The food was phenomenal, I couldn't believe how tasty the food was. Potatoe salad was so good, I've never tasted potato salad made perfectly. I also had a sandwich with sprouts, bacon and I'm guessing turkey, or ham. The sandwich was also delicious. In afdtion I had a pasta salad and a crustini. So all I can think of, is that i'll definitely be back. Truly a worthwhile stop in Vallejo. read more

I wish I took pictures of all of the food that was catered by City Lights for a luncheon that I attended. We were all impressed and enjoyed everything for our Sunday School Teacher's luncheon. Our director ordered a variety of sandwiches, potato salad (so good), fruit salad (mix of fresh fruit-- groups, mango, watermelon, apples, etc), and they're cookies!! It was all put together on trays and covered for us, I believe they even supplied the serving spoons to go with. It was super simple and tasted so good. I personally enjoyed the brioche soft bread from the sandwiches with what tasted like a chicken salad mix with avocado, tomato, and greens. I was recommending that to everyone. We all really enjoyed it and had enough to take for work the next day. The potato salad was really good, and they're cookies were so chewy and huge!! We just discovered this fantastic lunch place in Vallejo! It's been there for years, but it's sort of hidden from view. We had a great lunch, and it was so reasonably priced. I had the special salad -- poached salmon, avocado, and 2 side salads (both delicious), and my husband had a HUGE fried chicken sandwich! It was one of the best he's had. City Lights catered a gathering for ~ 100 family members and friends after a memorial service. With two quick phone calls about a week beforehand, they helped determine a menu and logistics for the gathering and were able to have everything setup while the family attended the service. They provided veggie and meat sandwich options with a nice variety of finger foods, salads, and sweets. The presentation and taste was outstanding. Highly recommend their catering service. read more

My department got our lunch catered from this place..If I could I would probably eat there everyday!!. All of their sandwiches were flavorful and amazing..Also had their sides which were potato salad, mixed fruit, broccoli marinated in a dressing that I couldnt get enough of an egg salad layered with sundried tomatoes on a small slice of sourdough..I highly recommend this place. Amazing service and people. The menu choices are always changing, fresh and seasonal. Great service and quick food choices when you're in a hurry. If you don't like waiting for waiters/waitresses to bring you something, get annoyed when they forget to bring you something than this is your place. My favorite place to come in on lunch because the people are so: kind, helpful, accommodating... And the food is always amazing!!! I love their egg croissant sandwich, salads are great, any sandwich or soup you get I'll guarantee you'll like... I've now used City Lights to cater a couple of events at my company and they're fantastic. We needed easy to move food for top executives and they provided us with boxed lunches that both looked and tasted amazing. They make sandwiches and sides feel gourmet. There was also a very large selection for only thirty lunches. The City Lights team is also extremely accomodating. Even though I had a pretty last minute order and they were already busy with a much bigger event for the day I needed, they changed around their schedules to make my event work. I'm very appreciative and would highly recommend them. read more

The hours are very hit and miss here but when you do catch them open they have amazing soups and sandwiches!

Had their catered buffet dinner at an awards night ( go St.P-St.V ) and it was just delicious. The quality ingredients were fresh and attractively presented. Their eggplant dish was as good as I've had anywhere. My wife, who can be fussy, loved the tomatoes and mozzarella salad. The staff was friendly and helpful, too. I love this place, solely for their egg salad crostini. I also like that I walk in and they know that I'm the egg salad girl. But, with that said, their other selections are tasty too! I've had their sandwiches, and my friend has had their salads and soups. Only downside is that their selections are limited and often times, even if we come at 12:30, which is an hour after opening, many of their choices are already gone or there isn't enough- i.e. one sandwich left. BUT, with that said, there have been times where if they have the ingredients, they'll make one for you. They're always super gracious and accommodating. I'm hungry already, just thinking about it!
