I can here on a whim on a Sunday afternoon at almost 2pm and hour before the happy hour special was to end. My friend and I did the bottomless tacos and drinks. The tacos that I would typically order, Birra or Asada were not included. Each serving of tacos came with 2 so my friend and I ordered 1 order of all tacos that were available in special. I certainly would not recommend the chicken and the fish taco did not meet expectations. It had potential but is was fried batter. To my suprise the best one that was really good was the taco campana, which is an American hard shell taco. The drinks were decent especially to be part of the special, and they will sneak up on you. They provide quality services and was attentive but I will say there were not many people. The real star was the overall vibe and decor. Sitting there made me feel like I should have been sitting on a beach club somewhere in the Caribbean. I would give a strong 3.5 (but since there are no half stars, lets round up) as I only had a very limited part of there menú. But would say everything they bought out to other tables look good.
I thought the ambiance, food and service were great! The place was beautiful, reminded me of Mexico City. Food was amazing, especially the corn ribs, cornbread and drinks! Servers were attentive and came over frequently! Thought the price was a little high but not outrageous. Would definitely come back!
We got here around Sunday 1pm and they were packed. We fortunately were able to get a table after waiting a few minutes but things seem busy perhaps because of their $40 tacos/cocktails brunch deal? We ordered 2 orders of the filet mignon tacos which are tender and well seasoned. These are my wife's favorite tacos here and I could see why. We also got the nachos with ground beef and they toss this beforehand, so that the cheese is evenly spread but actually didn't get soggy. Rosemary blush and cucumber fizz were both good; the Moscow mule was good too but a little too intense with the raspberry for my preference. For dessert, we got the horchata donut which comes in hot! I love a good hot/cold combo and this hit.
Legit one of the best dining experiences I've ever had! We went on a Thursday night for my best friend's bday. We made reservations and got seated immediately. They were playing live salsa music for 2.5 hours. So lovely and fun. People dancing but still felt very intimate. The food was SOOO goood. We had the corn ribs, kale Caesar salad, nachos, chicken tacos and butternut squash tacos. The flavor palette is insane here!! The service was SO fast and everyone was extremely attentive. Lina was amazing! We stayed all night and had a blast. The mocktails are splendid and my friend enjoyed her drinks and the prices are not bad at all!!!!! You should 100% come here if you want a great night out! Thank you Citrico!
The food was really good at Citrico. We ordered corn ribs, nachos with steak, enchiladas with crab and shrimp, and carnitas tacos. I was blown away by the corn ribs and enchiladas. Would totally go back for those and also try the fish tacos for sure. Now, what we did not expect was the extremely slow service. We asked for a water refill that we never received. We asked for to-go containers which took forever. Upon getting seated, the server sat us at a table temporarily and asked us to move to the corner table after it was cleaned. It felt really disjointed to us. Perhaps it was an off night and there is usually more than one server? The table beside us also waited over 30 minutes for their dessert. We will consider ordering food from here in the future because it was done well. I do hope this isn't the typical experience.
I went here for brunch with a few friends on a weekend. We did the unlimited taco and cocktail deal for 90 minutes. It's a great deal for $40 and the tacos are so good. My favorite tacos were the summer squash and the chicken tacos. The summer squash tacos had a layer of crispy melted cheese and the chicken was marinated well. The cocktails were solid. The cocktails included in the deal are limited beer, mimosas, sangria, and frozen margaritas or mezcalitas. Flavors are available for an extra cost. Frozen beverages would be great for the summer, but we couldn't drink too many of them in December. We made a reservation, but the restaurant wasn't too busy that you wouldn't be able to find a seat walking in. I really liked the ambiance and the decorations. The vibe is upbeat, bright and boho-chic. I also really liked their glassware for drinks. The service was really fast and friendly. They were really attentive initially, but became less so into the brunch even though the crowd was pretty consistent throughout brunch.
We went for brunch on a Saturday at 11am and it wasn't crowded at all. The staff was really nice and it's a very clean and spacious restaurant. The brunch food wasn't great. The torta was nothing special and a little dry. And the chilaquiles tortilla chips were all soggy. So the main dishes weren't enjoyable. BUT the star of it all was the Horchata Donut. I'm glad we stuck through it and ordered it at the end of the meal. It was warm and had a nice crunchy shell yet the inside was soft and fluffy. The ice cream paired perfectly with it and what I assume is a sprinkle of tajin on top added a little tang that complemented the flavor so well. I also appreciate that they give you the donut hole as well :) Overall, I'd go back for the donut in a heartbeat. And maybe I could be convinced to try some dishes off their dinner menu.
Had an awesome brunch! We were a group of 8. Everything was scrumptious. The pico de gallo, the fish, chicken and spicy beef, eggs, guac, soft tacos and nachos, and the sangria was perfect! Excellent place to get together with friends and relax. The service was great. I'm in Brooklyn but I will definitely return soon-- after the snow melts!
Im taking off one star due to the experience I had towards the end of the night but overall this place is AMAZING! It is absolutely so beautiful and calm here. I went on a Thursday night for my sisters birthday with her best friend. We were seated right away in their second level area that overlooks the restaurant (remember that part) and were lucky to catch happy hour. We took advantage of the drinks and $1 oysters. The entrees were to die for. All of our dishes were delicious. For dessert we acted like we were ordering something but it was for them to sing her happy birthday and it was so cute. We were able to catch a live salsa band and that fillllllled my heart! I'm a heavy salsa lover. Being that we were seated above and behind the band, another waiter came and told us to move to the bar which we went to do until our waiter came and stood infront of me and demanded I pay our bill. She said we aren't allowed to move tables unless we pay. I told her we were just moving down to the bar and are actually going to order more drinks. But she refused and was even pushing the paying terminal towards me. I just paid and we ended up leaving after that happened. It just left such a sour feeling. That was so weird. Never experienced that. I don't know if she thought we weren't going to pay- but was not the case at all. I'd still recommend the place. Just take that into account I guess
The ambiance is beautiful at this Cafe across from Kaufman Astoria Studios. Beautiful chandeliers and ceilings. Service was good, except we kept being approached for our order. Give us a few minutes please. We also were told near the end of our dinner (which we ordered off the Happy Hour menu) that there was a 90 minute time limit on our reserved table. The hostess, while very sweet, went to show us where it was on the menu. It wasn't there. Turns out it was on their older menus. We were almost done and she had no problem, but I thought that was kinda rude. The food was really interesting, but good. I had 2 dozen oysters ($1.50 each during Happy Hour), a Birria taco and a fish taco. So good! The Strawberry Margarita was meh. Also ordered at the table was guacamole and chips, more tacos, more drinks, etc. I'd give it 5 stars if we were told about the 90 minutes at the beginning of the meal or when my cousin made the reservation.
Found this spot by chance, and I'm so glad I did! It ended up being such a hidden gem. We arrived just after brunch hours had ended--so unfortunately, we missed it this time around--but that just gives me the perfect excuse to come back! Even without a reservation, we were seated right away, which was a nice surprise. The staff was super welcoming and efficient, and the overall vibe of the place was on point. There was a live DJ spinning tracks, and the music created a fun, upbeat atmosphere without being overwhelming. You could tell everyone was enjoying themselves. The food and drinks absolutely hit the mark. Everything we ordered was fresh, flavorful, and well-prepared. The cocktails were especially good--balanced, refreshing, and definitely crafted well. From the outside, you'd never guess this place has such a great setup. It doesn't immediately scream "hot spot," but once you step inside, the energy completely shifts. It's cozy but lively, and the ambiance makes it feel like you stumbled onto a best-kept secret. I'm already looking forward to coming back--especially to finally try their brunch! If you're looking for a place with good vibes, great music, and quality food and drinks, definitely check this place out.
The food here is delicious! My seafood enchiladas were filling and seasoned well. I dropped a star because the service wasn't great. Although our server was nice and friendly, it took her 10 mins to take our drink orders and another 15 mins to come back and take our food order. At one point I had to go up and get her to come and bring our checks.
Tucked away on a quieter avenue far from the busy Broadway bustle, you will find where people go for birthdays, bachelorettes, anniversaries and date nights at Citrico. The party vibe transforms the venue into that of another city, nostalgic of Miami or Mexico City. The food is some of the trendiest you'll find on the block and in the neighborhood. On Friday nights you'll find the DJ spinning his latest hits, multiple sparklers lighting up big cakes and a photographer visiting every table offering to capture the moment. This is definitely a place for celebrations and special occasions, but probably not a quiet night out. Though the taco trio platters are a must, I highly recommend the mushroom chicharron--it is unlike anything I've ever tried. Perfectly umami, sweet, spicy and savory. It was tempting not to get three more! The birria tacos come with au jus and are a true highlight, as are the Baja fish tacos that come perfectly battered and topped with picked onion, salsa fresca and avocado. I also recommend the guac to start, which is a generous portion and very well made. Their menu has some fantastic vegetarian options that are so delicious! Definitely recommend the corn ribs, cauliflower either in entree or tacos, and vegetarian enchiladas. Some standouts are also the unique dessert options. Our server suggested the blueberry cornbread and dulce de leche cheesecake and the plates were licked clean! Citrico is a real gem in Astoria that has earned its success and likely continue to draw in big crowds for memorable nights out. Highly recommend taking your friends there for a fun night out!

Gorgeous restaurant! Absolutely beautiful decor and great ambiance. Food was delicious ! The fish tacos were to DIE for! I had the chilaquilles my tortillas were a little soggy but still so good. My boyfriend had the steak and eggs and he loved it. Great price point for quality of food. Drinks were also great. I had a cool spicy marg he had a buena Sandia. Both were strong and fresh. The service was subpar. It was an early Friday afternoon. Only a few tables. The place was nearly empty. Our server and the hostess were both dry and not friendly. We asked for the check and waited so long. Understaffed? Poorly managed ? Hard to say. A restaurant with this aesthetic and food quality really deserves quality staff to elevate the space. The ambiance, decor, and food were all excellent. I went for lunch and was not disappointed. I had the shrimp ceviche and tuna tostada; melt-in-your-mouth soft tuna packed with flavor. Also on our table was a burger that came with the most delicious hot fries. We enjoyed the pink and red sangria, and they definitely weren't light on the alcohol! I would highly recommend this place and plan to return very soon. The staff was attentive but also gave us the space we needed for a conversation. read more

Was in Queens a couple of weeks ago for a flower event and the girls and I decided that food was definitely needed to complete the itinerary for that evening. We all jumped in one car and fumbled with our phones to find an eatery. When Citrico Cafe was suggested we all said yes and the close proximity to where we were was an added bonus. It was a Monday evening, we found street parking across the street, and was seated as soon as we entered. Spacious with, warm natural wood tones and ample seating. They also have an elevated "cat walk" bar display wall. Sadly we missed Happy Hour by 20 mins and there was no flexibility on the clock. To start we decided on chips & Guac, corn ribs, and I ordered the chicken tortilla soup. These items offered a great first impression. The Guac was nicely flavored and not bland. The corn ribs were cooked perfectly and seasoned well. The chicken tortilla soup gave me the comfort food hug I needed and thankfully was not overly salty. For entrees we all ordered the Branzino. Again flavored and cooked perfectly as well as light and flaky. For cocktails we tried a couple of Mezcalitas, Citrico Margarita and the Sotolita. All the drinks were good except for the Sotolita, which I was force to send back, was absolutely not a fan. Overall a great dining experience and our waitress Mabel was a gem. Definitely looking forward to returning and hopefully I get to try their Happy Hour. Just A Note: They have a weekend Taco Brunch that also looks like it's worth a try. read more

My boyfriend and I walked in on a Saturday night and sat at a table in the covered outdoor area. I tried: + Nectar de Los dioses cocktail + Frozen blood orange margarita + Corn ribs + Baja fish tacos + Flautas de pollo + Shrimp tacos The food came out wayyy too quickly - everything showed up at the exact same time and only a few mins after we ordered - but it was all super delicious. Fish tacos and flautas were the best. Corn ribs were also great. The misses were the shrimp tacos and Nectar de Los dioses cocktail (honestly, both drinks were meh) - wouldn't get those again. Our party had a lovely time at Citrico Cafe!! All the food was delicious and excellent, the servers were so kind and lovely! The only issue I had was that my order for my CMAC burger kept getting lost for some reason. Our entire table got their entrees, and my friend even ordered some fries after the orders were placed and they still got to the table before my burger did. It was delicious when I finally got it! The waiter Mike is so kind and really wants to make sure you enjoy your experience. The staff is open to adjusting things to your liking without a problem. Looking forward to going on a Tuesday night for mariachi. The place decorated very nicely and the ceviche was so tasty and the nachos were great but could benefit from using less cheese as the chips become very soggy. Finally got a chance to try this place and let me just say YES. The ambiance, the service, the food, the drinks -- everything was chefs kiss. They have a pretty good happy hour deal that includes both food and drinks, we love that! Their shrimp ceviche is easily some of the best i've ever had and the baja shrimp tacos were pretty good. Pro tip: If you're looking to visit here on a thursday and you're on a date or out with a friend and you want to talk, they do do live music on thursdays starting at 8. Something to consider if you don't want to be yelling over the music/band. Will def be back again! read more

Reasonable price for the portion sizes. I couldn't even finish the pancakes because I got full 2/3 way through. You could probably split the masa pancakes with someone and get another smaller dish/side to go with it if you wanted. The drinks were good, too (berry mule and margarita). The servers were very friendly and they refilled our waters & checked on us frequently. The decor was cute and the restaurant had bright natural lighting during the day which was great. Definitely recommend this place for breakfast/lunch/brunch! :) read more

Yum! We made reservations during happy hour. When you walk in, the music is extremely loud but it seems to fade once you are settled and eating. We got guacamole and chips. So fresh and delicious! We also got the corn ribs. Cool idea! Juicy and just the right spice! I got the chicken tortilla soup. So full of chicken and vegetables and strips of tortillas. Delicious and hot! My dinner mates got various tacos, I got a side of beans and rice. The apps and soup was enough for me. They loved the tacos. The place is bright, the staff is friendly and the food is delicious and the drinks are great, especially during happy hour! read more
Delicious cocktails, great attentive service, cool vibe, delicious food. Early-ish dinner on a Saturday night at 6 pm for 2 ppl (reserved in advance). By the time we left after 8 the place was full inside and some people were even at the semi-outdoor area on a cold night. The cocktails were amazing! I'd come back for the horchata martini alone! The friend I was with is mostly vegetarian. We chose this place due to recommendation from one of my friends as well as the vegetarian-friendly food offerings. Luckily our awesome server is "pescatarian" so she was able to give recommendations about veg-friendly menu items. We shares the chicharrone de hongos (mushroom) quesadilla - great balance of savory, sweet and spicy! My friend had the butternut squash tacos and I had the shrimp tacos (2 pieces per order). For drinks she had the Cool Spicy Margarita (said it was just the right amount of spice without being overwhelmning) and I had the horchata martini. SO DELICIOUS we were satiated enough to not need to add a side of rice & beans or order dessert but the dessert offerings look delicious! We happened to be seated in a corner table under a speaker - a little loud but we could still hear each other speak and didn't hear the other tables' conversations. Highly recommend! read more

I've only heard good things about this place and I decided to finally try it out. Walking in this spot I was instantly met with beautiful decor inside, the lighting is a little dim but it's still a vibe. Let's get into the food though... Drinks were super bomb (Mango & Guavo Margarita) The Carne Asada fries were to die for, the flavors were tooooo good! The guac was perfect and fresh and the steak was perfect, the rice and beans were also so creamy and good. We got three tacos from happy hour menu and all of them were good but the Filet Mignon Tacos were 11/10 !!!!! Super cute place for date nights read more

I've come here for dinner and happy hour many times as it has quickly climbed the ranks of my local favorites! My go to apps are the guacamole and their famous corn ribs. The guac is good, doesn't stand out but it's hard to turn down guac but if you like corn, the corn ribs are not to be missed! The cob is roughly quarter which allows it to curl in the a rib like manner, they are seasoned to perfection with crema and tajin. An appetizer I sometimes get as an entree is the Hongos Al Pastor Quesadilla, very delicious, flavorful and well portioned. Another entree favorite are the squash tacos. They have great happy hour deals and I highly recommend the mezcalita! Smooth, not overly sweet and lightly smokey. Last but not least the horchata donut is one of my favorite desserts anywhere! It's very shareable as the donut is dense but each bite packs so much flavor. The staff is also great, super welcoming and friendly. I can't wait to visit for brunch! read more

Location is very nice in a more calm space with decent parking. Citrico cafe has a modern pretty interior with an option of inside or outside enclosed seating. Staff is very kind & checked up multiple times through dinner- Making sure we had drinks and that our food was good. Also let us choose where we wanted to be seated which is so great in my opinion. All the food was a 10/10 tasted fresh and seasoned exceptionally well. Our wait time for food was fast in a reasonable time manner. This service was great and our orders came out together. This is definitely a great date place or a night out with your friends type of spot. Very peaceful and great music. read more
This place is such a blessing to Astoria! I've been to this place at least 6 times for their HH, brunch, and dinner---I couldn't recommend this cute spot more! It's a breath of fresh air as it feels like you've been transported to Mexico. There's also a DJ playing sometimes upstairs to give you a fun vibe. Every entree and app you can get is going to be delicious...there isn't one I wouldn't recommend. To start off, my favorites would be the raw oysters (they use their special sauce) and their guac is to die for. As far as drinks go, I'm a tequila gal so anything margarita related has always been so delicious with cute glasses. Their cocktail menu is also very scrumptious (be sure to ask if they have any seasonal specials if it isn't listed). Check out this spot when you are in the area, and if you aren't....make that trip!! read more

me and my girls came here for my friends birthday, we did the bottomless brunch w/ unlimited tacos. the tacos were delicious and amazing we tried every taco and every single one of them was delicious my favorite was baja fish and the beef taco but they were all so yummy! the waiter did let us know that our time was running out and if we still wanted tacos which we really appreciated! the drinks were good too the mimosas were yummy the og and the passion fruit ; the margs was good but strong, the white sangria was yummy! my friend didnt like the red sangria. the ambience was amazing the dj was playing good music me and my girls were vibing . the decorations were gorgeous i really liked how it looked inside there was alot of places were u can take pictures inside and out but i will say it was VERY HOT inside we were all sweating from how hot it was read more

My best friend made reservations for us here for May 5th more than a month in advance. We arrived early for our 6pm reservation for a party of 5 and the whole party was there. We were told it would be about 10 minutes. We weren't seated until 625p in the attached outdoor dining area. From what I could see the indoor area was very cute a chic decor with wooden hanging lamps. First thing I noticed was a white wet hand towel set on the back of the booth by the window. We asked why that was there and the hostess said not to touch it. I'm like.. ok. Once we sat down we noticed it was wet. It was a rainy day. We tried not to let that affect the mood. We all ordered our drinks and apps. I ordered the Jamaica Margarita blended. It was watery. Ordered the Guac and chips. It was very tasty but totally not enough. Before ordering our entrees our very nice server stated that they were super busy and our orders most likely will be coming out sporadically. And not to wait for everyone's order to come out to start eating. She wasn't wrong. My best friend got her order first. Then every 15 minutes one of us got our order. With the last order coming out more than 45 minutes to almost an hour later. I ordered the Burria tacos with consume. Tacos were bland. Absolutely no seasoning. But the consume was super spicy. Which doesn't make sense because the meat inside the burrow should taste of the consume since it's supposed to be cooked together. Sooo that was another negative. In the meantime it started raining more and the water started to drip on my niece. Mind you no one came to check on us with our drinks or how our food was because of the chaos around us. We couldn't even have a conversation because the music was sooooo loud. I was going to have a nice dinner not a club. We finally mentioned to our server about the water dripping on my nieces back and she offered to move us but also stated there is nowhere she could move us. We then saw another wait staff and asked her to being another towel and after 20 minutes brought one. At this point with so much going on we were just ready to leave but that took a while too. I finally asked to speak to a manager and Giovanni was condescending and plain rude. We explained the situation with the rainwater dripping on us and his excuse was that they've told the owners and no one did anything. That they called everyone with a reservation to let them know that it was going to be raining and if they wanted to reschedule. We never got a call. He just rolled his eyes and snickered at us while we were taking to him. For those of us in customer service... we know this isn't the way to address customers concerns. Not a good experience. I usually give a place three chances. But if management is like this, why should I. Because of the commotion I wasn't able to take pics of everyone's dishes and drinks. Came here for brunch for the first time yesterday and had a wonderful experience. Came right when they opened with no reservation, but it was fine because they have ample indoor and outdoor seating. The decor and ambiance was gorgeous, the details were stunning, the music wasn't too loud, and the food and drinks were delicious and affordable. Service could have been a bit better (could have had water refilled more often, my friend asked for a condiment that never came, our server almost gave us someone else's food). I would definitely come back though! read more
I had the pleasure of hosting a birthday party here last year but as the event planner I didn't eat or drink. This year, last week actually my cousin and his beautiful fiancée were here visiting from LA and had gotten married earlier that day. They had a small dinner party and it was absolutely perfect!! The restaurant is super chic and absolutely gorgeous. The drinks were on point and the tapas weee just as good. The staff was very friendly and work really hard. For me the highlight was being around beautiful people and the live salsa music was super dope! This modern eatery delivered on flavorful food and delicious cocktails. The hostess was a little cold, but once we called in a favor, she magically found us a suitable table. Highlights of the meal were the corn ribs, the flautas, filet mignon tacos, and coconut margaritas. The branzino was good, but could have had a little more seasoning. Great vibe and food in the heart of Astoria! Love the tacos in here that is more modern in style - ie pork belly, fried fish. Also, don't sleep on their appetizer. My absolute favorite is their steak over fries, a good mix of grilled smoky steak, cheese, and guacamole. Their corn finger is also great btw! I was also surprised by their burger. The food was too spicy . And the drinks package is supposed to be unlimited for 2 hours but they take 20-30 minutes to get you one drink. When i tried to bring it up to the manager he said we cant just keep serving you drink even though it cleary says unlimited. Bad and slow service and rude managers DO NOT GO HERE. DO NOT DEAL WITH THE MANAGER JEOVANI A COMPLETE MORON AND NO HELP WHATS SO EVER!!!! Also the entree is so small it basically one taco it is not worth the price stay away from here!!!! read more

I want to preface the review with saying that I love this place. The food is amazing, the drinks are just as great and the ambiance is beautiful. There are nights when they have live music and it's really enjoyable. Unfortunately the last two times I've been there I've been disappointed with their server Myra T. She was my groups waitress each time and she's not attentive. I understand a busy night or even an off night but having her twice in a row and not seeing improvement is proof it's her. I ask for water, she never goes back to fill my glass. All our orders came one by one. She didn't time anything and before any of this she only took one persons order and left. When we called her back she said my friend had ordered for the entire table. Us, "so you think we only want one order of nachos for a part of 7?" She was annoyed and took our order but our orders came separately. Then the check drops and she over charges us for things we didn't order. We love pets, but since our semi-outdoor dining area is fully enclosed, NYC health regulations don’t allow us to accommodate non-service animals. However, service animals are always welcome!
