Thoroughly enjoyed this place the first time we had to back a second round. The "Mahi Fish Tacos" were amazing. Full of flavor, fish cooked just right either grilled or blackened. The "Fungi Pizza" was also great! For dessert we had the "Berry Upside-Down Cake" with Ice Cream, anything you order here expect the best. A little pricy but delightful food! I rarely post, but when a meal is exceptional or awful, I like to give a review. First off, I am aware that going out on Valentine's day is less than ideal for normal service. But in this case, we didn't order anything off the special menu and it was subpar. We have eaten here before, and I can definitely say the food has gone downhill. We ordered a kids meal of chicken fingers that came out black. Our waitress was appropriately appalled and brought out a complimentary pizza ( after telling us there was no pizza) The salads , both beet and farmers were drenched in dressing and inedible. For the price of dinner, I will never be able to recommend this the local family and friends. No management came over to inquire, even after food was sent back. And nothing but the black chicken was taken off. So disappointing! read more

This had to be the worst meal we have every had. Not worth $20 let alone $100. My husband ordered the salmon and asked for it well done. It came out about raw sushi level. They took it back and brought out the same piece of fish really cooked and on the same cold plate of risotto and veggies. No sauce put back on the fish. Just the fish on cold, watered down risotto. We told the waiter and then they bring out a bowl of hot risotto. No credit offered. Oh and watch your bill, charged for key lime pie which we never ordered. Please don't waste your money. My husband and I happened to come here on Valentine's Day forgetting it was a date night holiday and not only did they accommodate us with a great table but the waitstaff and food was fabulous! Our server Sam was so attentive and helpful with recommendations, constantly checking on us! We ordered the wedge to share and the chicken with risotto and my husband had the grouper, delicious!!!! Hands down one of the best chicken dishes and the risotto had corn, spin and prosciutto! The last time we came to Siesta Key, we stayed just down the street at Vista Hermosa for a week and never knew about Claytons. That was definitely unfortunate, as Claytons has some of the best food IN Siesta Key! I had their mahi mahi fish taco with salsa verde, and it may have been the best fish taco I've ever had. My wife had their burger (delicious), and my in-laws had their braised beef which was also awesome according to them. What prevented me from giving them a full 5 stars is that their patio (where we sat) is rather sparse. It almost felt like we were sitting in their parking lot. We'll definitely be back though, and next time, we'll try sitting indoor. read more
