This establishment checked off all the boxes for us - First it was a spontaneous decision to eat at Clary's after seeing a line of people waiting. Second, we sat outside and had the opportunity to be served by Mike, a kind, thoughtful and hard working individual. All staff we encountered were pleasant and engaging. Clary's Cafe has been around for quite some time in Savannah, GA. To say it is a locals hangout is an understatement. We wanted to find a real local place to have a nice breakfast and we decided on Clary's as it was highly recommended. Parking was not an issue as they do have private parking but it is not huge so you may need to park on the street. Wait time was not problematic either as we only had to wait about 10 minutes but this is a very popular spot so be prepared to wait a little longer on the weekends. The service was excellent and everyone was very courteous and attentive. Their menu has a very nice selection of breakfast and lunch items. We ordered the Southern Eggs Benedict and the Country Omelette with Cheese Grits and Biscuits and boy was the food good. I don't think you could go wrong with anything at this restaurant to be quite honest. Grits was out of this world but I would not expect anything less in Georgia. The coffee was great as well and servers made sure the cups stayed full as well. Overall we where very happy with our visit to Clary's and we will be back for sure on our next visit to Savannah. The breakfast was was for two. I had the pancakes, grits, and eggs over easy. My husband had the grits and scramble egg with link sausage. The food was good. Nothing to write home to mom about. I would recommend it. The atmosphere was very rustic, this is why I gave it 4 stars. If you go, don't be alarmed by the appearance. It appears Clary does not spend money on the upkeep. We went here because we had family in town and they wanted pancakes and a cheap place to eat. They did have some very impressively large pancakes. The wait wasn't long either because it was on the outskirts of downtown away from al the restaurants. I ordered the gas Benedict, which I would never order here again. The ham was an odd consistency and had a gross rind on it. Almost taste like it wasn't cooked. Their grits were not good either, tasted like instant grits. I did order their famous sticky bun and my goodness was it ever good! Definitely do yourself a favor and order one. (Strange how that works).  Lots of positive feedback from my Yelp family!! Atmosphere -  Super easy to find as it is on a busy street.  Just look for the line out the door.  There is a small free parking on the south side of the building, maybe 8 spots, good luck.  Paid for city street parking, $2 for 2 hours.  The place has seen better days and probably could use a new floor but that just adds to the charm Food Drink - Black coffee that almost never ran out, I had too much this morning. Meal - I am all about trying new things.  Malted Waffles caught my eye as my dad was asking what they were.  You know like a malt or the Halloween candies I hated as a kid.  I ordered mine with a topping of blueberry filling and dab of whipped cream and a side of two sausage patties.  I will not tell you how great they were but instead tell you that all waffles should be made this way!!  One waffle and two sausage patties where two much for me, I had to leave some waffle behind, so sad. Was able to eat here this morning and their food is very good for breakfast items. They are known for their homemade corned beef hash and it does not disappoint. I was able to have their corned beef egg Benedict with fried potatoes. The flavors were phenomenal and definitely is something to try. Their coffee is constant and fresh. Watched them make easy six to seven fresh pots while I dined at the bar. Mike was my server and he was super and friendly. He was present and wanted to ensure we had what we wanted. The place is very popular and gets a line out the door waiting to eat there and my visit was on a Monday morning which is telling how popular it is. A detractor for me was watching a few of the staff snacking on personal snack foods and never washing their hands before going to grab food to serve. It really sort of turned me off. It's diner like food and there is a level of understanding of the locale but it was a detractor that stopped me from giving a 4 star review. I'll still recommend people go and I'd like to come back and try their lunch menu offerings. read more

They have there own parking lot as well so that's good for people like me that don't wanna find a place to parallel park. Love corned beef so I had to try the corned beef hash no doubt. I ordered stuffed franch toast then after a sec I changed my mind and changed it to a regular french toast, the waitress looked at me like she wanted to kill me, after we got the order we got the stuffed french toast (of course) and then she came and asked them to change it back, we waited more then 30 min until we got the regular french toast, then of course in the bill it was twice, then after we got the bill she was looking from behind how much tip we're putting. horrible. read more

It came out hot and it was soo good! The pastry bread tasted sort of like hala bread with a mix of sweet Hawaiin bread. I got a breakfast sandwich which was toast, fried egg, bacon and hash browns. The bacon was way over cooked and the sandwich itself had zero flavor. The hash browns were pretty basic, no seasoning. This spot is managing holiday crowds well. Small and intimate the "social distancing" isn't really possible. The food is EXCELLENT and the portions we received and those we saw served around us were all generous and piping hot and fresh. This little breakfast brunchy spot has been around since I used to go to cathedral Day School which is now known as Notre Dame academy I used to love their bacon egg and cheese sandwiches I think the last time I was there they had green booths to sit in which was a little more comfortable than the regular chairs and tables that's there now the crab patties were good I tasted my husband's I'm not a fan of eggs benedict... It was okay but not the same old clarys I remember.... The homemade corned beef hash was good at first but then I got a little tired of eating it no seasoning just kind of bland way too much eggs on the plates I thought food came out warm but it's okay it's just not the spot for me..........
