I am terrified that I now have some type of infection from the tools they used or the place in general. If that was not bad enough the service might be the worst I have ever experienced in the City. The staff treats you like garbage. The massage chairs also do not work, shockingly, although that was the least of my concerns. I almost got up and left mid-pedicure. I've been here several times both during lunch and after work. It's a great place for a quick mani during lunch and they also give a great regular mani when you tell them that you aren't in a rush. The prices are great and the staff is always very friendly. The essie polish selection is also amazing! :) My only slight complaint would be that there's no quick neck massage while drying like the rest of the places in the area ('m a sucker for those!). read more

I have been to this nail salon a hand full of times, the first two times I was having tips done, and I was not please. I felt that they were rushed and shaped the same; not the best. I think it was the person that I had working on them (Think she was the owner). But my friend who was with me had her tips done by someone else and they came out nice. This is a warm and friendly, neighborhood nail salon. I have been a patron for more than 10 years. The nail stylists are very experienced and have been there for many years. The prices can not be beat. Monday and Tuesdays you can have a manicure and pedicure for $19.95. I read the other reviews and would like to comment. This is not Bliss where you get a relaxing manicure and pedicure for 3 or 4 times the price. This is a nail salon for people on the go. I appreciate being able to have a manicure and pedicure on my lunch hour. The quality of the work is excellent. I have been going to Classic Nails place for two years now because YOU CANNOT BEAT $30 FOR A GEL MANICURE in midtown. They always do a great job, and my manicures usually last at least three weeks. It is not a fancy salon, but the owner has been there for over 20 years and works hard to make sure that her customers are happy. Needed a place in midtown east for a quick manicure. Not the cleanest place and very small. They did a fine job on my cuticles, but overall not a great gel manicure. $31.50 is a fine price, but if there were more places in midtown this wouldn't be my first choice. read more

Never Again I tried this place a few times because it is near my job and it is easier to do my nails on my lunch hour. I kept hoping that my third visit to this place would improve. Well it has not. Getting your nails is suppose to be a relaxing experience. Always feel RUSHED here. One girl do your pedicure while another is attempting to do your nails at the same time. My experience today was by far the worse. I had black nail polish on my toes and on one of my fingers. Immediately the two of them started talking in their language. I guess having to use more than one cotton ball was the issue. I had to constantly tell the girl doing my nails that is was uneven or slanted. She quickly mumbled yes yes and the owner/manager kept saying yes fix. No not yes fix....why do I have to continue to tell u how it do it. At one point I had to take file and show her. And yes once again the talking to each other in their language. I gave the girl who did my nails and toes the same amount of tip and I guess the girl doing my nails thought she should get more....chick be happy you got a tip. So the nice relaxing time I was expecting did not happen. So I guess I will now have to wait until I get near my home to get my nails done because no matter what special they running, I will not go back. read more

Found this palace by chance, I was looking to have only a pedi and they sold me to have both (with their "amazing" special, mani/pedi for $20 I believe on Wednesdays). Anyway, I was picking my color and I see them staring at me and giggling. Then they started rushing me letting me know they were all waiting for me (so what?!?! I can't take my time to pick a color now?!?!) I sit down and I have the pedicure and on the side I have the manicurist doing my nails on my left. Useless to say that the girl did my nails all crooked to the left - I notice because I usually do my own nails and she even complimented me on them -- just on time to ruin them. I let that go but that's not done.The pedicurist cut my toe nails and hurt me, she cut them all crooked and didn't bother to fix them. Besides all this they were talking and giggling in Chinese the WHOLE TIME and I have NO DOUBTS they were talking about me. Anyway, at the end I almost left without tipping the girls and they RAN after me asking for the tip!! I should have told them what I was thinking about them but I felt bad for them and tipped anyway. I WILL NEVER COME BACK HERE!! I have been here quite a few times being that it is the closest nail salon to my office. Like the saying goes, "you get what you pay for." To make a long story short, they are always rushing to get women in and out and my last waxing experience was a horror story! I went in to get my eyebrows waxed and they stuck me in the back room while another woman was getting her eyebrows waxed as well. Being that I haven't had the best experiences when it comes to waxing I told her about 5 times not to thin them out, that I just wanted the area cleaned and to not shape them. She completely ignored me and 5 minutes later I felt her tweezing in the same area for about 5 minutes- that's never a good sign. When I opened my eyes there were about 3 other workers overlooking her and speaking in their native tounges about god knows what. When I asked to look at them the first thing she said was "No, they look beautiful. I not done" oh boy, when i looked at myself in t hat mirror, I couldn't help but start crying. SHE HAD F----D UP MY EYEBROWS SO BAD! HALF OF THEM WERE GONE! Classic nails, how can you put unexperienced women to WAX, out of all places, EYEBROWS. I strayed from my usual spot in Chinatown because I was in a bind. Thought it was a great deal compared to nearby spots-- $10 to remove gel and $10 for regular mani. This place is dated, but I wasn't concerned because of the prices. Unfortunately, you get what you pay for. Paint around cuticles is messy and when I pointed out a part that was smoosheder, she pretended not to be able to see. Don't pay for $1 quick dry top coat because I still sat and dried for 25 minutes!! I had high hopes but I don't think I'll be back! I came to Classic Nails during my lunch break for a manicure/pedicure; while one member of the staff was incredibly sweet and friendly, the woman who was helping me sloppily rushed through the job and left me with messy, quick to chip fingernails. This place is just THE WORST!!! I received a manicure and a pedicure at this Nail Salon, if you can call it that. I asked the woman doing my pedicure to apply the foot scrapper in addition to the pumice she was already using. She did a bad job and when I showed her the areas she missed, she tried to offer me a $10 "treatment" to get rid of the extra dead skin. I told her "no thank you" and that she should just do a good job with the razor I asked her to use... she did not, and by the end of the pedicure, I still had dead skin on my heels and my nail polish looked just awful. To add insult to injury, she rubbed vaseline all over my feet to try to make up for the dead skin still present. They also rushed through everything. This was stressful. So on to the manicure. The manicurist did an okay job, but when it was time to pay, she threw in fees for things I did not know I was being charged for on top of the "tax" I was being charged. The 22.99 special came out to $30... not sure what tax rate they use. I paid.Then she demanded a %20 tip for both herself and the person who did my pedicure and refused to finish my manicure until she received the tip she demanded. In America, this is called extortion! She yelled at me and gave me an attitude, as I explained that I was not happy with my pedicure, nor her tone or demeanor. I told her that if she did not finish it, I would have to call some one, namely the police, for her not finishing the service that I already paid for. I told her I have time to wait. After talking about me in her native tongue, she snatched my hand to apply the base coat and then threw it on the table. I told her that she had better do a good job, as I paid for this $30 manipedi "special" and that she had better not man handle my hands as she completed the job, to which she replied "my English not so good" ...all of a sudden? I dried my nails and as I went to leave, they again demanded the tip, even after the altercation and snatching of my hands. They shouted at me as I left and told me to never come back...over a $12 tip. I couldn't believe the service I received. They were nice when I arrived, but I was treated no better than a thief when I left. Needless to say, I WAS EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED WITH THE SERVICE AND TREATMENT AND WILL NEVER! RETURN AGAIN! Quality is quality, and this place has none. I now have to go to my own manicurist this evening to redo my nails, and I will definitely be using that tip money specifically for that. I used to have my nails done here at lunch, it was convenient. Then there was a turnover in staff and they began to charge for EVERYTHING! I was in dire need of a manicure and pedicure today so I decided to make an appointment. I went in and looked at the price list. $18 for a gel manicure and $20 for a regular pedicure. $5 to use razor (because the razor is illegal and if they get caught they have to pay fine). I went to pay and the bill was $58!! I questioned the charges and she said $30!!! for gel manicure, I pointed to the price list and she said that is for clear gel. The only thing I did not do was take a picture of the sign. I paid the "BAIT & SWITCH" but will never use that salon again. This is by far the worst experience ever and the gel manicure is terrible; the worst one I have ever received. She told me girl is new?? they lost a customer today and I will spread the word because this is terrible business. read more
