What was once a great place...... went to pot ... and you don't need to go into the potty to smell it. You can smell the urinals from the dining area. What happened? I am so disappointed, it was a laid back place to go, enjoyed a beer or two. Now, all the tables have napkin wrapped silverware and the first thing they do is hand you a 12-page plastic covered menu with everything from raw oysters to whatever.... it's waaaay overkill on the menu. My advice to Clancy's, ditch the menus, clean the bathrooms. If your bathrooms are that dirty, do you clean the kitchen? Why did beer go up to $4.50 a pint?!! Where' s the pool table? This is a neighborhood pub, great food, highly recommend the clam chowder that other yelpers mentioned, it's worth it!! I was happy about getting clam chowder to go! It's a local place, nothing fancy about their decor, they stick to great service, great homemade food, and I love their outdoor patio area (which I hope to sit at in the spring/summer). Regarding the bad review by another yelper, it saddens me that she didn't actually go to the GM in person or call them to let them know, I think that any place deserves to be able to make their service right. I rate my reviews on not that a problem happen but how it gets resolved. Really? this is what Sherwood has to offer? It's embarrassing! This place smells like an old bowling alley with more TV screens than Las Vegas. It's a shit hole with no toilet paper. What would be great is a farm to table restaurant that is well lit with casual people. Went here on St. Patricks day - a lot of fun. It was so packed inside the bar. They did include two tents outside that held another 100+ people and a band. How you had to go down to this table to get a wrist band and drink tokens and then go here to get drinks and have multiple entrances was not user-friendly. Figure that out. What can I say? It's a pub, an Irish pub. I've been to many. We did get here rather late, close to midnight I believe. Other than the handful of diehards at the bar, it was dead. The decor was typical pub style, lots of dark wood, brick, low lighting. I liked the background music could be heard, as well as our conversation. I had to walk up to the bar to check out their extensive tap options, and settled on a Blue Moon. The bartender was nice and patient as I squinty eyed the choices. Not sure what my friend ordered, because it had already arrived by the time I got out of the bathroom. We downed the beer, chatted for a bit, and left shortly after. This place is a gem. I've been seeing the same friendly faces since I moved here three years ago. There customer service is amazing, and I've never had a bad experience. The food is so good, like you would get at Grand-Ma's but better. They have a fish dish that is to die for, and there clam chowder soup is the one of the best I've ever had. We love eating here, and so do our kids! It's a pub atmosphere but nothing crazy or out of hand. I take my kids all the time, and never once have I felt uncomfortable. Five Stars for doing what they do well. It's a low key Irish Bar with great menu. I loved the blackened halibut I speical ordered over a salad. And my mojito was mixed perfectly!! Clancys is a solid Irish joint. Dark interior, wood booths, and too much decor. They have a fabulous happy hour. I'm a fan of their $6 halibut fish and chips, the portion is small as expected, but done well. My husband loves the fish tacos with added avocado. They have lots of beer on tap. Clancy's was a great post-hike gathering spot. They easily accommodated a party of eight and the chairs were thankfully accessible and arm-free. The music was good, not too loud. Went there for Lunch and decided to try their highly recommended fish and chips. The fries were pretty much what I expected. I couldn't tell whether they were frozen or hand-cut, but they had good flavor and weren't overly seasoned. The fish was different than just about any other Fish & Chips I have tasted. The batter was thick and doughy and the fish was more of a sphere than a filet. The beer in the batter was a bit too strong for my tastes, but the halibut was light and flaky and more than made up for it. I would go there again. read more

I have had the BBQ Pork slider place with the coleslaw...yum! and the giant nachos that I couldnt finish. The atmosphere is fun and friendly. The waitress is amazing and I like her alot. The building is on the corner of old downtown and is a nice place. The wine selection sucks but if you want good wine you are at the wrong place. This place gives off the perfect little 'dive bar'vibe for a late night drink. It's clean, but relaxed, and super casual. It took me way too many years to stop in here and take a look around. We came in at like 9 on a Saturday night and saw a few families with kids who were almost done, so during the day I think it's a pretty family friendly spot too. Had a girls night out. It was my first time here wasn't really impressed. Very small and crowded. Servers are confused and don't which tables have been greeted or not. Our server was ok, she was rushy and when i go to eat i like to take a mom3to look at the menu especially since I've never been there. Oh and if you are a germaphobe like i am, i would highly recommend taking your own straw. I asked the server for a straw and she came out holding my straw with her bare hands!! That was such a turn off for me i didn't use the straw. I don't know if your hands have been washed or not. And if you don't know yet be careful when you order a side of any type of condiment because they will charge you!! It would be nice if the severs would say "we charge extra for sides of condiment" then people would have the option to say yes or no. Food was ok nothing special I'm sure my girls and i can find a better place to eat. I would recommend this place if you just wanna hang out and drink with the friends. read more

4 stars are mostly for the atmosphere. The food is typical bar food and is good for bar food. This is not the type of place to take a date you're trying to impress, but is an amazing pub for hanging out and getting a drink. This place is always filled at dinnertime with locals. They have a pool table (I think the only public pool table in Sherwood) which is fun sometimes. A friend of mine and I once went and asked the waitress what the difference between Kentucky and Irish whiskey is and she proceeded to explain and then pour us samples of about 8 different kinds of whiskey from all over the place. The staff is just like that at Clancy's, they're really friendly and make it a great place to go. I'm not saying they just give away free booze all the time, but this is an example of the type of people that work there. I guess my one caveat to this would be that I always sit at the bar and it might not be so friendly at the tables since they're not around as much, but I don't really know. read more
