    I'm moving to another city for work, and I was pretty worried about the move because I thought my company would just hire any random moving company. But I'm really grateful for the choice they made, because the guys who came to pick everything up were incredibly professional. They handled all of our belongings, made everything feel easier, and were impressively fast. When you think about moving, all you can imagine is chaos, but for these guys, our chaos is their strength. I'm excited for this new chapter and grateful because they made me feel calm throughout the whole process.

    After spending 28 years in the United States, I made the life-changing decision to move back to Israel at the age of 50. Packing up a decade's worth of memories from Los Angeles was an overwhelming task that left me feeling anxious and apprehensive--especially with everything happening in Israel today. However, my experience took a wonderful turn when Manny, Jose, and Miguel arrived. Move HAPPY it was!!! From the moment they stepped into my home, I felt an immense sense of relief and reassurance. Their professionalism shined through in every aspect of their work; they approached each box with care and attention while maintaining an impressive pace. More than just movers, they became a source of support during this significant transition in my life. Manny, Jose, and Miguel took great care of my belongings and also offered kindness and understanding at a time when I needed it most. If you're looking for movers who truly go above and beyond--both in skill and heart--I cannot recommend their services highly enough! They made what could have been a stressful experience into one filled with generosity of heart and dedication. Thank you for everything!

    We moved from Maui to Texas. At first Move Happy was helpful and gave us a good quote. 3 days before pickup they raised the price 2000 dollars. At that point we had no choice but to move forward. The load went well enough and the contractor they hired assured us our mopeds would be crated. We got our belongings in 4 weeks and both mopeds came off the truck damaged. Everything reeked of mouse urine and 2 boxes of clothes are still missing. As of yet we have gotten no response from Move Happy. Stay away from this broker.

    WORST COMPANY EVER!!! In my 20 years of military service I have never had a company that disrespected peoples belongings like this company. Management is a joke, customer service is a joke and the movers are incompetent at best. The company workers packed the truck, took it to their NJ branch and ransacked our belongings. They took all of our belongings off the original truck and loaded to another truck, after they assured us that they would not do that. The pictures show they took all of our wardrobe boxes, opened them up, and crushed the boxes and our belongings to fit more boxes. I DID NOT CONSENT TO REPACKING MY BELONGINGS AND TAKING APART MY FURNITURE AFTER THEY TOOK MY BELONGINGS AT THERE OFFICE. They opened almost all our belongings at their branch and repacked them, now we have a number of missing items. Complete furniture that was loaded into the truck, and was delivered in pieces. The workers "lost" the parts box and didn't put together my furniture. Workers in CA branch were tossing our boxes around, dropping the boxes, and setting them upside down. The workers even took my ladder and cooler. Don't trust them. Stay far away from this company as possible.

    Incompetent packing

    Move Happy/Acme packed and moved us from Palm Desert, CA to Raleigh, NC. We've had quite a few long distance moves and this was by far the worst ever. The incompetence and lack of care by the packers and handlers has resulted in more damage than all previous moves combined. Months after the move we continue to find damage and the compensation was peanuts compared to other movers who covered replacement cost of anything damaged. Run the other way. I hope to prevent others from having the same terrible experience we did.

    I've had storage untis with this location a couple of times. The last one was approximately 7…read moreyears ago and I decided to try them again if they had the size I needed for an impromptu need. I was in another state and reserved online. Then I missed my connecting fight and got stuck in a random city. They extended my reservation via text message. After arrival, I realized the unit I reserved didn't fit my needs and THANK GOODNESS, they had other options to view. I immediately took the unit and they were patient with my questions. I like the rules and safety of the unit. I also recall from my previous experience the ease of reserving dollys and returning them the same day.

    Be prepared to pay significantly more than the advertised price. In addition to rent increases over…read moretime, tenants are required to purchase extra for insurance although the landlord only accepts responsibility for losses up to $2,500 and does not cover theft or water damage. You are also required to buy a special lock directly from A-1 to secure your unit. A1 does not assure against mice, rats, and insects, so I had to purchase airtight storage tubs to protect my belongings. I rented from A-1 for 5 1/2 years, and during that time my rent steadily increased until it had nearly doubled by the time I moved out. Safety was also a concern for me. Homeless people frequently loitered around the property and wandered the hallways, so I made sure to visit only during office hours when staff were present. I never felt comfortable going there after hours. Up until my last visit, the policy here has been to take your physical driver's license in exchange for a cart, returning it only when the cart is brought back. This practice is excessive and creates unnecessary privacy risks since driver's licenses contain highly sensitive personal information, including full address and date of birth. Leaving it with staff--without any clear explanation of how it is securely stored or who has access to it--is a major identity theft liability. The last three times I was there they simply had me write down my phone and unit number, which seemed way more feasible, but I thought this was worth mentioning since this was their policy for many many years. Customer service was inconsistent throughout the years. Many employees were unfriendly, and some were outright rude. One exception was Valentine, who was surprisingly pleasant and professional during one of my last interactions there. While the facility was generally kept fairly clean, trash was often left in the entryways and parking lot because there are no garbage receptacles anywhere on the property. It seemed more like a cost-saving measure than an effective solution to illegal dumping. Overall, I'm relieved to no longer be paying into what felt like an overpriced and frustrating experience.

I was a customer of this facility for almost…read more20yrs and for the past 3yrs, there was no light in my unit as when the electrical was redone in the facility, my storage locker was forgotten. It's impossible to see into the storage locker without a light. I asked, every month, for 3yrs to have the light installed and for 3yrs, I was given excuse after excuse as to why it wasn't installed but each time was told not to worry, they'll fix it thru the District Manager and obviously that was a lie as whomever the District Manager is, he just didn't care. Calling the 800 number didn't help, I was given a small credit in the rent but was told only the District Manager could order the electrical fix needed for my unit. When Public Storage sent me a letter telling me they were raising the rent to $700 a month for a 10x15 unit, I knew we had to vacate. Had it not been for Dave, the recently new Property Manager, who said upon coming on board, don't worry, I'll have this problem immediately fixed and did a follow-up to make sure it was, we'd be still stuck there. Dave the Property Mgr had it fixed within a few days and we could finally see into the locker ... Dave is amazing... Helpful, caring, nice, professional and the only employee of Public Storage who cares! Public Storage customer service is lower that sub-par. I DO NOT RECOMMEND USING ANY PUBLIC STORAGE FACILITY AS THIS COMPANY ONLY CARES ABOUT $ AND COULD CARE LESS ABOUT THEIR CUSTOMERS!

    I have used both Extra Space Storage and Public Storage for my needs. Each has its advantages but…read moremy preference is ESS. I just started renting at the Vanowen location so I will limit my comments to what I know. I also have a unit in Studio City. I found the North Hollywood staff to be friendly and accommodating. I dealt with Edward, who is the assistant manager, and he was terrific. He showed me a couple of different units, answered all my questions and made the paperwork as easy as possible. My preference for ESS over Public Storage is that both ESS facilities I have used have been exceptionally clean and well maintained. I like the way the facilities are laid out. For personal storage facilities, ESS takes some care in how they are designed. The only "complaint" I have about ESS as a company, and it has nothing to do with this particular location, is that they raise the monthly rental price fairly often and the increases are significant. In fact, the only reason I changed from Studio City to the North Hollywood location was for the lower price. It does not take long before the monthly rental cost doubles. That is the one area in which Public Storage has the edge. They raise rates less often and the percentage of the raise is lower. Otherwise I recommend ESS.
