Broken Samsung curved flatscreen TV. Thanks City Movers!
    David S.

What it all comes down to is I paid City Movers a lot of money to ship my belongings from Southern Cali to Hawaii. I paid extra money to have the professionals pack specialty/fragile items and I tipped them generously to make sure it was worth their time. Unfortunately, a very expensive flat screen TV was destroyed during the transport. This was an item I had paid to be packed. It's only protection besides a cardboard box was a piece of crumpled brown paper in front of the screen. The box and TV had been completely punctured through. When we spoke with customer service they said they would normally refund me $20 dollars in compensation, but they would be generous and offer me $100 for a TV that cost me $1,300 dollars. I counter offered for $300 so I could at least buy some kind of new TV and they decided to give me no reimbursement at all and never respond back to me again.

They confirmed my move and ghosted me the next day

Go somewhere else! Buyer beware of this shady company. They made the worse mistake any moving company can make: they NEVER showed up on my move day! The morning before my move they sent me a text message to confirm my move. I confirmed and they sent another text with a timeframe for the next day. The next morning rolls around. It has been a long couple days for me and my family preparing for the big day. I'm still rushing to get my final boxes packed and am somewhat relieved City Moving is 15 minutes late. Everything is finally ready and now they are 30 minutes late. I text the number from the day before asking for an ETA. No response. 5 minutes later I emailed James who was supposed to organize the move. No response after 10 mins. I try calling James from the phone number in his email, the phone number doesn't work. I email Andre, the salesperson and CC James asking for an ETA. No response. Over the next 10 minutes I dial City Moving and try every phone number option their automated system has to get a person on the line. Almost every extension goes to voicemail. Do you know how it feels to be ghosted by your moving company on moving day? Finally I dial the number for sales and get a lady on the line. She begins looking into the issue, takes about 5 minutes and then Andre calls me. The excuse I was given would be laughable if I wasn't in such a bad situation. Their excuse was that they wanted to make a change to my order (They could have done this during the weeks my order had been scheduled) They tried dialing my cell phone and couldn't reach me. They claim my cell phone said it was disconnected. Of course I had no missed calls or voicemails from them. I made 8 calls that day and other people called me, so it wasn't my phones problem. Hey, what about email? Like we've been using for WEEKS to schedule my move. What about a text? Like they texted that same morning to confirm my move. Their answer: "oh, yeah, good point. Well we were busy and didn't think about it." So they canceled my move without ever talking to me. I argued with Andre for about an hour, wasting precious time when I should have been looking for competent movers instead. Do you know how hard it is to find a moving company the same day you need to move and you have only started searching at 2 PM? Worst moving experience of my life. No apology from City Moving. They are a joke. At least I got my $100 deposit back, so that was nice.

Guys from this company have made a great job. I accumulated too many stuff till my last moving so it looked like endless packing and unpacking of my things. City movers worked professional and quick as possible. 7 hours is a really long move but it was with no incidents and nerves. Perfect job. And thanks for playing with my dog - Rex totally fall in love with you :)

This is how they transported a $900 rug.

We had a terrible experience with this company. On the morning of the move, the movers walked the whole house and told us everything would fit into that truck. Fast forward 4 hours later, they tell us everything won't fit including some larger pieces of furniture. We called their boss and were told we should rent a U-Haul and take the rest of it ourselves or put things in our car and take them. I wonder why we hired movers then? At least tell us everything won't fit when you do your initial survey so we can tell you what absolutely HAS to go. After much haggling, they decided to send 2 guys another day for a "discounted rate." As far as the actual move, it started with their wardrobe boxes...half of which smelled of the strongest cigarette smoke and another box which was broken. Even the movers were embarrassed by the smell and the shape these wardrobe boxes were in. One was so bad they had to leave it at our house so the next guys could haul it away as junk. The guys were nice but got to our destination half an hour after us and said they couldn't find the place, only to later tell us they needed a coffee break so they made a stop while we waited outside at our destination in the sweltering heat trying to flag them down. Lastly, they don't seem to have an actual office. We played phone tag during the whole debacle. We have used other moving companies in the past and this was our worst experience. Update: We got a Yelp comment from the company that they would look into what happened a month after we already moved. They said they would research what happened and get back to us shortly. Now 2 weeks have gone by since that and still no updates on what happened. If I could give them less than a 1 star I would simply for lying to us about researching what happened.

Thank you STANISLAV, NIKOLAS AND KAOIRN. They had helped us so much on our big move and have gone above and beyond. They were extremely courteous and professional. We are very happy with their help. We will use them again in the future. Thank you so much for your help! Our dog Slater says thank you also. He says you are their favorite movers.

"Flawless Service That Deserves More Than 5 Stars"…read more As a loyal customer of over 10 years with Public Storage, I can honestly say I am completely satisfied with the service at this location. Camila provided amazing care during my transfer to a smaller storage unit--she handled my reservation, corrected pricing, followed up with phone calls, and even made sure I had water on those hot moving days. She went above and beyond, and is truly an asset to the company. I also want to recognize Stephanie for her wonderful service and warm, friendly smile that made the whole experience even better. Both Camila and Stephanie made my experience stress-free and pleasant. It's rare to find staff that genuinely care about their customers, and these two ladies definitely do. Kudos as well to other staff members, who also played an awesome part from start to finish. I will continue to recommend this location to all of my colleagues and friends. I truly hope Public Storage appreciates the incredible team they have here, lead by Camila's highly trusted, and exceptional customer service! D. Bolden

Do NOT rent a storage unit from this place. Our unit got broken into THREE TIMES. The third time…read morethey didn't even call me to let me know until 3 months later. It's very easy to break into the unit with a crowbar. My lock was not broken. Management was not sympathetic or apologetic for not telling me in a timely fashion. If you rent from here just know that it will be broken into. I rented from a different public storage location over 11 years ago and it never got broken into. So I don't know if it varies from location to location or if public storage has gone downhill.

I pay $70 a month for a 5x5 unit here, and I honestly regret renewing for this month. When I went…read moreto my unit, there were spiders inside and on my belongings, which is completely unacceptable for the price. I feel disgusted even thinking about it. One manager told me they sprayed and the issue was handled, but when I called another manager later, they told me they've "never had spider issues." So which one is it? Because I definitely saw them. The fact that management isn't even on the same page is frustrating and unprofessional. Now I'm looking at possibly throwing away my baby's clothes because I don't feel comfortable using them after this. I shouldn't have to pay full price for a unit that's not even clean or properly treated for pests. I only paid this month because I didn't want late fees, but I honestly didn't want to continue storing anything here after what I saw. I hope they take this seriously and improve their pest control and communication, because customers should not have to deal with this.
