I bought a car from them on March 1st. March 31st I called them twice to find out when will I receive my title and license plates from the DMV? April 3rd they called me back. Explained that the person handling the DMV is or had been out. I would get a call once I could drive over and pick up the plates (130 miles round trip for me), or if I would pay them $12 for postage, they would mail me the title and plates. Today May 4th, I left 2 more voice mails. I called a 3rd time and they immediately bounced me to the business owner's voice mail. I have never seen a dealership unwilling or delaying the DMV paperwork as much as these guys do. Luckily there have been no issues with the vehicle. Well I was going to give them a good review. I really was but when I went in to get the car we found one and it had a crack in the windshield. They promised that they could get it fixed and I believe them. They said to buy the car and bring it back and they will fix it. Every time I contact them they respond and then ghost me. This review is for the powder coating shop in back I should have known....all I can say. I myself had an emergency situation as I am a rim repair specialist. The clear coat failed on me and ate through the powder coating. My client had used his repair shop whom he has had a successful working relationship with for 12 years to take the rims off so that I could buff up the machined edges and change the Center colour to a darker grey so needless to say I was under pressure to get the rims back so that the car could get off the rack (150 dollars per day storage). I needed to get the powder coating situation fixed so Milton was highly recommended to me. He assured me that the powder coating would be sanded of all imperfections and re coated. And that I could pick them up a day later (delivery time was 3 pm). Also so that I could just have the job completed I asked him to repair and polish any imperfections on the machined outer rim. So he asked for a further 150 dollars which I paid on delivery. Needless to say my client was pissed off at the state of the rims. Not only did they leave sticky grease all over the outside but they actually damaged a perfect edge which I initially repaired myself. There were pits on the inside as well as places on the lip where it looked like they dropped the rims on the ground. At further inspection there were bubbles on the inside of the spokes where the new powder coating was put on. I of course FINISHED the repair for my client including re-repairing and polishing the machined edges AGAIN.... When I asked Milton for the extra 150 back for unfinished work (I could have asked for a complete refund) he then told me that they didn't have enough time to do the rims. One day later..... He left me hanging until today...then he said that he could not refund the 150...for what reason I don't know....he offered some credit in their shop...why would I ever use his services again. When his brother walked in and told him not to get the vehicle they told him to return for a return now were here 4 days later after not receiving the return. And the man at the entrance got upset because my nephew put a 1 star on yelp. And he started yelling at him why he gave hime a 1 star if he didn't buy a car. An agreement was made over the phone on the amount that I can afford as a down payment ($3,000). As I arrived everything went smoothly until the "General Manager:" ( A short smelly man) came up to me without introducing himself ( manners) loudly demanding that I give him $1000 more, I said; NO, we agreed on a certain amount over the phone and now things are changing. He then asked if I can come by in the am with $1000.00. At that point I felt irritated and decided that I am not going to do business with them and I was going to exit out of establishment. The "general Manager" then proceeded to yell at me the whole time that I was calling an Uber and moving out towards the EXIT, (appeared to be either high on illicit substance and or severe anger issues) Ladies..... Do not even attempt to do business with these loan sharks. It is hard enough as is to try to buy a car on your own and to walk into a straight attempt to be hassled. Be safe!! Agree with everyone else, if I could give this a -20 stars I would. If I could get this business shut down, I would. Manager Emilio is a scam artist that will say anything about a vehicle to make you purchase. Went there for a Tesla Model S, Emilio said it was free supercharging which is why I wanted to purchase. Get the car and what do you know, it's charging me money to supercharge. Not only that, the screen doesn't properly work because it's missing a $2000 upgrade. I call Emilio to inform him of my disappointment and that the car is not as advertised. Emilio said "Tesla's don't have free supercharging, nothing is free what are you talking about". I had to explain to him that certain Teslas do indeed have free supercharging, and that it was him that informed me at the dealership it had free supercharging. He said he had no idea what I was talking about and he did not say that, which he did, I even had another person with me that heard him say it as well. I then told him the screen was not working and it needed a $2000 upgrade, which he responded that "I can connect the hotspot on my iPhone to the Tesla screen and then it will work". ....well, no sh*t Emilio. That's not even including the numerous calls Ive been receiving from the bank they did the loan with "Veros Credit" saying that apparently all the paperwork I spent hours filling out at the dealership was never sent to the finance company, so I spent numerous hours long phone calls trying to sort all that out and basically redo all the paperwork i did at the dealership over the phone, again because Emilio the manager did not send a single paper I signed to the finance company. Speaking of papers I signed, thank you so much Emilio for giving me a stack of paperwork that is half blank because you couldn't be bothered to change the ink in your printer!! Now for the icing on the cake. Barely a month into having this 2013 Tesla Model S from City Motors in Hayward, the battery is done for and now needs a $15000-$20000 replacement!!!!! Emilio needs to be out out of business. I have been spreading the word across numerous online groups and to everyone I talk to to avoid this dealership. It honestly seems like they have the dealership as a front for some other shady business, because they do not care at all about customer service one you make a payment. It's crazy, because as soon as the payment was given to them at the dealership their whole attitude changed. Everyone was suddenly rude and could not be bothered with decent customer service. Emilio rudely answered the phone spoke to me in a way no manager should speak to a dissatisfied customer. I could go on and on for hours talking about this garage dealership. So, these guys I've known for years. It was called Hayward Motors, I think back then. Francisco, Emilio, and Kevin. I've bought a total of 7 or more cars from them/helped people buy, in the past maybe 10 years. I have 3 for my immediate family. My first car was actually a 1999 Escalade with about 129,000 for around $4,999. A fair price for the original year Escalade which is still running with about 210,000 miles now and still sounds like the beast it was when I first got it. Thanks to Carlos, and their service department, and my DIY nature, it lasted this long, only major repair was a driveshaft replacement, but I bought their warranty, so no money at all. My second car is my wife's car I bought a few years ago, which was a 2011 Audi A4, which is actually in the service department now getting some engine work now. A warranty on that car as well. So, no money, not a dime. Both cars were daily drivers. These guys are always willing to help me. I wouldn't know where I could've gone without there help, along with countless acquaintances I've referred to them for help. All left happy with their investment and thankful for some wheels. The sales person i dealt with was great (Kevin) The problem is with the service department. I took my car into them to get my clutch replaced and upon leaving i noticed my exhaust was rattling. The salemen at this dealership is pretty cool and try their hardest to give you the best sales pitch and care as possible. The owner and the Finance team especially Lourdes, can be a bit rude and obnoxious. I only had one encounter with the Owner Simon and he was rude the first time and i allowed myself to give him a pass. The dealership actually should be out of business do to how they handle car situations that was bought and constantly breaking down. I got to admit the dealership themselves actually tried a little bit to somewhat remedy the issue to move forward, but when it came to payment, Lourdes was constantly on defense, never acknowledging conversations and agreements made even if between the salesman, her and yourself. I made calls to make payments no returned calls made so i can pay. Yet they repoed my even when I offered to come down to pay and repoed based off bc I kept advising Lourdes to dont talk to me crazy on the phone to be more respectful. She kept being rude and disrespectful so i hung up on her. Next thing i know my car was repoed. Again, most of my beef is with fiance team and how they handle situations, using Covid as an excuse to not return calls for payment especially when I work in Healthcare so know clearly or suddenly having amnesia of agreements made, but the dealership play a key into this as well. My girlfriend bought a car from them in April of 2019. The salesman I think his name was Kevin was super chill and professional. As part of the package she got 3 free oil changes and details. Other than the car having a really bad cigarette smell and some dings/scratches here and there, the car is great. Gonzalo, I think another sales person was super helpful when getting the oil changes and details done. Gave us no problems whatsoever. However, the guy that calls himself the manager is a dick. I noticed a new scratch on the car after picking it up from an oil change. We were calm and asked them if they can take a look at it. Rather than trying to solve the problem, this "manager" gets super defensive and assumes we're lying and denies anything happenings. He assures us that it was there before. He even says we can take a look at the cameras if we want. So, we accepted his offer. Then he backtracks and says he can't show us the cameras because only the owner can do that. Then, he goes on to tell us if we don't like the service we can go somewhere else. What kind of fuckin business does the chode run? If you're looking for a reliable dealership with at least decent service, avoid this place. read more
