They measured me and told me it was $40 because my sleeves had double layers. It seemed a little on the expensive side to me, but Nordstroms was also charging me $40 for the same thing. They asked for cash. They asked if I needed it in a hurry and I said no, so they gave me a date to pick up that was a couple days later which was fine by me. When I picked up, it was ready to go and looked good, so no complaints here!

What I'd like to point out first, is that the super kind human who took our order was absolutely that: super kind. My partner and I felt good about our research and choice of NextGen, and the wire rack piled to the top with comforters, mattress pads and other bedding only furthered our confidence. Sadly, once we removed the bed from the bag, I felt confused that perhaps the wrong item had been picked up. It looked nearly identical to when we'd first brought it to NextGen, but with quite a few more strands of (different lengths) of hair stuck to it throughout. Secondly, almost every quilted square of the bed had faux filling bunched up in a variety of balls--I had originally purchased the square patterned bed to avoid this problem once cleaned. :( I wanted to bring my item back immediately, however, my health at the time did not allow it. I did point it out to her how rude she was with me and my daughter the second time I was there to pick up my daughter's dress. She decided to bring another customer into our conversation for her defense but the customer refused to intervene. Her sister is very polite and her coworker is polite as well, but the owner is very horrible at customer service. She definitely needs to take a class to welcome her customers.

The one hiccup I would say is that when I was told a date to come pick up the dress, it was actually a second appointment to try the dress on after hemming to start the process on the bustle. Either way, it only took another week before my dress was ready for pick up. The bustle was also done so beautifully and I got so many compliments on it during my reception. She was so friendly and knowledgeable. She happily accommodated all of my requests. She even did more complicated and minor things that made a world of difference in how I felt in the dress. She minimized the bust size (which required her to purchase new cups and rebuild that section of the dress). She also added additional lace to the bust section to make the dress what I had in my mind when shopping but never found. She also had suggestions of her own that really saved the day like trimming internal layers down to length while still leaving the outermost layer as a train. That change really made my wedding day so much more comfortable (and my ability to fluff the train out for photos so much easier) while still letting me feel so beautiful all day. Overall I love how it turned out - and she did it all so quickly and at a reasonable price.

I told him to just cut off the sleeves and shortened the hem. But he re-styled it and made it look so much better than I had even hoped for. This tailor is an artist. He makes custom clothing, too. I went to Best Alterations at the recommendation of two friends. They had some simple tailoring…read moredone and were happy. Regretfully, I did not have the same experience. I needed my MOG gown tailored. This amounted to hemming, taking up the straps a bit and placing cups. The dress is a base later of satin with an overlay of lace. So, two layers of fabric that needed to slide over each other in order to move properly. I left the dress with a FOUR WEEK window for completion. On the last day - the 'due date' - I called just to confirm. The owner was not in and the person who answered 'could not find the gown'. Called a few hours later and the owner said 'yes, it's here. No not ready since it is not end of business'!!!...It had been 4 weeks. Went the following day. Okay, the hem was good. But that was all the good that I could find. The straps were way to short..and the cups were place in a way no human anatomy would conform. I was told to wait while it was fixed. The straps were let down. And the cups were still a mess. The 'arc' of the cups didn't align with either me or the dress. It puckered badly. And the small modesty triangle bunged and pouched out. I paid and left because I was afraid it would only get worse. Went to another person who very kindly didn't want to say anything..but eventually did. The cups were sewn into place thru the fabric..hence the bunching. They needed to be placed next to the body - and thus connected to the satin layer - letting the lace move. Also, the straps had been botched. In stead of shortening in such a way that the original shape (a bit of a curve) was kept - they were simply yanked up..and luckily enough fabric was left to let them down..but not as nicely as it could have been. As for the modesty shield...the layers were all sewn together in several different areas - making the little fabric triangle more like a solid shield. The current tailor is undoing this, making the triangle able to conform and 'give' to the dress. This was clearly a hurried job. It was left to sit for a month. Then a sloppy attempt was made to fit the bodice. Very disappointing.
