This review is overdue but I am so impressed Cleaners LA! The first time I came to pick up my clothes, I parked my car half a block away at a meter - it had only a few minutes left. The guy there gave me coins to put in the meter and insisted on me going back to refill it, so he could find my clothes. I was so touched! Service like this is rare these days. It is such a friendly, professional and warm store. He then explained to me they are sending some pieces back to rework, because of stains that I didn't even notice myself! I work Downtown and one of my clients recommended this place. Being that she's an overly picky person, I figured if she used this place then they must be good. I scheduled a same day pickup through the app, and they showed up to my job later than the quoted pickup time. I didn't say anything, because it's LA. Traffic sucks. Anyway, a week later I received an email stating that my items were ready. Because of my work schedule, I'm unable to walk over and pick them up. I start at 9, they open at 10. I leave work around 7:30/8 and they're closed. I have been calling and sending emails to schedule the delivery of my items. It's been more than 3 weeks and no one has responded. It's not just the work that makes this cleaners amazing, it's also the owner, Babak. My items are always cleaned in a timely manner and the customer service is impeccable. I have dropped off a blanket too many times that my dog purposely soils and it is always returned to me as if nothing happened with a smile and chuckle from him. The hours are also perfect for my work schedule, which is something rare in downtown LA. They're open pretty late! Other cleaners close way too early so I can never pick up my stuff in time. Also, parking is pretty difficult in the daytime anywhere in downtown, so with this cleaners being open later when parking is free is a huge help for people who have to drive. TIP: If you have to drop off stuff in the daytime and you can't find street parking, there's a lot next to the cleaners that is pretty convenient. read more

On the first visit I had 1 pair of jean altered, 1 dress cleaned, 1 sweater cleaned and one 1 top cleaned. My total was $35. I can't remember exactly how the receipt was itemized. Found this place on Yelp, was excited to try them and hoping they could be the dry cleaner for me from now on since I just moved to LA. But unfortunately I was really disappointed. First of all, they didn't deliver the clothes until really late at night (at almost 10pm)... Second and most importantly, instead of clipping the dry cleaner number/tag they use on the tags of the shirts/dresses inside, they used paper clips to pin their tags on our clothes and left holes. I had a silk dress! How could they? Where I am from the dry cleaners don't even clip anything onto your clothes' tags, instead they wrap around the tags to clip on their numbers and etc. not a good experience for me. read more

He genuinely cares about each person that comes into his shop. He wants your clothes to look their best and even if something isn't perfect, he'll go above and beyond to make you whole. Cleaners LA did a good job dry cleaning my clothes and the prices were very reasonable. The people were super friendly and they gave us a discount because it was our first time, so that was nice. Even though there is no parking lot we were able to park very close-by on the street. The only issues were that they said it would be ready in 5 days (Wednesday) but it took a full 7 days (until Friday) for us to receive the message that the items were ready to be picked up. That seems like a long time for just dry cleaning, no alterations or special requests. Also my brand new pair of pants, which I had never washed or had dry cleaned before, came back with a broken part. The rope that connects the lining to the pants was ripped and now hangs down out of the pant leg so I will have to sew it up. I will still go back because they were very friendly and seem to be trustworthy. read more

This was my attempt to give Cleaners LA a second chance after they ruined a silk blouse a few months back, mostly because they are close to my business and I believe everyone deserves a second chance. I brought them a vintage authentic Chanel trench coat to have dry-cleaned. The only real issue I wanted addressed was soiling around the collar. I expressed my concern over the large amount of Chanel logo buttons throughout the coat. The owner suggested I have them removed and sewn back on post dry cleaning which at 2 dollars a button would take the dry cleaning bill for this coat well over 100 dollars total! I'm sorry but that was not an option! I suggested that maybe they could be careful and count the buttons post cleaning and check the machine if one was to have fallen off. The owner and I counted the buttons twice and he took note of the total. Fast forward to a week later when the minute I walked in to pick up the coat the owner greeted me with " we lost a button!" I was like are you kidding me? Then I proceeded to check the soiling around the neck and it was exactly the same as before and I pointed it out to him and he claimed that it was "better" I was horrified! As the situation progressed he began to scream at me like an insane person. He then offered a 10% discount after berating me on how it was my fault (are you kidding me?) I paid the full amount and left! When I returned home I discovered along with some new bleed marks on the shoulders that where not there before, that they did not "loose" the button they broke it off, because the loop that holds the button on was still attached to the coat. I seldom write reviews, but when someone is this unprofessional and reckless with your very expensive garment, I feel it is my duty to let others know that this dry cleaners is not a place to take any fine garments because they will charge you the price of an upscale cleaner but not deliver the customer service or product you would expect with such high prices. As Babak says, no business can be completely perfect and not make mistakes, but it is the business' responsibility to own up to and make up for those mistakes. I know he will, but so far I have been happy with everything. I've some cashmere sweaters, waistcoats, button up shirts, trousers, and ties cleaned for my S.O. and fantastic alterations done on my dresses and skirt. It's very nice that he's such a perfectionist about alterations. I've never taken shoes or handbags to be cleaned here but I am thinking to have some leather things taken to him for cleaning some time. I know one thing that can't be helped for the meanwhile is that customers have a hard time finding a parking situation. Hopefully that will be remedied soon. -Em read more

Owner refused to take responsibility for what occurred under his watch, blaming all others, including the furrier he outsources to and amazingly even UPS (the item was returned via shipping). I totally can not believe what have happened. This is my first time try cleaners LA and I choose it because the high rate. BUT! I got my white down jacket dirtier than it was!!!! I just bought it one month ago and I only wore it for two to three times. I had some black ink on my jacket and I decided to dry wash it. (This is my first time washing down jacket and I don't know that I can wash it in water.) yes, no more ink when it was returned but super dirty on the hat and sleeves. Super super dirty!! Dirtier than it was! There's a tag on it saying that they've tried very very hard to wash but some dirt cannot be removed. Then I tried to wash it by my hands and I can easily washed them off using my hand soap!! The jacket was toooo dirty and it still takes me about one hour to wash it throughly. Also, the zipper lost part of its color and the original tag (Some fashion tag made by cloth was disappeared!) My friends guess that my clothes may be worn by someone after it has been cleaned. I tried not to think in that way but I cannot understand what I have encountered. A dirtier and almost destroyed jacket after dry clean?? NOT recommend this store at all! Having update of this review. The store contacted me and asked me for photos. I didn't ask for a refund or anything else. But if they think they are totally right. I will attach the photo of my jacket to see is there any reason I can give them good rate. I didn't take a picture of the dirty dirty jacket but after I spent one hour washing it by hand, there's still dirt on it. I take a picture and also the zipper with color lost. Babak is the man, he has a keen eye for knowing how to tailor my clothing to best fit my frame while maintaining the integrity of the design. He's a really cool guy to talk to while waiting for your stuff, and his shop is really nicely decorated and feels very inviting.
