He brought it in and they claimed they fixed it but we recently found out they did not! Its an extremely pricey fix and Alex the manager literally could not care less! RUN FAR FAR AWAY! This dealership is a rip off. First off, their cars are older than the dealerships down the street, they have more mileage on them & the prices are marked up higher than neighboring dealerships. Now some background... my parents purchased a suburban a few years back. About 6 months in they had to take it in for services. Fast forward 2-3 years, my parents are still making car payments for a car that has been undriveable since December 2017. Now... moving forward to me and my husbands short and brief experience. We walk into the lot and ask a few questions. Ask the guy if he's willing to work with us and he barely sparked any interest in doing that lol. We turn around and start walking away, then he tried to mark the price down a few hundred and insisted on having us test drive. Me and my brother both got cars from this used car store. Mine a little while ago but his was just a couple of weeks ago. Both our experiences were very good and pretty easy. The staff was very friendly and not pushy. They let us look around without hovering over us. We asked questions and they had all the answers for us regarding prices, the carfax, and down payment amounts to make an affordable monthly payment. KJ Auto Sales - Chevy Traverse - Used Car Dealers Near Me - Hayward, California

DO NOT GO HERE!! I bought a 2006 Chevy Equinox from them in October, 2011. Left the lot and was SUPER HAPPY because I got the vehicle I wanted and it seemed to be just fine! 3 days later, I'm leaving a friends house (who just so happens to be a mechanic thankfully) and he calls me to tell me that I'm leaking transmission fluid down the whole block and I need to park RIGHT NOW before I blow my transmission because if that much fluid is on the ground, then that means nothing is getting to my transmission. I call KJ Auto and notify them so they can fix this, and they tell me they don't have a tow truck (LIARS! Saw one in the back when I bought my vehicle) and that I have to figure out a way to get it to them. I had to call my insurance company in order to have a tow truck sent out and had my vehicle towed back to the lot. The next day I called them to find out what was going on since they hadn't bothered to call me, and was told that the mechanic was out of the office until the next day. In the meantime they don't have a loaner car to give me in which case I'm jacked cause I have to get back and forth to work. The day after that, I had to call them AGAIN since they hadn't called me, and they told me it was just a hose that had come loose and they had now fixed it and I could pick my vehicle up same day. YAY right?? WRONG. I went to pick my vehicle up and when I drove it off the lot I could immediately feel something was wrong. It didn't ride the same AT ALL and seemed to hesitate when I tried to accelerate. I already had an appointment with my own mechanic the next morning so I figured I'd wait and let him tell me everything that was wrong. He did a diagnostic as well as checked all my fluids and informed me that I was 3 QUARTS LOW ON TRANSMISSION FLUID!! I drive from Oakland to San Ramon EVERY DAY so I could've blown my transmission if I hadn't went to get it checked out! He also told me that they didn't replace the hose they said they "fixed". He said they just glued it back on, and I also had several leaks in my coolant hose, my engine fan wasn't properly mounted (the brackets are missing), and I also had a bad engine mount. I wanted to take it back to KJ and tell them to forget the whole thing but I LOVE THIS TRUCK and figured because it was a used vehicle that these are the kinds of things that can be expected (I KNOW, I'm a fool. SMH) so instead of taking it back, I paid to have the things fixed myself. I then called Alex and KJ and told him about all the issues and his response? "You should've brought it back to us to fix. When are you going to send your deferred payment of $500??" WTF?? REALLY?? I told him I just had to come out the pocket OVER $500 and wasn't sending him A DAMN THING except receipts for the services I had to get on the vehicle within A WEEK OF BUYING IT. He then said he couldn't order my plates until he got that $500. I was furious at this point because my registration fees came out of my initial down payment. I HAVE IT ON PAPER so you can't hold my registration! He again told me if they didn't get the deferred payment they wouldn't order my tags. I told him order my tags or I'll take your company to court and hung up in his face. A week later I returned home from a long weekend getaway and ALEX HAD LEFT HIS BUSINESS CARD ON MY DOOR!! HE CAME TO MY FREAKING HOUSE and left a note on the back of the business card "please call me about deferred payment". Oh you mean the for the vehicle that damn near conked out on me after 3 days! I called him back and expressed to him that he better not EVER show up at my door and that he WASN'T GETTING a deferred $500 payment because of the money I had to spend out of my OWN POCKET to get the vehicle up to par. From my understanding, they HAVE to order my registration and can NOT withhold it based on a deferred payment. They can take me to court for the $500, file it with a collections agency, but they can NOT hold my tags/registration. It has now been almost A FULL YEAR since I bought my vehicle and I STILL do not have tags or registration. I've filed a complaint with the better business bureau as well as spoken with an attorney and will be taking KJ Auto to court if I don't get my tags by the end of October. read more

Got the Carfax looked at (bc he-Alex- didn't put the print out with the rest of my paper work for a reason--read on) says it was one owner, no accidents blah blah blah Exactly on my 30 day warranty that I paid for, AC UNIT goes out-There goes about $500-Alex says I've passed my warranty. No help there. I have since then fixed a many of things in which I'm not going to waste time in typing. The cars ignition tumbler went out and BC I will never deal with KJ ever again I just figured go to the Nissan Dealer in Hayward, see what they can do about accepting it as a trade in---I get approved for trade in, everything's going smooth all up until they check the carfax report, Oh thanks Alex for showing me the CARFAX REPORT FOR THE SAME NISSAN THAT WAS NEXT TO MINE, this car has been in an accident--3 THREE previous owners and was shipped out here from Texas meaning they couldn't sell it out there--so KJ bought it. After we looked for at the SUV for some time...talked it over and asked the same guy about the price. He didn't seem very helpful at all. He just gave us the price and we asked how much down. So I bought a car from this place a little less than 2 months ago. I thought that this would be a nice place to buy a nice used vehicle. I suppose it would be a nice place to purchase a car if you could get your registration and license plates before the temporary registration is up. It has almost been two months and I still have yet to get my car registered and license plates on my vehicle. I called Alex after a few weeks to see what the hold up was and he assured me that I would have my license and registration the next week. Well here it is the next week and still nothing. I received a letter in the mail from my insurance company and they tell me that there is something going on with the VIN number. So I go up to KJ and talk to Alex who assured me that the insurance company was incorrect and nothing was wrong with my VIN. He told me to just disregard the letter. In the back of my mind I knew that I should not disregard the letter but Alex kept saying that he was the car dealer and dealt with the DMV all the time. He told me to come back in a few days and he would have my license and registration. Well instead of that happening Alex calls me to tell me that he received a call from the DMV and there is something wrong with the VIN!!!! He told me that I would need to take the car up to the DMV and get a VIN identification paper filled out! Well the DMV is only open on the weekdays so now I have to take off of work and go up there and then take the paper back to Alex! Oh I didn't even mention the fact that my airbag light is on and the check engine light was on. And I had to buy new tires! I mean I understand buying a new car and buying it AS IS. However if the car problems would have happened and I had plates and registration then I would not even be writing this review. I would say that this is just my luck and others should try this place out anyway IF my best friend had not bought a car from KJ just the next week after I did and she has yet to get her license plates and registration!! I believe that they never even submitted my registration application until recently and they are just a bunch of incompetent people that work at this establishment. Ok, so I bought a car from this place and initially was happy as shit,my best friend had just bought a car a week prior, we both had nothing but good things to say about KJ Auto.... UNTIL 2 weeks later I still had not received my plates or registration. After calling Alex I was told that I needed to go to the DMV to pick it up, so I leave work early to go to dmv, wait 45 min, and come to find out my paperwork was never submitted my paperwork for my reg!! So I call Alex, and he gives me a BS story saying that he did submit and would call dmv to have reg delivered to him, and still no plates. So in talking to my best friend, she was experiencing the same issues, no reg, no plates. So after about 30 days of back and forth discussions with Alex, my reg finally came, I go to pick it up, and yet no plates, after asking about them he indicated that I needed to go back to dmv..WTF!! So the other guy (his brother in law) says ..."your plates are already on the car" again WTF! So we go outside and and take off the the temp plates, and whoop there it is! My plates...so I have been driving for 30 days and had my plates all along! REALLY!!! Would never recommend this place 2 anyone! read more

recently bought my 06 dodge charger, I had some minor issues when I first got it but I took it back and they had no issue fixing it right up for me for FREE also got me a new tire and told me when I get a dvd player for my car they will install for free, my stickers for my plates took about 3 weeks to get here but to me it wasnt that long, tony helped me get a car out with my credit which isnt good and if i ever have any problems with my car I take it back and they help me out, also my brother got his car from there and almost done paying it off and still has had no issues with his car, I feel very comfortable knowing that they are always willing to help me out no matter how long it has been, and helped me get a new car with no credit!!
