks or a menu. The inside was typical for Chuy's. When we got our food it was not hot as it usually is. This Chuy's needs some training with new people here. My husband and I were planning to go to an Italian restaurant nearby but we walked by Chuy's and it smelt amazing so we went here instead. Upon arriving, we (2 of us) were asked if we wanted to sit immediately at the high top tables or wait 10 minutes for a regular table. We opted to wait 10 minutes for a regular table. We waited next to the host stand and a group of 4 walked in (as we were 35 minutes into our wait) and were sat immediately. It was quite odd and frustrating so a waitress (not even the host) ended up seating us at a high top. After that, it was smooth sailing. I never would've thought to dip tortilla chips in ranch but it was actually so good! The drinks and food came out very quickly and they were good! Oh Chuy's, how I love you. I was out sourcing furniture for a project and stopped in at Chuy's hungry and short on time and they did not fail to deliver! My server stayed on top of it and was there in a flash with chips and avocado ranch dip and salsa and my drink quickly. I ordered the chicka chicka boom boom and it was delivered in the blink of an eye. As always, it was delicious and incredibly filling. I love the cilantro rice that it's served with, the sauce on the enchiladas is my favorite! I had a great dining experience, thank you Chuy's for always delivering the good stuff. read more

I have been an avid Chuys fan since college. Typically great margs, homemade tortillas, and great service. Today may be the worst experience I've ever had with the establishment. It started with ordering margaritas, the bartender was great but he was like the energizer bunny moving too quick as he had far too many tables that he could handle. He made our drinks then questioned if he had added tequila. It ended up that he hadn't, it was straight Marg mix. We then got seated and again, the waitress had way too many tables than she could cover. We ended up waiting for an hour before we could order. She felt bad and gave us another round of tortillas chips, but I found a chip with a blue circle and green around the edges of the circle. Possibly mold? We finally got our food after ages and it looked like it was dog food. Fajitas were uncut, looked like they were previously boiled, and no knife to try and get out slices. We had to stand up and go ask a random waitress for a knife to cut our food that was getting cold. I am hoping that this was one bad lunch experience with chuys but I'm fearful to come back to experience the same food/service. read more

I'm really sad to hear this location is closing bc the building was sold to build an office building. Food was great as always. I ordered the roasted chicken enchiladas with Green Chile sauce and it was delicious. I also ordered a margarita and it was really good. However, I was quite disappointed in my server who decided to upcharge me for a grande margarita. It looked like their $7.50 margarita but then I got my bill and had to shell out more money for a grande. She never asked if I wanted a regular or grande and she decided to choose for me. What??? I left a good tip for her as well. Service was really lackluster and you could tell she didn't enjoy working on a Sunday. So, please make sure you get what you want before you place your order, and don't get upcharged on your bill. I expected better from years of coming here. read more

I've always loved Chuy's, and even though their location recently changed, the great service hasn't! We ordered our Mother's Day dinner to-go, but the tortillas that came with our family fajita order were accidentally left out--they only included the extras we ordered. My husband called to let them know, and instead of having us come back, the manager personally delivered the missing tortillas to our house. That personal touch meant so much to us and reminded us why we'll always come back. Thank you, Chuy's! read more

Two stars soley because our food was good...HOWEVER - as we were leaving, we saw quite literally the largest cockroach we had ever seen on the wall inside of the restaurant. Seriously - it was at minimum the size of my index finger. Crawling on the wall of the picture frames of dogs. TexMex is just not my thing. =[ We were really excited when one opened in Terrell. We know it's a chain and had never been. Nothing on the menu even sounded good. I got a quesadilla and he got a plain bean and cheee burrito. They were fine but, that wasn't really what I was anticipating ordering when we made plans to go out to eat, ya know? We could have made that stuff at home. But nothing else on the menu was even remotely interesting. I am giving it 4 stars because it was clean. Everybody was nice. The food was hot. And our server was nice. But it's just not for us, and I don't want to murder their ratings just because of my personal taste. Saturday the 23 of November we visited Chuy son McKinney. I called ahead as the website suggested because we had a larger party than 7 and wanted to get our name on the waitlist. I told the host that we would like to put on name on the waitlist. She then told me I could do that online. When I said it said to call her response was "okay." And nothing else so I asked would that be okay. Her response was "yeah." When we arrived at the restaurant she lied at first saying she didn't remember the conversation then remember but had never put us on the list. Chuys... how i (used to) love thee. Being an Austinite for years, we would partake in Chuys frequently with their fantastic HH options and solid texmex fare. From time to time, we'll still stop by in Austin, but a family gathering led us north to DFW, and we decided to make a visit to this location. First off, as many noted, parking is a true nightmare here. If you can, rideshare or find a small clown car that can park in a super awkward space, otherwise you'll be driving awhile looking for parking. Onto the experience. The restaurant itself was bustling on a Thursday early evening. Sat down, got our salsa, queso, and some jalapeño dip. Years past, I'd literally freeze that jalapeño dip and fly it up to Chicago with me when in grad school... but for whatever reason didn't hit home this go. Flavors were off, and it was fairly mid. I've copycat'd better, which is a true shame. Hoping it was just this location. The service itself was fine. Waited a bit for our drinks (beer, marg) but the server was nice and somewhat attentive, about what we'd expect from this type of place. For the actual food, green Elvis was good but ultimately super greasy. Wife had enchiladas, and they were also fairly greasy. Someone in our party had the tortilla soup and said the broth was fairly bland but otherwise, the soup was a 4 outta 5. Wife and I left wondering what happened to our beloved Chuys, or if this was the new normal for them after expanding to numerous markets and the quality has just flopped. We will always have a spot in our hearts, but sadly the stable taste and experience seems like maybe it's a memory of yesteryear. But please, for the love of god, bring the good jalapeño dip back to its OG ways. No one wants the new, watered down and less flavor version! read more

I love Chuy's! Everyone at my job is excited about it being so closse and they have great parking now! I stopped on the second day after their new opening on Greenville Ave. Ordered my chicken quesadillas and extra guac and baby i had to get a larger container of the Crack sauce ( creamy jalepino) that's what we call it at work! LOL. I can never get enough, and have to put it on everything! Ya'll it is Soooo goood!! The new place is nice and spacious, really great atmosphere. And there's PARKING!! LOL. So I crave chuys veggie enchiladas with boom boom sauce on like a REGULAR basis. When that craving hits it's usually when I'm driving home so I order to go, it can be hit or miss with wait times so I just add in an extra 20min and I'm set. However if you eat in house, the service is fast and efficient. This location is a bit smaller so there usually is a wait but once seated everyone there is willing to accommodate you and they get you those margs STAT. The salsa is one of my favorites and the beloved jalapeño ranch is amazing. Their queso is wonderful and the tortillas are fresh. Always a good Tex mex stop in my opinion. read more

So I'm not one of those Californians that automatically scoffs at the idea of TexMex being good. That being said, please don't serve my chips and salsa with a side of ranch dressing. Tortola chips are not Lays Ruffles, they should never be accompanied with salad dressing or dip that isn't cheese based. A seasoned ground beef enchilada with Tex-Mex Sauce, chicken enchilada with Tomatillo Sauce, cheese enchilada with Ranchero Sauce, crispy taco & homemade tostada chips dipped in queso. Everything was good except for them tostada chip that was dipped in queso. I tried it right away and the cheese sauce was cold and you just can't eat the stuff cold. Washed everything down with their house margarita during happy hour, really enjoyed it. And the bartender at the bar seemed to really enjoy her job. Excellent food, excellent service! Today I came in during lunch with a very large party and they were able to accommodate us shortly. Service was attentive and very kind. The food is unbelievable - great flavors portions and textures. I'm a big fan of their chips and the creamy jalapeño salsa. You really can't go wrong ordering anything off the menu that says chuys choice (a little pink label above the item). Parking is a little rough here but that's just Dallas. Bring in a framed picture of your dog to this location and I think you get a free appetizer! read more

Chuy's is definitely one of my go-to tex-mex spots, however I've heard that it hits different in Texas. So I was super excited to try it in Dallas! Plus one of my friends always raved about his Chuy's ritual, which he dubbed as the "Chuy's Parth Patel Experience." Before starting your meal, Parth always orders the complimentary fresh tortillas with a bowl of salsa, ranchero, and boom boom per person. You then take your hot tortilla, spread each of the sauces in layers, and finally top it off with crush tortilla chips. I kid you not, it tastes absolutely AMAZING! I ordered the veggie enchiladas smothered in boom boom sauce. It's spinach, onions, zucchini, red bell peppers, serranos, roasted green chiles, corn, and cheese all wrapped in a flour or corn tortilla with a side of beans and rice. The enchiladas always taste super fresh and are filling. But it's the boom boom sauce that steals the show. It pairs well with all the flavors of the seasoned veggies and never disappoints. Chuy's is also one of my favorite spots because of their assortment of sauces. Although I like the boom boom the best, I highly recommend trying them all out to find your favorite. I also order the ranchero on the side anyways! The tomatillo sauce is tangy but mild and made from fresh green tomatillos, green onions, cilantro, and garlic. The deluxe tomatillo adds in sour cream, herbs, and spices for a creamier finish. The ranchero made with fire-roasted tomatoes, caramelized onions, bell peppers, cilantro, spices giving it a zesty flavor. The fan favorite boom boom is made from roasted New Mexican chiles, tomatillos, green onions, cilantro, and melted cheese. I always wanted try to the green chile and hatch green chile but unfortunately they aren't vegetarian. Overall this Chuy's has a great ambiance, had unlimited chips and salsa, and restaurant was HUGE! Pro-tip: if you order two half portions of a dish, you get double the sides! read more
