This business is the Barnum & Bailey abomination of sticking it to to the lowest common denomination. Where do I start? Serving cheesecake curated from Jetro Cash & Carry for $8 when a single serving is costing the owner less than fifty cents. The wine in the main theatre, Camelot, which is pumped from a keg, is costing the owner less than $1 a serving, and he's charging $9, served in a plastic cup. That single wine concession, outside of all the wine and booze coming in from Cinema Grill, goes through two kegs on a busy weekend night. That's 192 glasses of plunk, and you do the math for the profit margin. It's hard to blame the customers as they're a captive audience, and I certainly understand making a profit, but it should not come at the expense of serving a tin palate product. Per the additional numerous negatives about the food in Cinema Grill and scooped up to theatre patrons, it appears to be this owner's mission in life to get by on as little as he can and pocket as much as he can. read more

The server walked away from me a times, looked agitated when I inquired about their other specials and when I asked about my beverage that I didn't receive. We go to the movies all the time as we live super close and it's our favorite pastime so naturally we were thrilled when the restaurant opened and we had the option of drinks/food, but it took us a while try it. Unfortunately, after not one but FIVE bad experiences, we won't ever order food from here again to the adjacent theater. It doesn't come when it's ready it comes when everything everyone in the theater has ordered is ready (they come w/ a bunch of trays and pass it out). Four of the five times the food came cold. The first time I didn't want to leave the movie, but my husband complained afterward and they gave him a refund. Second and third time it was so cold I immediately returned it just so they could see and they didn't flinch, they said they'll bring another one up hot- but missing part of the movie to deal with it was pretty upsetting. And twice I had to check on the food because it took such a ridiculous amount of time (for an order of chicken tenders and fries? doesn't make sense). You pay more when getting it delivered to the theater, which makes sense except when it comes a quarter or a third way into the film (once 1/2 way through) and cold. We tried multiple times, on different days, hoping things would change, even ordered fries once instead of meals (thinking how could they serve cold fries- they did), but after all these times we are over it. In the restaurant the bar has great pours and friendly staff, but food overpriced for what it is- looks ready made and reheated. read more

Excellent service! We came in yesterday for the ginger creme brulee and they were all out. When we came in today for dinner, I believe the hostess remembered because our server introduced himself (Joseph), then told us he believed they had the creme brulee. So nice. The moscow mule is amazing! Very gingery and sweet. The ginger ale is a nice touch. Hubby got the cheese plate and a salad with steak. He liked the cheese plate, but said the salad lacked flavor. The steak was cooked well, but not flavorful. He had to get up and ask for salt and pepper. I got one of "today's specials": eggs and bacon. Deviled eggs, applewood bacon, and chives. So yummy! I also had the calamari, which lacked any flavor. Even the sauce that came with it was pretty bland. But, it was fried nicely and still yummy. The ginger creme brulee is yummy (and a bit weird). I'm texture sensitive, so creme brulee can be hit or miss with me. This one is more dense, which I like, with hunks of ginger in it. Surprisingly good. Although, about a third of the way, the novelty wore off and I didn't want to chew ginger anymore (too many hunks), so I started picking around the ginger. I took a star off because we came in earlier right before a movie and I wanted to order food to enjoy in the theater. The hostess was very helpful and helped us get movie tickets. I went to the bar to order food and the bartender never acknowledged me. He took his time with other customers. We were running late and it would've only taken a few minutes to order, but I grew impatient and headed to the theater. A slight acknowledgement goes a long way. I went to Cinema Grill today to have dinner. Food was great!! Can't complain there. Only thing is that there was a tall white gentleman wearing a red shirt, I'm not sure if he was a server or a manager, but this gentleman happen to be intoxicated while working! I'm always one to start with the bad and end with the good so here goes: Food - Fried Calamari appetizer - Cinema burger - Kid's pizza - Fish and Chips Bad - Waited 15 min and had to ask for waiter to take our order - Waiter didn't write down order so I was impressed until she came back 15 min and played off forgetting what appetizer was ordered. Describing how she played it off would take up an entire review. - $15 cold Fish and chips were the size of Happy meal. Each of the 3 pieces of fish were the size of a clothes pin. C'mon now, a filet o fish is bigger than all 3 combined. Good - Cinema grill burger ($15) was good with bacon ($2) on it. - Kid's pizza was decent size. - Sauce for fish and chips was tasty. Conclusion Tasty sauce and burger doesn't make up for lousy service nor being served overpriced fish bait. What a great find!! We were in the area yesterday and found this place on Yelp, so we decided to check it out. We sat in the bar, Victor came by and took our drink order. I decided to get a Mai Tai, which was the most unique, yet yummy Mai Tai I've ever had. I asked the bartender what was in it and he said it had Ginger, Orgeat Syrup, and Grapefruit Juice, along with a number of other things. For food we ordered Calamari to start. The Aioli was a little bland, but the Calamari was cooked perfectly. I also got the Chicken Lettuce Tomato Sliders, which also had Tomato Chutney. The chicken was crunchy and delicious. My husband got the Cinema Grill Burger, which was huge and yummy. It got kind of busy around 6pm, and there weren't enough waiters, so there was a bit of a wait for drinks, etc... THEY SERVED US A BURGER WITH A BITE IN IT! how could that possibly happen, clearly no one is checking the food before it's being served. After about 2 years of not going to a movie due to Covid obviously, my fiancé and I decided to go to one. We were hungry and decided to grab a bite at cinema grill, since they deliver your food straight to your seat in the theater. After like 30 minutes I kept seeing servers come w food look around and leave, I told my fiancé that I thought that was our food and they don't know where we were seated. (Even though seats are assigned!) So my fiancé goes to check and yes there was a mix up or something. We finally get our food and it's dark in the theater, so it's hard to see but my fiancé said something told him to look at the food first and there it was, a burger with a BITE in it! You would think that w Covid there are extra precautions, apparently not here! This restaurant needs to do better, that's completely unacceptable ! Covid or not! $8 BEER It's nice to be able to get food at the movies and have it brought to your seat, but eight bucks for a friggin' beer?! A beer should be $5 - 6 tops. Which makes the beer prices 33 - 60% higher than they should be. TIP: bring your own beer and sneak it in under your coat. Or just do without and head over to Lucky 13 up the street afterward. Our first time there. We went tonight mainly because they had music and I've got to say Larrie Noble and his group would get 5 stars, but not the restaurant. First of all we sat at a table, then we were told that the table was reserved. In all fairness it was a table for more than us two, so, no problem, we moved. Later on one person sat there and no one said anything. So then we sat at our new table for an 45 minutes, yes, 45 minutes, listening to the band with no wait staff coming around before I finally flagged down a waiter and asked for a menu. That was the first indication that the service was not all it could be. When our food arrived my wife got the the salmon salad instead of the seared salmon she had asked for. Rather than send it back and me sit with my food getting cold, she elected to settle for what they brought. The fish was okay, but saying the salad wasn't good would be a gross understatement. If it had any dressing on it, you couldn't tell. My fish & chips were okay. No "Sorry for the mix-up". We may go back and have a drink and listen to music, that was good, but no dinner. What a great spot to chill before or after your movie! They've got a killer happy hour and bottomless mimosas on Sunday until 2:30. I generally come here to buy my movie ticket and grab a drink to bring in, but I've also ordered their steak totchos (which were delivered to my movie seat! so flippin convenient, word to the wise though, if you order food through them to be delivered to your seat, make sure you're sitting in that seat, else they might accidentally give your food to whoever IS sitting in your seat, yikes!) and those were very tasty. Service is great and they totally accommodate where they can if you're in a rush! Plus, you can get reserved movie seating when you ordered tickets through them. Admittedly, I wasn't expecting much. Dinner at a movie theater didn't really hit home with me, but my girlfriend and I came here before seeing "Black Panther," and I was pleasantly surprised! I had pizza, she had a salad, and we both really enjoyed our meals. Every single time I go to the cinema grill I get great food, great drinks and great service. I have tried just about everything on the menu and a lot of the cocktails and can say 100% that its good. Its great to have some live music in the place....do I always like the music....maybe not but that is not CGs fault. Whats even better is that even my kid loves the food! Just one request from this fan, can you bring back "the creature from the black lagoon"? I had it once then it left the menu. I thought it was great. Not many places allow you to grab a cocktail and take it to the movie let alone order food to eat in there so good job guys. Cinema Grill is an awesome place! I really enjoyed their Wednesday karaoke night, and then Thursday would be Salsa night, the band on Thursday was great! I made a lot of friends there and the people who worked there were great. Ceasar the owner is a great guy. I also really enjoyed seeing my friend Ana Escobar and her band perform. I recommend the place, I haven't gone in months and I heard they switched karaoke to Friday nights before the pandemic started, but I'm curious how things will be @ there when everything returns to normal. read more

We came for brunch. The brunch menu is small. Slow service, mediocre food, boring decor, and bad music that played way too loudly. Our server Aaliyah had a great attitude, without her this would've been a one star review. The layout of this place is just bizarre too, but this isn't a design review. I had ordered the braised beef with poached eggs and potatoes. The potatoes lacked seasoning, they were probably microwaved, and whatever sauce they used was runny and tried to mask the fact that no attention was paid to detail. For $14 I expect more. My wife ordered the short stack pancakes. The menu should say 2 skinny pancakes. 2 pancakes is hardly a stack, and they served it with corn syrup. Not maple. This was my first time checking out the Cinema Grill and after my experience today I will not be returning. I am giving this place only 1 star because of the awful service we received. And really, we received basically no service at all. We arrived at 12:30pm to have a nice lunch before catching a movie next door for a 1:50pm showing. Our party was sat at our table immediately, however, we proceeded to sit for the next 15 minutes without so much as a "hello" or "I'll be with you shortly" from a waiter. So the next time a waiter walked by we flagged him down and advised no one had come to our table yet, but he advised he was dropping off food to another table and would come back. A few minutes later, someone who appeared to be a manager came to take our order. It was clear he wasn't very comfortable taking orders as we all had to repeat ourselves several times. 15 more minutes go by and we haven't even gotten drinks yet so we got up, tracked down the manager and they finally brought the drinks a few minutes later. Keep in mind, I bought bottomless mimosas but it took over 30 minutes to even get my first one! And when the manager brought the drinks, he didn't apologize for the wait, in fact he didn't even say 1 word to us. Another 20 minutes go by without a single person coming to check on us, not even for water refills (which we all needed) or to provide an update on the food. When I was ready for another mimosa, I had to get up and go ask for another because it was clear no one cared to service our table. When the food finally arrived, it was delivered by an actual waiter. He apologized and explained it was his first day. The bacon was pretty underdone for a couple of us. Other than that, the food was ok, but nothing special and certainly not worth waiting nearly an hour for. When we paid the check, again we had to walk it up to the waiter because they were taking too long and we were about to be late for our movie. Honestly this is the worst service I have ever experience at a restaurant. I understand being short staffed or having new employees, but I take my issue with management's complete lack of regard for their customers. Food, Booze and a movie! Say no more! This restaurant/cinema hook up has finally got this "chocolate in my peanut butter" dilemma correct! My friend and I took in a movie at the Alameda Cinema, but since we had 2 hours to our show, we ate in. But finding out that you can order food and drink (yes BOOZE) and your show tickets in one place is wonderful! Also you can order in the theater and have it brought to you. They place your order in these sturdy lap trays. However, we ate and drank in the restaurant. Still looks likes Angela's, but the food was better. TV's scattered. Disappointed that only bar stools (cheap ones) are available for the main area. They are not comfortable and those of us who are physically challenged...have a heart and an option. Order from Happy Hour the Baby Kale Cesar salad (large serving), pizza, two orders of fish tacos (good and spicy), a margarita and two whisky sours. We were full and I didn't break $60 before tip. Nice. The food was really good as were the drinks...well too much sweet in margarita for my friend. I knock off a star for the bar stools. The star is for the guy who took our order, he was very courteous.... But the food was terrible, and ridiculously expensive. For almost $40 (at lunchtime) my daughter and I ordered a cheeseburger, garlic fries, cheese pizza, and two non alcoholic drinks. So- the burger I ordered medium was burnt to a CHAR, and so dry I used all the ketchup for my fries to eat it... The Garlic fries I ordered had no garlic whatsoever and were soggy... And my daughters' cheese pizza was burnt on the edges yet soggy in the middle, I am not even sure how they achieved that on one pie. The first sign to leave should have been the fact that the waitress was eating lunch from somewhere else, and the second that we were literally the only people in there. It was thoroughly disappointing, you would think if you only had one order to fill you could do that right. The sad part is, this was a special mother daughter date for my daughters birthday, and unfortunately it was tarnished by a very bad lunch experience. Thank God Secret Lives of Pets was hilarious.... I called the office once the movie got out to let them know we were unsatisfied, and I received no call back. Guess they don't care about customer satisfaction. You are better off sneaking in a burrito (Ramiro and Sons) or Gyro (Troy's) to the movies, for 1/4 of the price and 100% more satisfying. read more

The French 75 cocktail ($10) is really refreshing (gin, lemon, sparking wine) and it's cool they have a late night happy hour. I had a Neptune's Pale for $5. I also shared a kale Caesar salad. I'm a huge Caesar salad fan and this spin on the classic (used baby kale, included pickled red onions) was really nice. I'd definitely order again. It was pretty dead on a Friday night after the live music was over (around 9pm) and continued to be pretty empty until closing. Don't get me wrong, I love this Theater and they have done almost everything right. But they have just introduced a new concept which seems very exciting and innovative but in reality is a huge blunder. The theater has partnered with the adjacent cinema grill to offer dinner and a movie. This is really cool. You can either purchase beer and wine and a few entree style food offerings through the theatre snack bar (awesome) or eat in the restaurant and get front row seats to the movie and enter the theater through a side door from the restaurant. This is seemingly awesome too except for how it is executed. The entire front row was RESERVED for the Cinema Grill for a 4:30 show we went to and not one single person showed up to claim the reserved seats. Meanwhile the rest of the theater filled up and paid regular patrons were forced to sit either in the far back or far front due to this whole row being blocked off. It doesn't seem too complicated to enact a better reserved system that would release the unused seats? Maybe a 15 minute cutoff before show time? Or people should be able to occupy the seats until they are claimed!?! At the very least, normal patrons should be made aware that the front row seats are now unavailable because they are reserved for people who eat at the Cinema Grill. read more

I had a simple order of fried chicken sliders and an order of fried mozzarella. It was beyond horrible. The chicken was ice cold. The Mozzarella balls were hollow and the little bit of mozzarella was hard as a rock. In the hollow of the fried ball was the nasty grease from their fryer. All this for about $35.00. NEVER AGAIN! Wednesday night date night with my wife - movie at Alameda Theatre. Ordered 2 drinks - took nearly 20 minutes (curious happening as there were 2 people working the bar and the restaurant was not overly crowded or busy) and over $20 for 2 plastic 10 ounce cups. The bartender's version of a mojito involved rolling a mint leaf in his hand and placing it on top of the drink - my fault for not tasting it before I left the bar, because it was a margarita on the rocks instead of a mojito. I appreciate their partnership with Alameda Theatre and the combined attempt at providing a different entertainment experience to movie-goers, but first thing's first - Cinema Grill is a restaurant that needs to be a good restaurant FIRST! One of the best brunches I have ever had! We wandered into Cinema Grill for brunch before catching a matinee next door. To be honest, we weren't expecting much as the place was not full. To our pleasant surprise, the brunch menu offered a more than average fare. My husband had the salmon toasts--a very generous portion--that was both delicious and satisfying. My daughter has the half stack pancakes--EXCELLENT and highly recommended! The pancakes are made with lemon ricotta, so they're not very sweet, but pair perfectly with the maple syrup. I had the polenta and eggs with truffle cream! This dish was heavenly! Cinema Grill will definitely be at the top of our weekend brunch list! read more

the ginger flan was wonderful, mainly because there was no taste of ginger, but the main courses were cold. we ordered lamb chops, they were properly prepared (well and medium, but lukewarm and the mashed potatoes cold. The flank steak and new york steak were mixed up and the server was very gracious and offered to take them back, but then half of our party would be eating at different times, so we kept those plates and didn't bother complaining about the cold food. And management PLEASE train your servers not to refill water by picking up the glasses on the rim!! EEWW, I do not want my lips touching where the servers fingers were. Lack of attention to detail. Wow, exceptional! Very friendly. We were offered seats in the bar but decline because we wanted a table. The host accomodated us and told us it would be 10 minutes. We we're seated and our server came over and was very pleasant and had a wealth of knowledge about the food and wine. I ordered the gumbo, wife ordered flank steak and my daughter ordered the pasta. Presentation was okay, gumbo and pasta were tasty. Flank steak could have been better quality. Daughter had vanilla ice cream which was very good. Overall, things were fine; good menu choices; nice portions; good movie theater combo concept. Would suggest the following for an improved experience: - If going to the movies is part of the restaurant's concept, you'd think that if we buy movie tickets from the server, the server would be more mindful of helping us get to the movie on time (and not lag with our food boxes or the bill). Seemed like it took unnecessarily long. (We were there over 90 minutes before our movie time, so there should have been plenty of time.) And our server didn't seem very knowledgeable about how to sell us the tickets, and also didn't tell us we can reserve actual designated seats, as we were "kicked out" of our seats in the theater unknowing that the seats had been designated to someone else. Perhaps a little more training about the movie ticket concept for servers. - Serve the food hot. All our dishes were served mildly warm, and I'm not talking about our salad. - Clean the tables better. I was waiting for a friend, and she mentioned that I could sit at the bar and sample the spirits - Extraordinary service! The waitress was knowledgeable of every item on the menu - The cheese platter is to die for! the Gorgonzola cheese dripped with honey...yumm! - I ordered the "Cinema Grill Burger" and it was everything! juicy, and delicious - Next time I'll go check out a movie, and take my food into the theater - BRILLIANT! read more

I love the concept of this restaurant and think the food and drinks are great. However, the service in general is weak. The bar is exceptionally slow. It's tolerable when everything else is okay, but very very frustrating when there are errors with an order or the other service is lacking. I want to like it more and will return, but I never have confidence that the meal will be a great experience. read more

The food is pretty meh, and kind of overpriced. But it's a cute place and it's got a fun vibe when they have live musicians - the jazz group playing the last couple of times I was there were awesome. Could have used more vegan options, some of my friends didn't have much to eat. read more
