This week I had attempted to purchase a 2012 Transit Connect XLT, one that suited my needs perfectly. They knew I was extremely excited about it, and ready to drive away with it once my bank loan went through. Well there was a delay, nothing I could do. The bank approved me on Friday, I was ready to bring him a check come Monday morning. Today's Saturday, at 1pm he said he would hold it for me if I brought a deposit later in the day. 2 hours later I get a text saying it was sold. Really!? You sell it from under me?! What sort of customer loyalty is this...none. I'm just steaming right now. All he could say was "Sorry", but you're not sorry, you did exactly what you meant to do. Nothing worse than an empty apology from another slimey used car dealer. In hindsight, the Transit must have been a lemon, for him to need to be rid of it so quickly. We're not even at the end of the month yet. Dishonesty and shadiness abounds. No wonder they've had to downsize their operation. If you're hoping they're holding your dream vehicle for you, I wouldn't be so sure if I were you. read more

We bought a 2002 Volvo V70 XC this afternoon. After reading their ad on Craig's List, the car looked to good to be true. I called and Seymur answered the phone. While his his voice was reassuring that the ad was for real, . our gut feelings said he was for real and the car was as well. We had several other cars to look at close to home, but we drove just under 70 miles to Santa Clara to see this advertised vehicle. The car turned out to be exactly as Seymur described over the phone and the pictures on Craig's list. As it turned out the car drove better than I expected and it was a no brainer to buy this vehicle. Seymur is a member of the family that runs this business. We met Frank when we arrived and worked with him on our test drive. Upon returning to the lot Seymur was there and helped us buy the car. Both Fran and Seymur were totally professional, their product was exactly as described both in their ad and on the telephone. This family operated Caspian Motors gets AAA+++ from us. They can be trusted and we will return in the future to purchase more cars when needed and recommend them to all our friends. All the vehicles on the lot were in stunning condition. Found a great-looking car at a good price on Craigslist. Checked out Caspian's website; pretty low quality, and the Carfax link for the car we're interested in didn't work. We called to ask about the car and were told there was body damage that had been repaired, but it had a clean title (we *specifically* asked about a salvage title); wanting to verify, we asked to have the Carfax report emailed to us. When we finally read the report, we saw that the car had been totaled -- and therefore had a salvage title. Needless to say, we did not go check out the car. I don't really get it. Lying about the title status is hella shady (should be illegal!), but lying about it *and then sending evidence proving that you're lying* is mind-boggling. Shady and dumb: avoid at all costs. read more

After 10 years in the automotive repair industry, I've become very wary of buying used vehicles from used car lots. I know it's not fair to judge them all based on the shady tactics of a few, but I just can't help it. So when I found the perfect car (after months of searching) at Caspian Motors, I hesitated to contact them. I did some searching, found their good Yelp reviews, and decided to just go for it...and I'm really glad I did. Frank was extremely helpful and accommodating, delivering the vehicle to a dealership for a pre-purchase inspection, picking me up from the airport, making sure the warranty on the vehicle was properly transferred to my name. The car was even cleaner than I expected, and the price I paid was fair. Overall, the whole experience was a quick, painless and very positive one. Stay away from this place!!! Typical shady car salesman and owners. I bought a 2004 Volvo XC90 there and was told I had a 3month or 3,000 mile warranty. During those 3 months and less than 3,000 miles the transmission went out. When I called to have make the claim to the warranty company they advised me that the owner had never filed the warranty paper work..... So in short I had to deal with a shady owner who wouldn't allow me to take it to a good reputable shop in Santa Cruz where I live, and instead had to take it to his transmission guy. The transmission guy took 5 months to finish it and then it failed again a year later and the bad experience goes further which I won't go on about. In short this place isn't a place you should spend your money. read more

Further, I ran carfax on one of the vehicles, and it came back as having a salvage title, when they claimed it was CLEAN! They even said it was still under Manufacturer's Warranty, but I checked, and it's NOT! STAY AWAY FROM THESE SCAMMERS! These people should not be in business. read more

How does everyone give this place four stars?!? The DAY AFTER I bought my CRV, the engine light went on. So far, I've spent $1500 on fixing my car and now the engine light is on again! I expect to spend another chunk of money this week, and may even have to buy a whole new engine. I had a mechanic check the car out before I bought it, and they said I would have to spend some money on it, but definitely didn't predict the check engine light coming on. My mechanic told me that the dealer had turned off the check engine light to sell the car. This is so terrible. I'm a good person - a teacher! - with a limited income. I'm unable to take the vacation I planned, thanks to the creepy fraudulence of Caspian Motors, and will likely start the school year in debt. UPDATE: I've now spent well over 3,000 on this piece of garbage. Thanks for nothing, jerks. read more

THIS PLACE SELLS UNSAFE CARS. I bought a hybrid here and a few days later I started hearing screeching. I took it in and the rear brakes were metal to metal! They said they did a full inspection, but sold me a car with 0% on the brake pads.. . Had to get new rotors and brakes. $640. The car salesman there said he would take care of me if anything was wrong with the car. He offered me $100. Lol. Oh ya, the battery was fukd and the transmission is going. The service was great and I was initially very happy with the car but there was minor issue with the car, after I talked to them they took care of it, even though it was minor issue. I usually buy my cars new. But, several years ago, I needed a commuter car. So, I thought I would go used this time. I'm not sure if I ever want to buy a used car again because of the terrible experience I had with Caspian Motors. I was buying a Toyota Camry. They had several to choose from. I picked on that I liked. I took it for a short test drive and then made an offer. I was talking with the sales person Frank who is the son of the owner and made a comment about what if I'm not happy with the car. Is there any way to return/exchange? He started getting all big baller on me at that point and said, "Look, I have a lot of cars. If you're not happy, come back and I'll swap it out with another." I felt more comfortable when he said he stands by his sales. I drove home and after a couple of days started noticing some wabbling. I called him up and told him I wanted to bring it back to show him the issues. I was concerned about it and when I asked if he could swap it out for another Camry like he had said, he immediately got defensive and his dad started yelling at him for making the comment. He started back tracking and seemed to be worried about the car as well. In the end, I made a few repairs and got the car fixed. My advice to him and his dad is learn how to deal with customers better and stick by your word. Don't write checks that you can't cash. read more

Bought a used Acura TL from them in May and had nothing but problems. Very lousy salesmen. The car was dirty when we bought it and I asked if they would get it detailed before we left and he just took $40 off the car's price so that we could do it ourselves...Wow!!!Lesson learned..I will never buy another car from their lot!!! read more

The BEST used-car dealer EVER!!!! My 84 year old mother bought a used Audi in December, after her car was stolen. She didn't have it inspected, and bought it 'as-is". Within a month, she said the transmission was making noise & slipping (intermittently). Took it to Audi & they said it needed a new transmission. Went back to Caspian, fully expecting to be told "too bad", but Seymour (her salesman) made some calls, & within a week had the car at his mechanic's shop -AMG Precision in Fremont - and had a rebuilt transmission installed, inc. parts & labor, for less than the cost of a rebuilt transmission alone!!!! So far above & beyond what we expected, it's incredible. THANK YOU!!!!!! (In comparison, I bought a used truck at COURTESY CHEVROLET and even with an inspection & agreement with them, they lied & misrepresented every detail. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!!) read more

Terrible business practices! I have read the reviews and what a surprise that not only one but two reviews say that Caspian motors silenced the warning lights on the car just to sell it, and when I bought my Prius in 2015 they did exactly just that. When I first looked at the car it didn't have any warning lights and when I asked Ilham (the "owner") if there was anything wrong with the car he never said a word about the warning lights or that my car had been in a flood/bottom of a body of water. When I took it to the Toyota dealership they asked me if I knew about the rusted parts of my car and asked if I knew that it had been like that when I purchased it. After 3 months my Prius needed a new hybrid battery so now I'm down 4K because it was damaged by water and then thereafter two months later the electrical/computer cluster had to be replaced too or the car wouldn't work so not only did I have to replace the battery along with the computer cluster so now I'm out 5,200 mind you I bought the car for 8k. Ilham also asked me if I would put that my down payment was 500$ not 2,500 like I put down because it would help him out with his taxes. After paying off my car I wanted to receive my title when I drove to his place of business I had discovered that the cars were gone the business had relocated and not a word to any of his customers. I was angry and visited him at his new location in Fremont (oh yes now I had to play hide and seek just to get what I paid for) I mentioned to him what the dealership said about the fact that he silenced the warning lights and immediately he answered that that is not true and the dealership doesn't know what they are talking about the same goes with the water damage to my car. Ilham acted like he was surprised then said he told me not to buy the car (not true, he never said a word) I told him I wanted my title and that this was bullshit he then flipped out on me and started yelling at me saying you can talk to your parents like that and how dare I speak to him and to get the hell out of his "office" after that incident I wanted nothing to do with this idiot or his company.
