Wow! This place is absolutely amazing. My boo and I came here twice in one week :-) When you walk into the restaurant you'll be greeted and then seated. There are TVs all around so this place might be good for watching the games. After you are seated someone brings out complimentary warm chips and salsa which taste really good. I believe if you want guacamole that's an additional cost. The service was really good here the both times I went. Each waiter came within a decent time and got our food out really fast. Now to the food and drinks. We did try the "big pacific blue margarita" and that was delicious. They are big and can easily be shared with another person. The steak fajitas from what my babe said was really good. The burrito Cancun and the lunch mayo quesadilla are also really good choices if your are pescatarian (these dishes has Shrimp). Overall we have found ourselves a nice Mexican restaurant that sells great not watered down drinks and great tasting food. We definitely recommend! read more

My experience. I work at said establishment, my time there was brief, during my stay the ice machine was serviced. You could eat off of the floors me I'd eat on a plate but that's just me. Great place to take your puppy as they have a patio. The food is exceptional, the service is up to par, the food is fresh delicious and beyond satisfactory. If you like margaritas this is most definitely the place you want to go. I like the Cadillac margaritas I'd never drive it but tu each there one. This is a great Mexican restaurant. I'm not sure whether they take reservations but I've been able to dine in with minimal wait whenever I've been here. There are plenty of options on the menu including both classic items like quesadillas and burritos and other options including steak platters or other specialties. I often enjoy ordering the guacamole which is made tableside, and of the entrees I've tried, I haven't found anything I didn't enjoy. The drinks are also good and generously portioned. Service is generally pretty attentive and the prices are reasonable, so this is has become one of my go to Mexican restaurants when I'm in the area. read more

Came here with one of my coworkers during lunch. I loved this place. It's at a great location and the interior feels very authentic to its culture. They gave us chips and salsa to start off. These were pretty good, nothing special though. They gave a lot of portions which was really nice. My coworker first ordered a Horchata to drink. She loves to order this drink and tends to use it as a prejudgment call for how good the food is. So if the horchata is good then the food will be good. If it's bad then the food will be bad. She said the horchata was really good so that gave us an idea on how the food would be. I ordered the Chori Pollo which was a platter with chicken and chorizo sausage. The chicken and the tortilla was a bit dry and as I was half way into my food, I started to notice how salty the food was. I liked the taste during the first few bites but then the sodium levels started to hit me. Other than that, the food was good. I always like to mix all of my foods together and then wrap that into the tortillas to eat. So I mixed the beans, rice, salad, chicken, and chorizo together, then wrapped that into the tortillas. Okay I got the fajitas and added a fried egg to it best decision I've ever made I also got chorizo instead of steak and man oh man this place knows how to do chorizo they cook it perfectly to keep all the flavors it's supposed to have they don't dry it out and make it flavorless. To start off, I grew up in Nevada and California so I'm coming at this review with a bias, but eating here was a very strange experience and was definitely designed for an American palette. I ordered the lunch combo with a burrito, taco, and chili relleno with rice and beans included for $12. Great price for sure! However, the predominant flavor for all the dishes was salt and it was very salty. The relleno was the strangest part. It was an Anaheim chili that was covered in ground beef with melted jack cheese on top. Service was good except when someone came by and grabbed our bowl of chips while we were eating them. This is mediocre service and food. I got the fajita for two dish and on both of our topping dishes were was l than a teaspoon of cheese for six fajitas. I requested additional cheese, was brought a cup of cheese and was charged an additional $.99. A good amount of our fajita was burnt and the steak and shrimp was over cooked. However, the flavors overall were good. It seemed to need a little salt. The service never refilled my water and I had to make multiple requests for the menu when I initially came inside. The chicken quesadilla was honestly the best quesadilla I've ever had. It was sooo flavorful and moist. We went around 8pm on a Friday, and our dinner came out ready in less then 10 minutes. I was shocked. My boyfriend got the steak tacos which he said weren't the greatest..not BAD, just rather plain. I was confused about the the $10 guac until I recieved a giant tub of guac and it all made sense. Not only was it a giant tub, it was fresh and yummy. I typically get the Arroz con Camarones and my husband likes the Chimichangas. Neither of these dishes ever disappoint. I think they could do better with their queso dip portion. It is barely enough for one person. And since we all know queso is like crack, they need to triple the amount they are giving you for $3.99. Also, if I order queso I should get extra chips along with the chips that come with my free salsa. It is known! read more

Finally! Finding good Mexican food in Maryland has been like looking for water in a desert. Outside of Baltimore city, the search becomes more and more difficult. Cinco de Mayo came highly recommended from some friends who moved to MD from Puerto Rico. I'm so glad I listened and follows through. My husband and I moved to Maryland recently and were looking to get some Mexican food and since this place seemed to have to great rates and the menu looked good too but my god was it horrible. I ordered the chicken chipotle bowl and my husband got the super burrito (VEGETARIAN -sub meats for extra beans). I got a mouthful of old chewy chicken with no chipotle flavor and the burrito was filled with a butt load of giant pieces of jalapeños and onions and NO BEANS or cheese. So disappointed. read more

As you will see through my reviews, I don't usually like giving 5 stars unless they actually deserve it. This place is a gem to me. Very nice people and atmosphere and the food is Muy delicioso. I've tried a few different things on their menu, last time I got enchiladas pollo (chicken), one of them with very spicy sauce and one of them with regular enchilada sauce, and it was made very well. If you look on the menu, there's really good combination deals and they will be happy to modify it for you. Great food and salsa, but there is a terrible sewage odor throughout the restaurant. We have smelt this foul odor on the last two visits. Last night was horrible. Won't be going back until this is addressed. Ruined a nice meal last night. We should have gotten up and left. If resturant is reading this, please get this issue fixed and I will fix this review. Their service was fantastic. My water was always filled and they came through numerous times to make sure we were good. The Fresh Guacamole was literally fresh as they put the dip together right in front of you. My brother's fish tacos were really good. They were't as tasty, but the textures, the feels in your mouth, no pun intended were marvelous. Just add a little bit of habanero hot sauce and the tacos were clearly the star of the night. However, the main entrees I'd get were mediocre at best. Their "homemade" Horchata barely had any flavor. It just tasted like a watered down cinnamon water with a hint of milk. Probably the worst I've ever had. The Cinco De Mayo platter wasn't great either. The crunchy taco tasted like the kind you'd get in a high school cafeteria and the rice felt like Uncle Ben's ready in 90 seconds. The rest of the food tasted pretty much the same. I'm not sure if it was because they were all sitting next to each other and had the same sauce smothering them, but it wasn't great. I have mixed feelings for this place. Half of it was good and the other half wasn't. I'll give this place another try sometime next year and will update my review. In the mean time, I'll keep going to my usual spot. read more

There's short-staffed, then there's this place. I think the bartender was one of two people working in the entire restaurant. Took forever to get drinks, had to hunt down menus, and we were never even able to place an order for food. Finished our drinks and left. Always enjoy trying new restaurants in the area. Decided to hit this place for lunch on a day off for everyone. Atmosphere was bright and festive. Not entirely unique in feel but plenty of table and booth space. The chips and salsa came quickly. Salsa was fresh and mild. We ordered the queso which was a unique blend to me - some ground beef and beans at the bottom made for a delightful blend when mixed up. The beef tips burrito and hard shell chicken taco were better than expected. Both were moist and flavorful. The rice was light and fluffy and the refried beans were even tasty. Perhaps the biggest surprise was the Churros with ice cream. Warm Churros covered in cinnamon sugar surrounded by a mound of ice cream and whipped cream, all drizzled in chocolate. Easily shared dish as is the fried ice cream. Service was exceptional! My glass of water was barely empty, dishes were promptly removed, and the server was very friendly to the point of getting some extra spicy salsa from the kitchen at my request. Great place!!! Excellent little find in the area. A true gem. Came in on a week day night. They were decently busy but we still were sat right away. We were served with standard chips and the perfect salsa I have ever had. It was spicy but flavorful without being over powering with nicely minced tomatoes and onions in it along with cilantro. I got the shrimp al la Mexicana which is absolutely delicious. It came with Spanish rice, beans, lettuce cheese and sour cream along with 3 corn tortillas. The shrimp were perfectly cooked with a slight crisp and seasoned something wonderful. Again spicy without being over powering. Flavorful enough not to get lost in my self made tacos. The 3 tacos we're enough to have me full with a couple shrimp left over and lots of rice, beans and other mixings left. But I was too full for it all. My friend got the chicken fajitas and was equally as happy. Lots of food, more then I could finish. But not really good that reheats well. So $20ish a plate for no left overs seems a little expensive to me for the type of establishment. Which is why I have he star deduction. But over all great and I will totally be returning. To recap. I stopped in for a take-home lunch shortly after the Cinco de Mayo opened for business. I waited in the front area for my food, but I could see that the restaurant, although kind of small, was nicely decorated. I had the Veggie Burrito a la Mayo and it was very tasty. It was filled with perfectly grilled zucchini, onions, peppers, and mushrooms and topped with a creamy sauce. The accompanying rice was a turn off, however. I get the impression that it was supposed to be flavored..it has a little color, but it was bland and flavorless. I happen to like rice, but not theirs'. It's probable that I'll visit the Cinco de Mayo again, but only for lunch. read more
