So the boomers were very nice and we efficiently the company is extremely hard to get in touch with. Many of our items did not arrive to our new home and I cannot find anybody to talk with to help me track items. No one seems to care. I would not recommend this company for a long distance move. I am extremely disappointed with my experience with Move Happy. I originally hired Solomon & Sons to move our furniture and household belongings from California to Florida. I was given a binding estimate of $7,482.44. I understand that the final price would increase because we added additional items to the move, and I have no problem paying a reasonable additional amount for those items. What concerned me was that our belongings had already been loaded onto the truck before I was presented with revised paperwork showing Move Happy and a final price of $10,589.19. I would have expected the additional volume and revised cost to be discussed and agreed upon before all of our belongings were loaded. I was also not told beforehand that one truck would pick up our belongings and a different truck would deliver them in Florida. The company that actually picked up and handled our belongings was Move Happy, and we were told that Solomon & Sons and Move Happy were essentially one company or working together. Unfortunately, there was absolutely nothing "happy" about this move. Our belongings were not handled with reasonable care. Boxes clearly marked FRAGILE arrived crushed and damaged. Based on the condition in which many of our belongings arrived, it was very difficult to believe they had been handled carefully during the move. We had numerous damaged or broken items, including a large vase, large wire basket, ceramic bin, golf bags, bookshelves/cabinets, accent side table, guitar, console table, TV, TV stand, and shoe cabinets. I even ask the guy if my large wire basket be okay because it was just stack up on top and he said it should be fine. Even worse, we are missing three boxes, one set of shoe cabinets, and a cooler. I understand that an occasional scratch or minor damage can happen during a cross-country move. But this was not one isolated accident. We had multiple pieces of furniture and personal belongings arrive broken or damaged, several items are still missing, and our final bill was more than $3,100 higher than the original binding estimate. Moving across the country is stressful enough. We hired professional movers and paid $10,589.19 expecting our belongings to be handled professionally and with reasonable care. They originally quoted $15,200 for 1000 cubic foot (based on a storage unit measurement/ videos/photos) move AZ to HI- then after they packed all the stuff they wanted an additional $5,300!!!!! Which is insanely over the average cost for that move and a gross understatement by the sales guy. We 100% do not recommend them. First time move from HI to CA Initial phone contact from Jeff was good. Liked what Move Happy had to offer/price was reasonable. Only concern was when I made $100 deposit he did not tell me there was a cc service fee. It was a small amount but I would have paid by cashiers check or other. Customers should always be notified. Our next contact was with Richard. He was really good always pleasant answering all our questions and followed up when he was unsure of the answers. We made several changes to our items and he accommodated all of our requests plus offered us a better final price that really helped our moving budget. He was always available to take our questions over the phone and updated us followed up with the status of our goods from the beginning to the end. Movers in HI pick up was excellent they came with enough help to pack and tagged all items safely and handled all transactions professionally. Mover in CA delivery was good although he came by himself he could have used another mover to assist lifting heavy items. My husband had to help. Otherwise he was very careful and carried each item safely into our home had my husband check off all items on list very professional. Only concern was when unpacking one storage container with books was filled with a colony of live ants. Ants were crawling all around some of the other containers too. My husband took a lot of time to disinfect out all of the ants then wiped down each book. Not sure how this happened? Perhaps somehow at warehouse or dock sitting before transit or at arrival to warehouse waiting for delivery. It took 40 days from pick up to delivery. We moved from Maui to Texas. At first Move Happy was helpful and gave us a good quote. 3 days before pickup they raised the price 2000 dollars. At that point we had no choice but to move forward. The load went well enough and the contractor they hired assured us our mopeds would be crated. We got our belongings in 4 weeks and both mopeds came off the truck damaged. Everything reeked of mouse urine and 2 boxes of clothes are still missing. As of yet we have gotten no response from Move Happy. Stay away from this broker. read more

The Navy contracted with Move Happy for our recent home of record move upon Navy retirement. Move Happy sent subcontractors to our home who were unprofessional, played blaring music and wrapped our belongings like they were walking them down the street instead of a ship from Hawaii to the mainland. We were constantly asking them to cover furniture better and cover exposed corners on tables and dressers. It was insane. We fed them Starbucks in the morning and bought their lunches and they had the audacity to take beer from our refrigerator without our permission. We had pre approved crates for our piano, surfboards and kayaks and Move Happy said they had nothing for us. This resulted in calls to Navy personal property and them having to call Move Happy and say we already had these crates pre approved and you better build some damn crates NOW. This held up our packout. Out of all our many many Navy moves this by far stands out as the worst ever. I'm terrified of what our furniture will look like when it arrives on the mainland. No one from Move Happy ever contacted us to inquire how our move was going. read more

WORST COMPANY EVER!!! In my 20 years of military service I have never had a company that disrespected peoples belongings like this company. Management is a joke, customer service is a joke and the movers are incompetent at best. The company workers packed the truck, took it to their NJ branch and ransacked our belongings. They took all of our belongings off the original truck and loaded to another truck, after they assured us that they would not do that. The pictures show they took all of our wardrobe boxes, opened them up, and crushed the boxes and our belongings to fit more boxes. I DID NOT CONSENT TO REPACKING MY BELONGINGS AND TAKING APART MY FURNITURE AFTER THEY TOOK MY BELONGINGS AT THERE OFFICE. They opened almost all our belongings at their branch and repacked them, now we have a number of missing items. Complete furniture that was loaded into the truck, and was delivered in pieces. The workers "lost" the parts box and didn't put together my furniture. Workers in CA branch were tossing our boxes around, dropping the boxes, and setting them upside down. The workers even took my ladder and cooler. Don't trust them. Stay far away from this company as possible. read more

Move Happy/Acme packed and moved us from Palm Desert, CA to Raleigh, NC. We've had quite a few long distance moves and this was by far the worst ever. The incompetence and lack of care by the packers and handlers has resulted in more damage than all previous moves combined. Months after the move we continue to find damage and the compensation was peanuts compared to other movers who covered replacement cost of anything damaged. Run the other way. I moved from Columbus ohio to hilo hawaii. They talk a great game on the phone but be prepared for up charges, broken stuff and missing items! Started by the mover telling me he can't stack to the top and charged me for more room. I booked everything but 3 storage bins and a box with a broke down chair and that was almost 50 percent on my bill. Then it arrived almost a month late, and when it did arrive a table was splinters and was taped in a blanket. Also missing a storage container and a 3 ft tall fossil that was packed. Was told on a Thursday they would contact me and find the stuff. 10 days no response and no calls or emails, then a qc auditor called me up. I explained everything and said they will get forms to me asap...thats 2 weeks ago and still blown off. I now know im not getting my stuff or any reinforcement from this company. I believe the Move Happy team was contracted by Hawaii Moving Pros to help pack up our stuff for a big move/life change from LA to Maui, and so far our experience has been great. I contacted several shipping container companies and the manager we have been speaking with has been very on top with communication with us thus far Manny, Rodrigo, Sergio, and Jose came on time and really helped us out. We spent all week packing and there were some items that weren't packed correctly and they took the liberty to do so for us. They insured all of our valuables were wrapped and protected with moving blankets and enough support for safe traveling. Started off great with customer services. They seemed like they were doing a professional job by taking pictures of our boxes and furniture and making an inventory list. Our stuff arrived within the time window they provided BUT 1) damaged my $7,000 solid walnut round dining table (someone in the moving process dropped it and it now has grated dents on an entire edge) it's as if they rolled the table. It's beyond repair. 2) Damaged my TV stand 3) LOST/Stole high value items that were packed away in the TV stand 3) LOST several boxes containing irreplaceable family memorabilia (my child's artwork, framed family pictures, original Disney artwork). and they all just start blaming each other... the packing movers...warehouse movers...delivery movers. They have damaged $6,000 worth of furniture and lost at least $5,000 of personal items (not including priceless memorabilia). What's the point of wrapping and taping up my furniture if it's going to be damaged. What's the point of making labels and taking inventory if you are going to loose my stuff. I am not even that upset about the monetary values items...i am heartbroken over the lost memorabilia that i won't have for my first child because "the movers lost it". Some advice: keep your own inventory (don't trust their log), use heavy duty plastic totes from Home Depot - our cardboard boxes arrived trashed, don't sign off on any paper work until you have accounted for all your items; they will try and rush you and assure that what was delivered matches the inventory log. Update: they offered $75 for 2 lost boxes, damaged dining table and broken TV stand. The insurance coverage is supposed to be $.60 per pound. This does not add up and the claims personnel admitted that they don't go by weight of lost/damaged items. Don't go with this company. I should have gone with Dillingham & Sons. read more

Risk your valuable belongings with somewhere safer and ethical. Completely dysfunctional operations, manipulative, unethical customer services to justify it and take advantage of you. Below is what I faced - ** 1. Lying on the dispatch status - they lied about the dispatch status to charge us more when we tried to reschedule or request rerouting. Later, we discovered our stuff was never dispatched. ** Inflated balance on the fee signing doc - an almost 80% inflated balance was posted. I caught it and had to point it out multiple times to get it corrected before signing. **3. Unfair handling of delivery destination change: because they gave us a last min notice and we couldn't meet their availability window, we ended up changing the delivery destination. Despite the new destination being 8 hours less of their labor and time, they refused to credit back the difference. More than $1000 wasted. On the day of the move, they were on time and eager to get started. I noticed the leader of the crew gave a walkthrough to the employees and set everyone's role for the move to make it go smoothly and fast. I contacted International Van Lines to set up a move from Hawaii to Florida, but turns out they book other companies to do the work. The packing crew that came from a third party company in Hawaii was young and inexperienced and there is unnecessary breakage at the other end. But they were cheerful and honest, and that's important, too. Sophia kept us informed as our household goods moved across the ocean and the Mainland. The driver of our truck, Nick, called to give me a window of time for the delivery, which I appreciated. Nick and Jeff arrived on time and in contrast to the company in Hawaii, were very experienced and professional. They are the reason for this 5 star rating. These guys are the best!!!! We used this service on 6.20.23 to move our belongings out of state. The actual movers who came showed up on a timely manner and were very pleasant so no problems there. The main problem is that it is now 7.18.23 and we have yet to receive any of our belongings. We have contacted the company many times and left messages. Our calls are not being returned. No one is answering the phone. We are literally leaving this review in hopes that they can contact us and let us know what is going on with our belongings. We are literally on the verge of contacting the police and filing a police report for stolen goods as it has been a month and we are left sleeping on the floor of our apartment because none of our belongings have been delivered.
