As my wife and I normally do on a day where we cant decide on what to eat, we decide to go out to eat and find a place we have never been to before. Well, that being said we stumbled on Ciros Pizza Cafe. When we first approached the door, we were not sure on if we were able to sit down and eat but after walking inside there was not alot of places to sit, but there was a table that we found that we could sit at. After we looked over the menu several times, we finally decided to order Calzones. I got a customize your own Calzone with Portugese Linguica, Mushrooms and Black Olives and my wife got the Calzone Classic. For our appetizer we ordered the Goofy Stix. Let me tell you, the service at the restaurant was great. The staff were very friendly and accomodating, asking as we sat at our table if we needed anything. We walked to their Soda Fountain and got ourselves drinks. We sat at our table for maybe 5 minutes when they brought out the Goofy Stix. Let me tell you, those were wonderful, Cheesey, Garlicy sticks that when paired with a dipping sauce of your choice, is very delicious. After about 10 minutes they brought out our Calzones and they were hot, and cheesy and as my wife said last night "Not alot of bread but alot more toppings inside" Which was true. Most calzones you eat have way too much breading and not alot of toppings. But in this case it was the other way around. Way more toppings inside the calzone and not alot of bread. The environment of this place is your usual Pizza Parlor and while they did have Tv's on for us to watch, we normally kept to our usual conversations just because we really enjoy each others company. Yeah we did peep out the tv's every now and then just because we were curious what was on their Tv's but after having of visited this place, we told the Staff that we would be back. I ordered a thin crust, which feel like is the only way to go. I got a large double pepperoni for like $23 and it was soooo good. Honestly this place is up there. First time I went I wasn't a huge fan, but I think it's because I got a thicker crusts and I like mine a little more well done. Definitely go for the thin crust if you check them out. ***Update. I ordered a normal crust today and it was good, but the dough wasn't really cooked all of the way. You could tell it was a bit chewy and had that raw dough taste at the top right beneath the cheese. It was still amazing, but I have to emphasize eating the thin and crispy crust because that's their best pizza. read more

When Ciro's was at it's previous location at Blue Ravine and Turnpike I was not a fan. I was craving pizza the other day and was going to return to one of my old haunts, Round Table. Their reviews were awful. Ciro's came up in my search and had really good reviews, so I took a chance. I got a small pizza with sausage and pepperoni and 5 wings. The pizza was good. I got the regular crust and it was just a little doughy to me. I might try a thinner crust next time (yes, I will definitely return). The wings were crisped up a bit and they provided a nice bit of crust. I'm happy that I tried Ciro's again, and I do plan to return. read more

I dropped on in to grab a couple of pizza slices for Hubs and I. I bought a cheese slice $5 and a pepperoni and sausage slice $6. They were delicious. And a bargain! The slices were pretty huge. They're cut from a cheese pizza and topped before being thrown into the oven for a reheat. Th slices are served hot from the oven. The crust had a great bake to it. For a reheat, it didn't dry it out. By the taste and look, I wouldn't have known it was a re-fire. Mmm they tasted great. They were pretty generous with the toppings. So much so that I was able to take some pepperoni and sausage to put onto the cheese slice. They use quality ingredients. Everything tasted great. Customer service was great. It was just one person staffed up front. He took orders, put the orders together, operated the oven, and took payments. He did use and change gloves. He seamlessly moved around going about the tasks. Edit: I 100% agree with Kevin with the freshness comes additional cost so it is understandable. And I will honestly say their pizza sauce tastes soooo good and the crust is ridiculous!!! My gonna lie at first glance this place seems really expensive for pizza.... I mean $12 for 2 slices of pizza and a drink seems kind of outrageous when you can spend that for damn near a whole pizza.. so I asked about prices and to mee I still think it's a little expensive. A 15 in cheese pizza which is a large that feeds about 4 people 12 slices is $29!!!! Do not get me wrong the pizza is actually delish I can honestly say I like it. But it's just a little pricey. The thing that sold this for me was LUKE. Super friendly super knowledgeable too bad he is leaving this place cuz his personality sells the pizza. I tried this place on a Friday just after noon at the recommendation of Folsom Chat on FB. I've passed by this place mutliple times as I was already happy with my usual go to pizza places. The place looks great inside with a large wall menu (doesn't display prices), pizza ovens, and small bar style tables for dining in. The cashier Alex was very friendly and explained the menu. I opted for a large half pepperoni - half cheese pizza for my kids, custom calzone with spinach, mushrooms, ricotta cheese and marinara sauce on the side, and mini cinnamon rolls all to go. I waited about 15-20 minutes. When I got home I dug in and devoured my calzone which tasted amazing, sampled a couple pizza slices, and ate 2 mini cinnamon rolls. Overall I was very pleased. The pizza looked nice and tasted above average but wasn't worth the price of $30. The cinnamon rolls were good but not on the level of Cinna-bon. I was given coupons for next time which will definitely help out since the prices are a bit high. My bill total was $59.64. Not sure I'll be back. read more

Tried this place for a lunch a few days ago as we were looking for a quick bite to eat during the lunch hour and so glad we did. The pizza was good and overall had good flavor and the combo special 2 slices and a drink for $12.00 was not a bad deal. Overall the ambiance was small town pizza place with limited seating and more of take out or perhaps delivery place than an eat in place. The service was awesome!! Within the 35 to 40 minutes we were there the employees came by our table 3 times to see if we needed anything or had questions. On their last check in they offered us some coupons for our next visit which I thought was very nice. I feel like eating not-Costco pizza today so I immediately called Ciro's and this place had been in my radar for a while. I ordered the "mountain top" pizza. This has classic red sauce, fresh minced garlic, mozzarella and Monterey jack cheese blend, pepperoni, smoked ham, black olives, fresh mushrooms, salami, red onions, sausage, fresh tomatoes, and bell peppers. I was so excited! It took 30 minutes for my order to be ready on a Tuesday morning around opening time. The box felt hefty and when I opened it, I was a little disappointed because the pizza toppings, while they looked substantial, they were just piled on top of the crust. There was very little cheese to hold everything together. If you look at the picture, the toppings barely made it on the crust from box to plate travel. The crust also did not taste freshly baked at all. I'm glad I availed of the 30% Tuesday off as I wouldn't t pay full price for the quality of this pizza. I hope this is a one off. I will certainly give them another try next time. Edit to add: While the owner claimed that the crust is baked daily, mine was underbaked so I have to clarify that. It could be fresh but underbaked so taste is still off. read more

Today my sweetheart and I stopped by Ciro's and ordered a pizza to have in-house, rather than always to go or delivered. What a great experience! We ordered a large Popeye's pizza (vegetarian with spinach) and a couple of iced teas. As we sat down, we had one of the staff come by and handed us a couple of plates and brought a shaker of parmesan cheese. We could watch him tend the pizza in the oven; checking, turning, moving from front to back, checking temperatures, very high level of detail in his work. When he was finished getting it prepared, he brought it over to us, and he was very quietly proud of his work. OMG! We like Ciro's pizza, but getting one fresh out of the oven- the thin crispy crust, the stretchy cheese, the warm pesto and fresh vegetables, WOW! When the employee, Stephen, came by and asked how things were, we both couldn't stop talking about how much better it was like this-fresh from the oven. He smiled and explained about the effect of steam and how boxing them can change them a little. This afternoon it was a bit slow in the store, so in between taking orders and getting to go orders out promptly, we found out some details about Shephen and how Ciro's does things. First of all, Ciro's has been around for over 30 years, in which 10 of them Stephen has worked for them. He really is passionate about his work, and takes pride in making a quality product-and it shows. Here are some things that we learned about Ciro's: -They make their dough from scratch daily, and proof it for 72 hours -They shread their own cheese daily from very large blocks daily -Fresh vegetables are used on their pizzas There is certainly a level of pride put into the products they make, and it really shows in quality and taste. We dined in as they have seating and a few tvs. Seating was comfortable and casual. When the pizza came out I was pleasantly surprised! We noticed this place leaving target one day and I googled them quickly to see if they had gluten free pizza as I have celiac disease. Which I read, They serve an11 inch cauliflower crust. We stopped in right before lunch and the person taking our order was extremely friendly and had a smile on his face. We took forever to order as we read through the menu and decided but he was patient and explained any question we had and the menu thoroughly. It's a small place with a couple bar top tables and one dining table style. They also have outside seating which is nice. They have a great drink & beer selection as well. We ordered 1 personal, a cauliflower crust pizza and a large salad. The salad came out promptly and the person bringing us our entrees was extremely friendly and talkative. I work nearby & a coworker suggested I try Cirro's, so I did & it did not disappoint; I got the 2 slices & a drink combo for $14 & the slices are quite big, I only ate one for lunch & I saved the other for dinner. I especially appreciated that they offer to cut the slices in half but just in general, the pizza is absolutely delicious & they're super generous with the toppings if you like to pick some off to eat but also not end up with cheese pizza. Also noteworthy crust, I'm an oversized child & usually only eat the crust that has toppings on it, but their crust is usually yummy lol read more
