    Pot roast and Lima beans
    George M.

Dined in on a Thursday and had the pot roast. It is very tasty and tender. Love their chicken, either fried or baked. The vegetables are great too (had the baby Limas today).

    Smoked chicken, turnip greens.

Stumbled across this place and had the best food and service! We had the chicken and fried fish with the fried okra, grits, lima beans on rice. There were mini corn muffins with peaches inside on the table. Everything was absolutely delicious!! The entire staff were very nice and attentive to us! I would definitely recommend this place to everyone wanting good home style southern comfort food!!

Been meaning to try this place since it opened. Enjoyed lunch there today with my wife. All the food was good, but the fried chicken was exceptional - really, really moist and tasty. Service was very good and the food came out quickly. I expect them to do very well. Nice little joint that they have decorated tastefully. Easy to miss if you drive by too fast so I'm sharing a picture.

This a little Hometown sweet southern Soul of Savannah place. It's not a big impersonal chain Dawn was my waitress and a more warm funny REAL person. You're never gonna. Meet. It's. Busy. But every one get taken care of. When you come in Wayne ( the Owner ) greets. You. Immediately you are shown the menu. They have the menu of the day. So you will eat what is gong to be served And. I am telling you. You Will enjoy the food. It's. Not too much it's. Not over priced and you will be taken care of. This restaurant is like the way things used to be You'll be taken care of. You are welcomed As if you'd been there forever . I loved this little piece of Savannah to say it's charming would be an understatement Come on down. And set a spell. You will be delighted. That little, hole-in-the-wall, exceptional restaurant is so worth checking out if you're local or just passing through. Fried chicken, their specialty, but certainly not the only thing on the menu worth checking out. Takeout doesn't take long. Check out their FB page for full daily menu and many photos that will have your mouth watering. Just as good as it looks, folks. And those peach muffins...Mmmmmm!

After capturing several ghosts in Savannah, I found myself in desperate need of a proper meal, a…read morestrong drink, and a place where the spirits would remain in their glasses. That search led me to The Olde Pink House--a magnificent historic mansion dating back to 1771, now home to one of Savannah's most memorable restaurants. The décor is beautiful, with antique furnishings, fireplaces, elegant woodwork, chandeliers, and enough historical character to make any ghost hunter feel immediately at home. The building is surprisingly large, with numerous dining rooms, each decorated and arranged differently. Exploring it feels almost like wandering through a well-preserved haunted mansion--though thankfully, the staff were much friendlier than the ghosts I had recently captured. The food was excellent, and everyone in our party enjoyed what they ordered. I'm not usually much of a beer drinker, but I tried the Hostess City, a craft beer brewed exclusively for The Olde Pink House, and was pleasantly surprised by how good it was. Our server was wonderful, and we were even able to exchange ghost stories with them. We all had a good laugh, although I'm fairly certain one of the portraits nearby was laughing along with us. We arrived dressed entirely in black, and not a single person batted an eye. In Savannah, this is apparently considered perfectly respectable evening attire--or perhaps everyone simply assumed we were attending a funeral for one of the restless dead. After dinner, we asked whether we could explore the other sections of the restaurant, and we were told it would be no problem. We were able to visit the different dining rooms and examine the antiques and objects respectfully without disturbing the other guests. Be sure to visit the bar downstairs, Planters Tavern. It has a wonderfully haunted atmosphere, with brick walls, old-world décor, and a beautiful fireplace that must be especially inviting during the winter months. The basement's fireplaces were reportedly part of the home's original kitchen, which only adds to the feeling that the room remembers far more than it lets on. The Olde Pink House offers excellent food, beautiful surroundings, friendly service, and just enough supernatural atmosphere to keep a ghost hunter interested. I arrived looking for somewhere to recover from the night's haunting. I left well fed, pleasantly spirits-laden, and only mildly concerned that one of the ghosts may have followed me home.

I managed about ten, and everything was well prepared, generous, and full of flavor. The communal-table atmosphere makes the meal feel less like dining at a restaurant and more like being welcomed into a very large Savannah family dinner. The service was warm and attentive, and the whole experience felt genuine rather than staged for tourists. For anyone visiting Savannah, Mrs. Wilkes is a must. Come hungry.

You will not go hungry as the staff are near each table and bringing refills of items needed. Then when you've had your fill, they bring by peach cobbler with vanilla ice cream on top and/or banana pudding! They take cash or check only. They thankfully had an ATM inside. But the man at the cash register said we could leave and go to our own bank if we wanted and come back to pay!! That wouldn't happen at very many places. Southern hospitality, great food, memories- it is all here. Don't miss this place when you come to Savannah!!

Looking back, we probably should've kept right on walking. We ordered the fried chicken, potato wedges, red rice, New Orleans rice, and cabbage, jalapeno cornbread and pecan cornbread. Unfortunately, the only things we actually enjoyed were the fried chicken and the potato wedges. Once again, it was an epic fail. The cabbage tasted like it had been boiled in plain water with absolutely no seasoning. Both the red rice and the New Orleans rice reminded us of Minute Rice or Uncle Ben's microwavable rice--bland, lacking flavor, and nothing like the rich, seasoned rice dishes we were expecting. The fried chicken was crispy, juicy, and well-seasoned, and the potato wedges were cooked perfectly, but those two items weren't enough to save the meal. We came hoping for authentic Southern comfort food, but left disappointed. Sadly, this is one restaurant we won't be adding to our list of places to revisit.

Been here for both dinner and lunch. All this said, I think my approach to this review is comprehensive. With regard to food, I think they have a decent (not expansive) selection of food, which I think lends itself to quality. They do most things really well. This said, I do think there is inconsistency based on staff at the restaurant. On one occasion they have accommodated a request, and on another I was denied the exact same request. I found this frustrating. On one occasion I've also seen management talk down to staff here, which is a big no no for me. All people (especially staff) are due respect and this rubbed me the wrong way. This was an isolated incident but it definitely made my dining experience uncomfortable. Especially because I was getting excellent service from the server!!! I've always had quality service from servers here. In the future, I would come to Rhett for convenience as a hotel guest (the hotel is lovely), but would likely not spend my money if I wasn't staying at the hotel. Overall- it's good food, decent ambiance... but there are soooo many good options in Savannah. You have to be exceptional to stand out in that city.
