Hidden gem. My parents recently moved to the area and we have slowly been trying the local dining scene.... And can't believe we waited a day to try this place! Fantastic from plenty of parking, clean exterior, clean interior, great service, fun menu and delicious food. Seafood & sushi (the menu has two unique sides) and a full bar. All their prices are reasonable and affordable. You might think this is a hole in the wall seafood place like we expected and you will be wrong! We were greeted and seated quickly and as a gin fan I spotted a few of my favorites immediately (empress & Hendricks Lunar) and couldn't wait to start with cocktail. The steamed clams and grouper nuggets were our chosen appetizers (delicious!) and we each ended up with an entree from the seafood side (as opposed to the sushi side) and everything was big portions, so fresh and perfectly prepared. We can honestly say that there are a few places nearby with spectacular water views, but this was easily the best food around we have found. Can't wait to come back! read more

I'm apprehensive about posting a review on this local gem because I don't want too many people knowing about it lol.... Not the first time dining there but the first inside. First time with them having sushi back on the menu as well. Everything was great as usual!!! First time trying the blackened fish wrap and tomato salad, I crave them all the time now!!! Excellent!!! Also tried the clam chowder, not thick like New England style but really fresh and delicious and highly recommended!!! I had family visiting from out of state and wanted to take them to a fun "Florida" style restaurant with great food. I kept hearing amazing things about the food (especially the sushi) at Clam House. I sent pictures of the adorably redecorated restaurant to my cousins and it was decided! There was a shorter wait for outdoor seating, so we opted for that. The patio in the front is very comfortable for outdoor dining. It wasn't too hot and it is completely covered so we didn't get drenched when it started pouring rain. I decided on a sushi roll (samurai) and seared tuna nachos appetizer for my meal since I heard amazing reviews on the sushi. The portions were generous, especially for sushi. I had to get my family to help me eat it because it was too good to go to waste. We also shared an order of calamari as an appetizer which we all enjoyed. The "new" Clam House is fantastic! The food is delicious, service was excellent (even when short handed), and the staff was on point. Valentino came over to make sure that we enjoyed our experience and we did ! We started w the Salmon Jalapeño Carpaccio (yum), then mama enjoyed the Ahi Tuna Martini (enough for 2), and I had the red snapper fresh catch sandwich. Great older place for some good seafood. Everything we had was good. I had the whole Thai fried hog fish and my wife had the clam platter. The kids had what kids usually want, grilled cheese. The hog fish are a good meaty delicious fish to have. I wonder if they had a grilled or a steamed version, if I wanted something less heavy on a hot day. The Thai fried hog fish was good and sold at Market Value. I believe my 1.7 lb fish was $42-$44. Good price? Not really sure. I found this on yelp several years ago on one of my once a year trips to see my brother. They didn't want to try it as it wasn't appealing from the outside. But I convinced them because yelp gave it great ratings. This is now the 4th year going and it's the one place I insist on having dinner. I don't eat fish. I hate the idea of bones. I might have a filet if they promise me there are no bones. But here I order a whole hog fish. It is the most delicious fish I have ever had. The preparation is excellent. It's fried but very lightly. It's easy to see and avoid the bones. The fish is fresh caught that day. They actually bring around a board with the weights of the fish and as you pick the one you want, they remove it from the board. Clam house is a highlight of my florida trips. But if you're planning on a whole fish, go early because they will run out. read more

Went to the Clam House last night. We have been here before and it's always been wonderful. Last night I ordered the Triple Tail fish cooked Clam House style and it was HORRIBLE. It was slimy, tasted horrible, the texture was mushy, the sauce was horrible. I should have sent it back but I was with a date and didn't want to embarrass him. I will hesitate to return. read more

Chase provided great service. Not happy that the sides of asparagus and cherry tomato spinach salad was $3 extra each. Chase didn't mention that. Hog fish fry at $47? And extra cost for sides, was cooked well but not worth $50 especially with generic mae ploy Thai chili sauce, not house made. Clam strips were my favorite. It was $17 on menu, didn't check actual bill as my friend paid but our Bill including tip was $200 for two people. Way overpriced for dumb tourist maybe. We are dumb tourist but sashimi sushi seafood experts thus no need to try the sushi. Clam chowder was watery and had a bit too much potatoes. I have not been upset after going to a restaurant for quite a while now. Prior to coming here on a Friday night, I read the reviews and everything looked and sounded great. Then comes the actual dining experience. Where do I start? Food - just blah and so overpriced. I lived in No. VA for years and I have never paid for food at this quality for so much...and that includes my dining experience in DC. Thai Fish Fry. Why Thai? Certainly nothing Thai about it! No flavorful sauce or Asian taste or anything. Maybe a Thai person fried it??? Sushi rolls for $15 with salmon, tuna or yellowtail. I can get a cheaper sushi roll with fresh fish from Japan in San Francisco! Cocktail drinks. A whole new ball game. Don't bother paying for extra $2 for a passion fruit margaritas or mojito because they all taste the same. Watered down. Water for $9. Service? Very, very, very slow! You want vegetables as a side instead of a coleslaw? $4 extra for each vegetable. Apparently, vegetables are hard to come by in FL. Let's talk about the people who seems to be regulars. What can I say...ate you insane??? You are in FL! Why are you wasting your time and money in this place??? We spent almost $100 for crappy food and drinks (we tipped 20% as it was not the server's fault). Note to the management. Have some pride in what you serve. Stop gouging people. read more

This is a hit or miss place. I've gotten their fish sandwich and it was delicious, huge over the bun fried fish which was so dog gone good. I've also gotten their clams a few times. The one time I got the clams in garlic sauce I was not really pleased because there was sand in almost every clam. The other two times I got just the clams in broth and they were delicious. So like I said, the clams can be a hit or miss. The service is pretty good. We've eaten both inside and outside and though the outside is loud with the traffic whizzing by, they have a buffer zone that's not very helpful but eating outside is still fun. Really enjoyed our dinner here the other night. We started with the fish spread (delicious!) and clam broth chowder (good not great) and some beers and cocktails. For dinner we had the siracha shrimp, coconut shrimp, and mahi mahi clam house style. All of the entrees and accompanying sides were delicious and it was a ton of food. Our waitress was relatively new and had to ask the bar/kitchen a couple of questions but was very friendly. It's a pretty casual place and prices are reasonable for the area. This quaint seafood restaurant is located in quite a strange spot. It looks like it should be right on the water but it's just right off the road before 301. The inside atmosphere is nice and dim, however the outside seating is reminiscent of a tiki bar. The menu overall I found to be selective. They have only a handful of items that are not seafood, so if you're taking picky eaters they won't be very happy! Their sushi selection is very good! I tried the Blue Crab Roll which was delicious! It was topped with tuna and probably the best raw tuna I've had at a restaurant that wasn't strictly a sushi restaurant. They are famous for their Thai fish which is a giant whole fried fish. They give you your choice of how large you wish to order the fish, which is anywhere from 1-3 pounds depending on the day. This was quite expensive. The cheapest was around $35. The rest of the menu however was what I expected for seafood. Sushi rolls ranged from $7-$15 and entrees were about $10-$40 depending on the fish etc. Overall I wasn't too impressed. It was ok but i found the menu to be slim and limited. I was hoping they'd have oysters but they didn't surprisingly. The service for outside seating was also a bit slow for a Thursday. read more
