What makes Ryan so great to work with is not just that he's incredibly knowledgeable and competent at his job -- shouldn't all professionals be? -- it's that he's unbelievably decent and goes out of his way to explain the work he needs to do; he suggests alternative, less expensive options; and he tries not to do work that he could easily teach us to do on our own, just to save us money. The point is, working with Ryan feels less like working with a company's employee and more like working with a buddy. But let's cut to the chase: what was the issue here? Simply put, our entire water system at our new home in EDH was about to blow up; you know, minor detail. Our home's water pressure was a whopping 130psi, nearly double the 70psi recommended maximum. Long story short, Ryan prioritized getting to our home immediately -- even though my wife and I are out of town -- and successfully repaired our damaged PRV and pipe before catastrophe struck. (It turns out it was just dumb luck it hadn't already failed!) We also had a leaking kitchen sink pipe; Ryan could have easily gone in the house (we had a lock box) to repair it on the same trip, but he didn't want to get our house all muddy from his repair on the PRV, so instead he decided to go out of his way and return the next day. Wow. Net-net, Ryan's work ethic and expertise are second to none, but more than that, he's just an all around swell guy. Can't wait to work with him in the future -- in fact, we've already talked with him about helping us install some new faucets and (Ryan, I forgot to tell you this!) but also a kitchen sink and disposal unit, too); he has absolutely won the respect and trust of my wife and me for all our future plumbing needs. The great part of Fuse: The workers and electricians themselves seem high quality, thoughtful, and don't skip steps. They are also polite and professional What Fuse can improve on: Compared to other contractors I've worked with, their communication and project management was not too great. It was hard to understand where we were in the project and when things would happen which made it hard to plan around. For example, one day, I happened to be outside the house and found them preparing to dig a trench (through my neighbor's yard!) to get to my panel. Another example is that even with several different requests to understand the broader timeline, I never really understood when things would be done and what 'done' is. Lastly, billing: it felt like they use a third party for billing. Some folks called me to close out the project but it was clearly not done. They didn't know much about the project and had to call me back after talking with Fuse/other workers at Fuse and also there were some charges they didn't realize were already charged. Overall, they will give you a very competitive bid (in my experience) and the quality of work seemed high. Just be prepared to be a bit confused along the way.
