I visited Clayton's last night for dinner and ordered Salmon. I asked that it be cooked medium well another person also had Salmon and made no comment on the temperature. My salmon came out very quickly and was nearly raw, the other portion on the table seemed fine. I asked that mine be redone and what I got back was fish that had been microwaved beyond recognition. I am a big fan of Salmon and this was the worst I've ever had. I would not recommend Clayton's, there are far better choices in the area. read more

Food is always fresh and service is excellent. My husband lives their short ribs. I would have given them 5 stars but my macadamia crusted grouper was slightly over cooked. The appetizer " goat cheese & tomato jam jar" was served with crostini and was delicious. read more

Go ahead, read all of the previous Yelp reviews, and you'll easily see that Clayton's is an excellent place to eat in siesta key. We have been here on vacation about 15 times and this is our first time to set foot in Clayton's. I feel pretty stupid that I never even knew this place existed until I saw it on Yelp. Everything we had here was delicious; from the free bread through the entrees. My wife had the Hurricane (you could definitely taste the alcohol in this- there was no question that they gave you your moneys worth). The Funghi pizza with arugula was excellent, as was the Grilled Salmon & the Margherita Pizza. The Seafood Chowder was also excellent. All of the employees were friendly and helpful. We especially loved "Patrick" the young guy who was always quick to refill our waters- we were parched from a day on the beach! He also engaged in some great conversations about the local perceptions of MTV's new Siesta Key "reality show". We will definitely be back to this place. read more

This restaurant is not worth the money. They were out of pizza (who is out of pizza), soup of the day is beef stew (what is that) and the menu is sad (including only a 8oz filet). Do not recommend! Visited on spring break, avoid and head to Hub or Curt's!!! read more

Had a lovely dinner with the family, we ordered a couple of the espresso martinis and started with the meatballs and Mac n cheese, meatballs were tasty and the Mac cheese was one of the best I've had. For entree we ordered the filet mignon and the ossobuco special. The filet was tender and served with fresh grilled veggies. The ossobuco was fall of the bone tender and juicy with the sherry sauce. Is there a place in Siesta/Sarasota that makes bad seafood? We dined here 11/7/21 and loved it. We ordered the Trout almondine and scallops gnocchi, and I had an espresso martini. For dessert we shared a macadamian nut brownie. The service was courteous and on point, menu is fairly large with lots of choices, and the vibe in the place that Sunday night was great. Outstanding lunch We arrived shortly before they closed between lunch and dinner. It was busy when we walked in but thinned out to just a few of us by the time we left, conversation noise dropping off. They have a nice outdoor seating area but we opted for the indoors with the AC. I loved the décor, large local artist painted mostly signs filled the walls, adding color and things to read. Service was spot on from start to finish. Our server checked with us or kept an eye on us throughout the meal. If she was anxious for us to finish up we didn't sense it and did not feel rushed at all. It was a pleasant visit. As for my CSG Burger, it was outstanding. It was thick and juicy with a great melted cheddar cheese and great taste. A thick slice of tomato made the whole thing slippery enough where it took some effort to keep it all together. One of the side choices was housemade potato chips. They were out, so I opted for the fries, and glad with how that turned out. We did a couple take outs here last Spring after the vaccines opened up travel again. We really liked what we had for take out that on our current trip we decided to dine in. Very neighborhood type feel. Auspicious start when there was a long delay to get service after sitting down. But the server was very apologetic explaining the front didn't tell him our table was his.
