I pay $70 a month for a 5x5 unit here, and I honestly regret renewing for this month. When I went to my unit, there were spiders inside and on my belongings, which is completely unacceptable for the price. I feel disgusted even thinking about it. One manager told me they sprayed and the issue was handled, but when I called another manager later, they told me they've "never had spider issues." So which one is it? Because I definitely saw them. The fact that management isn't even on the same page is frustrating and unprofessional. Now I'm looking at possibly throwing away my baby's clothes because I don't feel comfortable using them after this. I shouldn't have to pay full price for a unit that's not even clean or properly treated for pests. I only paid this month because I didn't want late fees, but I honestly didn't want to continue storing anything here after what I saw. I hope they take this seriously and improve their pest control and communication, because customers should not have to deal with this. read more

Moved last week to 2 ground floor units at PS. One was not what we wanted so we made our way to the office. Upon arriving, we met Gabby ....she helped and solved our issue immediately. She was able to secure an even better unit for us side by side our other unit. Her attitude was professional and quick. I feel very lucky to have found Public Storage. They had the right size lockers available, close to each other - within 15', and reasonable monthly fees. Very happy But the gem at this location is Gabby When I arrived with my "paid by the hour" movers, I was immediately faced with trouble-security code access code didn't work. Gabby was on her way to lunch. Instead she helped me through my dilemma. She found my online app was not completed properly so she entered it all for me. Within 10 minutes time we were through the gates and moving forward with unloading. She was professional and personable through this process. I rented a unit at this location and within a month my storage unit was broken into and everything I had was stolen. management never even helped. I had family photo albums dating back to the early 1990s my grandfathers mandolin my grandmothers dinner set from England my iMac and much more. if you really care about your stuff please do not store it here. read more

When I first started renting, all they had available was a 10 x 15 on the 2nd story. It was a difficult few months as they were upgrading the property with renovation so I came across many issues. One morning the gate wouldn't open, and the DM would NOT TAKE MY CALLS. I missed my appointment with the product I needed and never heard a peep from management. I waited over 3 hours for someone to show up and open the gate. On multiple occasions the elevator wouldn't work, and I needed assistance getting into the storage as the doors are locked and only management has a key. Yes, if the elevator is broken, you can't get in. Then Gabby arrived, who is the only reason I didn't give 1 star. She mentioned a larger unit opening and I jumped on it. She has been extremely great to work with and I hope she succeeds here. Unfortunately, after 4 months in the new unit, they raised my rent $71 per month. I'm now paying almost $7,000 per year for storage. WTF is going on? read more

Facilities are OK, office people are OK, been rewarded with a 22% rate increase after 6 months of perfect credit/payments for the space rental, I'm not sure is OK? Is this a normal standard practice for this type business? If so, it sucks and it really hurts! Very unhappy and disappointed with the customer service I experienced today @ Northridge, Ca location and staff name is Veronica. She was very rude and very poor customer service, "you are not my customer and I have the right to refused to help you." I was there for paying my bill. The catch now with these staffs on all location according to her/Veronica they were advised to do more housekeeping chores than just seating on the front desk all day, so the clients will have no choice but to call and pay +$10 along with their monthly bill. I actually, visited a few public storages prior to my due date and all 3 locations I visited before my due date, no physical person on their front desk areas. If, I will have to rent another storage unit, I vote not to rent to any CA public storage locations, anyhow there are other most probably better storages not only Public Storage especially the quality of customer service. The only reason I would patronize Public Storage is because it is nationwide. I would give a 5-star rating to the Public Storage in Meridian Ave, Puyallup, Washington but zero-star rating for sure @ Northridge, Ca (Balboa Ave) location. read more

It's a pretty clean and professional facility. I got a storage unit this morning. I was looking online and saw a really good holiday special, and I couldn't resist the price. I made the reservation online and showed up the next day. The office opened on time, the attendant Mayra was very helpful and courteous, the unit was clean and as described, and I ended up renting it. Month-to-month, no commitments, the place seems secure. They have both drive-up and climate-controlled units. At the end of the day, if something happens to my stuff, my renter's insurance will cover it. If I don't like the unit anymore, I can just cancel it because it's month-to-month with no crazy contracts. It makes perfect sense to me. read more

This review is for the public storage at 9920 Balboa blvd in Northridge, they don't have a Yelp page so I'm putting my review at this location. The manager there Veronica was great at first but when it came down to moving out of the storage I didn't know what I needed to do to move out so I called the office to find out more info. I called a few times and left voicemails requesting a call back but didn't receive one. When I was finally able to get a hold of the office Veronica advised she is in the office 5 days a week from 9-6 I believe and that she never got an voicemails. I told her I called a few times and left messages but regardless of that I needed to find out how to move out of the storage unit, she said the lock is still in the unit and in order to be moved out the lock needs to be removed and that was all we had to do. Per the website it says to give the manager 60 days notice before move out so I was confused. She didn't give much explanation but when I started to get frustrated she said to call her district manager Judy. My husband called the district manager and left a voicemail to call us back. We got a call back the next day from Judy who was rude, my husband explained the situation and her response was that she finds it hard to believe that Veronica did not answer the phone or return a call and that Veronica has been there for 10 years. What that answer felt like was calling me and my husband a liar because Veronica has been there 10 years, the customer service was not up to par. All I needed was to find out how to move out of the unit, and I guess all I have to do is take the lock out, no notification to the office or the office manager. I work in health care and deal with people on the daily and I understand customer service I've been dealing with people since my first job 15 years ago how they handled the situation was not cutting it. I think those two need to take some classes together for customer service and communication because they don't have it. How Judy became the district manager is beyond me. The unit however was clean and safe. Good luck to anyone else I hope you have a better experience. read more

William is extremely lazy... He's not willing to work with the clients and do the process fast. He intentionally took longer to do the signing shit when I told him I was in a hurry. I've got a storage unite before, it doesn't take as long as he makes it. I told him I don't need any boxes, since I have everything packed up!!! But he insisted on goth over the prices and promotions with me while I was late. In fact I had to leave that day and come back another day!!! I have had a storage unit there for over 3 years now. They have their strong and weak points. Most of the workers are friendly and helpful, like kia whose a sweetheart.. There have been a few bad ones but they have been working on that very well recently with their changes in how things run. The halls are timer lit which is nice and the property is kept clean. Pin code gate in front. Move in rates change on a daily basis. There is no AC. No security cameras. Now heres the kicker. A few years back my unit was broken into and my stuff stolen. The lock was in tact and the was no sign of forced entry. Judging by the look of it the thief had a lot of time to go through every single part of my unit. I made a police report and they said that around that time they had gotten a lot of reports on the same kind of incident. Kinda shady to me. Anyways, the insurance company took a while to give me any money but I did get some back after I filed a ton of paper work and provided proof of purchase of the stolen items. All in all I recommend not putting VERY valuable things in storage because they WILL get STOLEN! and take pix of your valuable stuff and keep receipts for your insurance. read more

I love this storage facility for a number of reasons, cleanliness of the lot and the buildings, controlled temperature, convenience of location, and many other reasons! Been with this location for over 5 years and have never had a problem. Today I had the privilege of being helped with an upgrade by the on site manager, Julia. She was so knowledgeable about the different upgrades and found me the best unit/package for my needs. She was more than helpful, professional, and efficient. She was fun! It felt like two friends laughing and having fun all the while taking me on a tour and completing the virtual paperwork. She truly loves her job and helping people. She is a true gem!
