My husband and I went on the Boston Brew Tour that has 4 stops, three breweries and a stop for lunch that had a wide selection of beers on tap. We had a fantastic time with our tour guide Derek. He was polite, funny, and knowledgable. He had so much information to tell us about beer and Boston... with lots of jokes thrown in there. We enjoyed his sense of humor and laid-back attitude. The breweries were great with a big selection and great portions of beer. I enjoyed the sours at Dorchester. Our lunch was at Meadhill. There was so much food! Our lunch included Mac and cheese, pulled pork slider, boneless wings, fries, and a beer. We enjoyed our tour and will definitely use this company again in another city! We didn't have much in the way of food (just bags of potato chips at the last stop), but there were more beer/alcohol samples than expected. John V. was an excellent tour guide. I was hesitant about doing a tour instead of just going to the breweries myself. But the education and fun I had with the group was a really fun time. John was funny and also very knowledgeable of the area, beer and history. I appreciated the history and his background. He brought us to small breweries on the outskirts of Boston that I've never heard of before which I also appreciated. Liam, our beer guide is the best! He was awesome, friendly, energetic, and knowledgeable!! We had a group of 12 and we all enjoyed the tour! He always kept us up to date and is was nice to spread out exclusively, away from the other crowds! We went to Harpoon Brewery which was very nice and entertaining. The pretzels there were excellent! (Especially the parmesan with the IPA cheese dip). It was one of the better brewery tours I have been on! We also went to Meadhall for a delicious lunch paired with beer. The entire meal was delicious!! Afterwards, we went to Idle Hands and Night Shift brewing which were very neat too! It was awesome to know that everything was already included in the price and promptness of breweries to provide the tastings to our group. It was nice that we didn't have to wait for any tours at the smaller breweries and Liam just took us in. We felt exclusive, besides a giant group following us at Night Shift. Liam didn't seem to mind. It was also nice that none of us had to drive and we were all able to stay together. All of the tastings were a nice variety too! Liam is definitely honest with you when he warns you not to go to one bathroom and to try to wait at another place (try not to go at Idle hands!)! Liam also provided some other information about Boston, the city itself! The van was a little tight but that's okay - it was nice and full which is good for the company. Liam is awesome and I highly recommend this tour!! We did the 10:40am tour and used the parking coupon nearby which was extremely close to the location where the van picks up and is for a great price!! The tour never felt long and it was not loaded with too much information. It was scheduled very well! Before you knew it, the tour ended. Thanks Liam for making my boyfriend's birthday special!! Attended the tour with Eric on 8/3 with some friends for my birthday and it was so much fun! He knows about beer to an insanely high and nerdy level and told us all new facts even a avid beer drinker won't know. We went to San Adam's which I wasn't thrilled about but because we were in the tour we got a special extra sample after everyone else! Other stops included a lunch with great wings at Chelsea Station, Mystic Brewing, and Down the Road Brewing. I was really excited to go to the more different and unusual spots! DTR was my absolute favorite for atmosphere and beer selection. Depending on where your last stop is, there are plenty more breweries around! We stayed a little longer at DTR and took a quick trip over to Nightshift after. Also a hilarious side story - on the drive to Chelsea Station we got stuck in ridiculous traffic because a GAGGLE OF GEESE were walking across Storrow Drive. A very Boston day. We couldn't have picked a better way to kick off of inaugural tour of Boston any better way! My boyfriend and I ended up joining a night tour with a bunch of strangers squeezed into a van, but Liam was the perfect ice breaker and by the time the beers started flowing we were making conversations with everyone. Our two favorite places were Mystic and Night Shift. Day of Doom at Mystic is one we bought after we tasted and enjoyed in the brewery. Night Shift was a small quaint place and I personally loved the heat of the Viva Habanero with a sweet addition to the chocolate that Liam provided. The amount of knowledge and entertainment that was provided throughout the entire tour was worth every penny! We look forward to correctly pairing beer with food from here on out. read more

It was AMAZING experience! I visited Boston for work and this weekend a friend of mine visited me and we thought of giving this tour a try! We go to try 18 samples of beer from the best beer places in Boston. Our tour guide Aaron was super knowledgeable and amazing! He was so passionate about beers and he chose the best ones for us. To top it all the food they served us was also verrryyy delicious. At the end of the tour we all shared a beer we liked the most and a beer we hated the most along with knowledge of making beer and history of beer origin. LOVED it!!! I went on the After Hour tours this past Sunday and had such a great experience! Dave was such an awesome tour guide, and shared so much history about beer! He made sure that his tourists were entertained and enjoying the experience throughout the evening! He definitely helped in making our tour unforgettable. Each place we visited we had a different experience with the beer. We Started at Harpoon and went on a tour of the brewery, ending with the sampling of 15 of their taps, including the Harpoon ale which is no longer distributed! We also had time to browse their shop and try pints of their beers. At Boston Beer Works, we had a beer flight and learned the ins and outs of beer tasting, one beer at a time. We also were able to see how they brewed a few beers on site. Our next stop was at Area 4, where we enjoyed some of the most amazing pizzas I've ever had (and that means a lot coming from a New Yorker!), paired with different types of beer! The last stop was Meadhall, which has 100 taps to choose from. We learned a bit more about their process and what goes on there, all while enjoying a pint of our choice. This place had so much to offer that we even stopped back the next day for some more sampling! All experiences were very informative, and I can't wait to share what I learned with my beer drinking buddies! I had my tour this past Saturday and we all had an amazing time. Our tour guide Adrian was great, very helpful and knowledgeable. He made the tour a lot of fun and drove like a champ. I set up a private tour for myself and 7 other people, the original brew tour. I did almost have a major issue when I discovered an email from CBT in my junk folder saying my tour was cancelled. I never received a call or voicemail. I called the help number and explained to Kate that this was a private tour and had no idea mine was cancelled. She was a life saver and was able to get a tour together, all the evening before our scheduled tour. If you are going to cancel a tour, you need to call and maybe more than 6 days before it is scheduled. Adrian and Kate are the MVPs of CBT. read more
