I will be honest, I never get anything altered so I don't have a good frame of reference, but I found this place on Yelp when I needed the sleeves of my jacket shorter. They measured me and told me it was $40 because my sleeves had double layers. It seemed a little on the expensive side to me, but Nordstroms was also charging me $40 for the same thing. They asked for cash. They asked if I needed it in a hurry and I said no, so they gave me a date to pick up that was a couple days later which was fine by me. Scary customer service: I took a comforter for a cleaning and some pants to be hemmed. I went back on my given day to pick up and the lady at the front couldn't find my items. She immediately started accusing me "I think you already picked them up...your things are not here". I told her again and again that i had not. She finally settled on "come back later...I'll ask my co-worker if she knows. But I think you already picked them up". So...she didn't offer to contact ME...but again asked me to come back ....and managed to accuse me one last time in the process. I suggested that she should call me instead...and later her co worker did in fact call me to tell me that she found my items. So All ended ok. But i would never trust them again as they immediately went into accusation mode when they couldn't find my items. And That gave me an idea of their customer service should anything really go wrong. read more

My whole family has been going to Kim's for a few years now, and we are always happy with her alteration service. I've had at least a dozen jeans hemmed by her, and she always does a great job. She also has good prices--it's only $6 for a pants hem. I've had several of my silk camisoles dry cleaned, and she was able to completely take out the stains. Kim is the BEST at hemming my jeans. She makes sure to keep my original hem and prices are very fair. I made the mistake of taking my jeans to a place in Almaden, paid through the nose, and just realized one of the hems is poorly done. Kim is a nice little vietnamese lady. She'll like you even more if you are/ speak vietnamese, lol. I got a few jeans hemmed here (original hem)- they did a good job, but not amazing- as in maybe I'm a OCD on the little details, but overall it was good. The dry cleaning is cheap, cheap, cheap... so can't argue there... $2.50- 3.00 per item so far (mostly pants and skirts)- I haven't done any dresses or suits there yet. I got 2 zipper fixes for $15 also... well, they actually replace the zippers altogether. The place is pretty clean and located off 85, Camden... in the Safeway Plaza off Branham Lane. Be careful. I have been going to Kim's for about 1 year. Bad customer service. The woman who sits at the front and does alterations is a real piece. Last time I was here they did a "switch." It seems that my shirts had a "special" type of button this time. Therefore they raised the price an additional $1.50. I've been going here for awhile now with basic tailoring needs and basic dry cleaning and they were doing a decent job until... I recently took a high end theory jacket here which consists of an outer layer with removable fur lining. The lining had a thick ribbed collar. I've trusted them for awhile now so didn't inspect everything that I took home. When I brought everything home, I realized that they used a different chemical to clean the fur lining of the jacket and whatever it was completely changed the color of the ribbed portion from a neutral taupe to a burnt orange. WTF. I'm pretty bummed since it -was- a pretty sweet jacket that kept me warm in SF and Seattle. Also, on another occasion, I asked for the straps of a basic cotton tank dress to be shortened. I trusted them with it, packed it on a summer vacation, and when I took it out to wear, found that the straps weren't really taken in at all?! I was confused. Anyway, I'm not happy that I won't be going here anymore as I had developed a friendly rapport with the owners. My clothes are important to me though. And like another user said, the odor isn't as fresh as I would expect nor do the clothes look gleaming and clean. read more

I am completely Re-Writing my review: I took in 5 light colored shirts and they recommended washing them as normal laundry as opposed to dry cleaning. I agreed as this is what my old cleaner used to do. The next exchange was problematic as they have below average English. Long story short they used a TON OF STARCH and I wanted no starch. I use the phrase a "TON OF STARCH" because my shirts were as crispy as cardboard sheets. Starch can be washed out but takes a small toll on the fabric's longevity. What I did NOT LIKE is how the five shirts were flattened together. The collars were either flattened, bent, or very oddly pressed. The collar area is what I care about most and whatever technique they use results in an unflattering collar. . read more

Love this place... even though it's miles from our house, we drop all our dry cleaning here and have even started getting our clothes altered here! The two ladies that greet you when you come in are so sweet and friendly. One takes care of the dry cleaning (super cheap & efficient) and the other is a seamstress. We've taken tuxedo pants to be altered, jeans to be hemmed, even got my bridal gown repaired (had tiny rips from where my heel had torn the chiffon hem of my gorgeous gown!). They were all done to perfection and I can't say more good things about them!! Oh perhaps one more... they seem to come up with prices from the top of their heads, but they're usually consistent and in any case it's always cheaper here than anywhere else! Plus, they're honest. They won't charge you for something unless you specifically asked them to do it. Definitely recommend them for all your dry-cleaning and alterations. read more

have mixed feelings about this establishment. It was recommended to me by a close relative, saying they are quick and do a great job. I walked in with a pair of pants, standard slacks. I indicated they are too long and need to be hemmed. They had me put them on (They have a small room to change in, very nice). The lady took measurements, pinned, etc... I was told it would be ready in a couple of days and the price would be $10. I was impressed, seems really reasonable. I went back, all ok. 2 days later (wearing the pants), the hem started to fall apart.... I went back in, explained the hem is falling apart and was told sorry. I said this was done here, and I'd like you to please fix it. They agreed to fix right then and there.... I thought i'd be nice, and thanked them. She literally took 2.5 minutes to do the job and when I looked at it, it looked VERY loose and "half ass". I asked if it will hold as it doesn't look as tight as the first time. She pushed the pants over the counter to me and said "you take now, goodbye", turned around and went to the back of the shop.... so... Pros: - they work fast - they have very convenient working hours (Sunday included) - they offer good prices - they have a changing room ready for alterations Cons: - horrible customer service/interaction manners - they speak VERY little English which makes it hard to confirm they understand your request - sort-of-but-not-really stand by their work I don't know yet if I'll ever go back. They do a good job with basic dry cleaning and their prices are reasonable. I have had a few problems though. While their hemming work is ok we've had some minor tears fixed here and the stitching was pretty sloppy. Their English isn't that great which means there's almost always a miscommunication we have to resolve before I can go. Lastly I brought a shirt here with a stain on it which I asked them to take care of. When I picked it up they were more than happy to charge me for it despite the fact that the stain was still there. When I pointed this out they agreed to try again and this time the stain came out somehow. All in all its a good place for inexpensive, basic dry cleaning but I would look elsewhere for other services. read more

The place is a pretty good dry cleaner. They are located right off the 85 and Camden..I've been coming here for a few months thanks to all of the good reviews they have received. The lady that helps me (could be Kim??) is always very nice and take pride in good customer service. I brought in a rabbit/leather fur coat to get cleaned..$60.00 but if was fine and when I got it back she pointed out some gray spots on the coat and took it back 2 more times to make sure it was perfect and 3 weeks later it was clean and the spots were gone everybody happy. They have a decent turn around time on getting back my clothes which is better then some of the other places I've tried... **In house alterations!!! can't beat it!!** read more

I got my 7's and Citizen's hemmed with the original hem put back on and am more than satisfied with their work. I can't believe I've lived here so long and didn't realize Kim's was right down the street. I always have to get my pants hemmed but put it off because it's so expensive and takes so long to get them back. I was pleasantly surprised to bring in 3 pairs of jeans and find out they were only going to cost me $7/pair to hem. I paid more than double the last time I got pants hemmed! I dropped them off Monday and picked them up Saturday and they're perfect - hem looks like the originals. Last time I came here and got a company item fixed. Its a carrier that costs $30 bucks brand new. It got a straight rip in it and she said she could do it for $12 bucks. Fast forward to today. The other side ripped so I came back. She took it and didn't discuss price. Just okay I'll do the same work. Figured same price. She gave me a receipt with a #25 written on the "rack" section. When I came in today she demanded $25 dollars. Why would I spend $25 on a item I already discussed the first time only cost $30 brand new. She 100% scammed me. If you come here make sure you get the price verbally and on paper. Overall I like Kim's well enough to continue coming for my tailoring needs, but mostly because of the decent prices and convenience of location(for me). I have to say, I'm a little taken back by the all the great feedback about their customer service,especially concerning the owner,I find her to be unfriendly & rude.The other day, I was dropping off a pair of pants to be hemmed I asked if I could pick them up @ 9:00 AM on the day they were to be ready,another lady working their said yes.Right away, the owner chimes in and rudely says, no, no I don't get here until 10:00 AM. I then said,oh well she( the other lady) just told me 9:00,what time do you open? She replies that they opened @ 9:00, but she doesn't get their until after 9:00.I was confused & annoyed. i recently switched over to kim's and i'm very happy with the results. i used to goto elite in willow glen, but they were over-priced and my clothes would come back with a faint smell that i did not enjoy at all. thus far my pieces from kim's have come back clean, well-pressed & odorless. i've also had one item altered (a buttcrack seam on some shorts if you must know) and it came out great. all reasonable prices as well. i'm pretty sure they send it out, but i definitely know they do some of the pressing and all the alterations on-site. read more

I'm short and most of the jeans I buy are way too long, they always alter my jeans with the original hem so it doesn't even look like they've been altered. I used to use a different dry cleaner, since I thought they were cheaper, but price at Kim's is actaully the same as the other dry cleaner near there, except they charge a little more extra to remove stains. read more

I have been going to this place for years and they do a great job dry cleaning for 2.85 a piece. I love the little asian lady that runs the place which is why I drive further than I need to and remain a loyal customer. I think the alterations are expensive and the price on alterations are always changing. I take my things elsewhere for alterations. They could not have messed it up more intentionally. They do not answer the phone. There is no manager? They do not speak English. They know how to ask for the business and money but when something goes wrong. No problem, no manager. Right. They have been reported to BBB and Attorney General. This place is right across the street from me and I love it! The little lady there is so nice and it's very reasonable. I have gotten several pairs of pants hemmed for me and my husband and she only charges like $5-1$5 bucks, it was only $10 for my jeans and that was to keep the original hem. I've looked around and I've gotten everywhere from 13 to 23 bucks for that service. I also took my wedding dress there after I got married to get cleaned and boxed and she only charged $120, the place across the street wanted $235! And don't worry, you definitley don't sacrifice quality for price. The only downside is that she only takes cash. read more

I have been very happy with Kim's for the last year that I have been going there. But... Kim just hired a young gentleman to help at the front (I guess she's got a medical issue to deal with) and he doesn't know what he's doing. When I went to pick up my order and questioned why two shirts were missing he was defensive, not apologetic. He insisted that the entire order was there. I told him that I was only going to pay for the 14 shirts that I was taking home with me, not the 16 that the tag said was in my order. He had a hard time coming up with my new total. There's nothing worse than someone who doesn't know what they're doing and then acts like you have no reason to question it. I reccommend not using this dry cleaner until Kim returns which is supposed to be in about a month. read more
