I could tell things were made sloppy and certain items came straight from a can. I almost lost my appetite when it was placed on the table. We had desserts at Class 302 after having dinner a few doors down. We got seated right away. Class 302 is in a big plaza with plenty of parking but it can be an issue during prime time hours. Ambiance is "classroom" style - so unique! Please note that if you're pretty tall, the tables are "desks" and may be a little uncomfy. We ordered some boba and the mango golden mochi! Sooooo good! Claas 302 Cerritos is a longstanding gem for Taiwanese comfort and cafe food and shouldn't be overlooked with all the new eateries popping up in the area. There was a point in time when they were just one of a few boba spots around here, and although I no longer order their drinks, their food is a great value. Even during the pandemic, their bento boxes were always a hit in the household. Most recently, the family and I dined in, and it was a nostalgic experience. While the chairs and seating resemble a classroom, the novelty wore off quickly due to the small and hard seats. However, the food and service remain great, as we enjoyed pork chops and pork bone soup with noodles, and of course some sweet potato fries with dried plum sauce for the child. I'd say that the pork chops could use more brine, but they were still enjoyable. The spicy pork bone noodle soup was my favorite, with a nice rich broth and depth of flavor and loads of veggies and well-cooked noodles. Everything was prepared fairly quickly, and the server was responsive to certain customizations. Portions are big, and we ended up boxing up enough for another meal. read more

Came to this place on Saturday with my daughter to have lunch order some fried rice with bacon spicy ginger flavor chicken and some calamari . I ask to have the rice with no onion , first thing I see on my rice is onions.im not allergic to onions thank god , but is just too much of it. Please note: There is a different type of dessert called shave ice which is ICE with flavored syrup poured over although they are starting to make premixed versions in some places. Then there is shaved SNOW which is a premixed sweet flavored mixture that is frozen then shaved. Frustrating to search for shaved snow and have reviews clutter up the filter due to terminology issues. Most cultures have a dessert ice of some type. Japan has kakigori, Korea has bingsoo, other continents have their own. This version is Taiwanese style although the original varietal used to be ice as well. One order is huge for one person unless you're about that life and it's also pretty sweet. We shared a combo order of ground pork noodle soup with popcorn chicken and 2 orders of snow. We weren't able to finish either of the snows but both were delicious. Alternating the savory with the sweet made the experience last longer and even more enjoyable. Seating might be less comfortable due to the classroom theme style. Service was great and food was great. Happy to return soon! read more

I like the traditional Taiwanese schoolhouse decor, it's a cute idea and it definitely caught my parent's attention, as it reminded them of their childhood. We decided to come here for dinner. The dishes are a hit or miss, on both tastiness and authenticity. Braised pork was very mediocre, unfortunately. Super dry and not very flavorful- they use ground pork and not pork belly so there wasn't any of that fatty flavorful juice. I would, however, recommend their pork chops. My parents thought it was quite flavorful. Pepper spaghetti was good, and my mom also enjoyed her vermicelli. I took a sip and it tasted authentic and reminiscent to what mom used to make for me. +/- Mango shaved ice: I was pretty excited to try their mango shaved ice, but it missed the mark. The mangos were pretty sour (I know, it's not the season for mangos), but the shaved ice was also saturated with too much mango syrup/condensed milk. It was still a nice dessert, just not if you were expecting the traditional Taiwanese mango shaved ice. Overall, a lot of people seem to come here for their shaved ice and some of the Taiwanese street snacks. Not too expensive, food is decent, and decor is nostalgic. Absolutely terrible experience. I ordered the Japanese Miso Hot Pot with no seafood and extra meat, but what I got was a bowl full of seafood and no meat at all. I asked multiple staff members if this was how the dish was supposed to be, and no one could give me a straight answer. Just passed me around until one finally admitted it was a miscommunication and the order had been written incorrectly. I understand that mistakes happen, but what really frustrated me was how the situation was handled afterward. Instead of simply correcting the order, one of the workers insisted that there was meat in the bowl and told me to keep "digging" for it. When I said there was none, she claimed the meat had dissolved. That kind of response felt dismissive and honestly, insulting. I wasn't trying to argue. I just wanted the correct dish I paid for. Went here last summer for lunch! It was pretty packed around lunch time and the dining area is pretty small and cramped. The decor was very cute- reminded us of school life in Taiwan with the classroom desks for tables, chalkboards on the walls, and dishes that you would eat for student lunch. Lots of authentic Taiwanese dishes to choose from and they were all quite good. Service was not memorable, so not much to say on that front. Overall the ambiance really takes after a Taiwanese classroom - brought my parents here for dessert after a meal and they kept commenting on how the place made them nostalgic to their childhood! Even the chairs and desks are old-school, but overall a decent amount of time spent on building up the ambiance of the place. Service is a bit slow but the servers were a bit apologetic for the speed. They did drop a bunch of bowls to share on our table and left rather quickly, which was slightly abrupt. Dessert was good - prices are on the higher end and a bit expensive, but the size of their shaved ice is generous and good to share. We have been going to this location for years, over a decade. Workers changes, management changes, menu changes. Hardly gotten excellent services since years ago. Have chances after chances to try, but no improvement but getting worse & worse. Food portions gotten smaller. When I gave feedback about the ridiculous small portion of the mango snow ice & asked for more ice to make it full portion, the worker came back to tell me that the manager said it would cost me $5 for more ice. The next table later received a snow ice that has more ingredients than mine. I asked the worker & she said it depends who makes it. I love this little place! The decor is quaint and look at what they have as sharing bowls! Adorable! The bingsoo is a perfect sweet treat. The snow has been perfected and rather than being shredded it's piled in these beautiful ribbons where you can tell that there is just more attention brought into making it. Below is a selection of yummy jellies of your choosing, do get the mochi. It's coated in a sweet glaze and is so fresh that your teeth sink into each chew, a divine texture you wouldn't expect from a spot that does not specialize in mochi specifically. Fruit bingsoo is delicious with unctuous chunks of sweet and ripe mango. The food is also so good! Its varied, and distinctly Taiwanese so you can explore a new flavor profile that is not readily available anywhere else. They have the classics too, but venture while you're here. This review is from 2016. This is a nice Taiwanese cafe. Has the typical street foods like popcorn chicken and shaved ice. My friends surprised me on my birthday by bringing me here. I had great memories here. Food was delicious. I remember the popcorn chicken coming piping hot that it nearly burnt my tongue. This is probably the only Class 302 that's still standing. The cash only business model & everyone on the table needs to order a meal, is probably not helping. Recently got the mango shave ice to-go. It comes in a giant container with the toppings separated. Pudding & mango chunks are good until forever. Mochi gets hard the next day. Boba surprisingly ok the next day. Keep the ice shave in the freezer and it still keeps the shaved shape. read more
