After an afternoon of shopping at the Gilroy outlets, we were starved. I checked for deals in the area and found one at this place. I was pleasantly surprised at how good the food was. My mother in law makes the best Mexican food so she is tough to beat. We started off with a couple of beers served with iced mugs. Hit the spot. What can I say about cielito lindo? I'm a very picky eater and refuse to eat at a lot of places and never take my leftovers to go but cielito lindo is a place that I always make an acception for. Their food is so delicious. I have never had a bad meal while going there. I bring my friends and family as much as my schedule allows. It's honestly the closest thing to home cooked Mexican food that you can get. The girls that work there are always so friendly and always know exactly what I want. Muy bueno.....I ordered the shrimp fajitas, and they came out sizzzzzzling!! Great, fresh flavors, and loved that there were large pieces of tomato included in the fajita veggies. We came here based on the yelp reviews and Cielito Lindo lived up to our expectations. I love Chile Verde and ordered it based on the other reviewers comments and it did not disappoint. The sauce was wonderfully flavorful with just the right level of spice for my tastes. The pork was tender and moist and fell apart with a fork. Excellent home made refried beans and well made rice, not too dry and not too moist. My wife had the beef chimichanga which was excellent too. Nice and Crispy tortilla and tender shredded beef. There was a generous covering of guacamole, cheese, and sour cream. This is "traditional" California Mexican food at its best, not really authentic regional dishes, but if you grew up in Cali, you know what I mean and this place will satisfy those cravings we all have. We will definitely come here next time we're in Gilroy. read more

Went there for lunch. Great food, great service! When you come in the restaurant a nice lady brings you a cup of water along with a basket of chips and two types of salsa. I ordered the pork chimichanga ($11.95) and the pork was deliciously tender and the portions were generous. I came here on a whim. I saw the reviews and my mom wanted Mexican food. Since it was her birthday I couldn't say no. We came in and chose a table. The waiter was quick to ask us what we'd like to drink. We ordered our food and it was quick to come out. No more then 10 minutes. The food was still steaming and sizzling. Every dish we had was delicious. I got a chicken chimichanga, chicken taco, and shared a large shrimp cocktail with my dad. It was so good. The potions are good and the prices aren't high.
