3.5, really. The Service: Everytime I come in here, I get the feeling that the owner isn't very fond of me. Given, the first time I came in, I did take a great deal of time deciding on what to get. The girl employed is pretty nice at times; she's friendly, but not exactly welcoming. There was one time, however, when I bought a dozen bagels near closing time and the owner awkwardly gave me a free small pint of their home-whipped cream cheese, which I found amusing and nice. The Food: Despite always feeling awkward here, I do quite like their bagels. The large variety of flavours they offer is pretty amazing, and they're all very delicious. They're bagels aren't hard either and rather soft and aromatic when toasted. What I absolutely love is their cream cheese, especially the specialty strawberry cream cheese. It goes great on any plain toasted bagel. I once had their iced mocha drink, but it tasted more like an iced chocolate drink than and iced coffee drink. They also offer bagel sandwiches that all look very fresh. The first time I came, I ordered an open-faced smoked salmon bagel sandwich. It was absolutely delicious, though I can't stand capers so I brushed them all off. Other than that, the smoked salmon tasted very fresh and wasn't overwhelming in the smoked flavour and wasn't slimy either. The Decor: It's a very tiny place, but also offers a wide outdoor seating. The tables aren't always wiped down, but they're usually clean for the most part. There's a lot of decorations all around the place, which gives it a very welcoming feel and it's very fun to just sit down and look around the place. It's really not intended to be a sit down and eat kind of place, to be honest, but the large windows and pleasant outdoor seating really makes you want to take your time there. The Extras: No extras, but the outdoor seating really is lovely. The Verdict: I come here quite often and will most likely continue doing so. This place isn't bad at all! Came into this cute little bagel shop Sunday morning and there was only one man working (possibly the owner). My bf and I ordered an everything bagel with cream cheese and a bacon, cheese, and egg on a jalapeño cheese bagel. Bagels were very soft and the cream cheese had a slight sweetness to it! I also read that they make their own cream cheese too. Plus! Some reviews say the customer service is awkward and dissatisfying because of how he rings people up at the register... but if this was the case the owner has his own system of how he handles his customers then let him be! Oh my gosh I always pass by this place but it is always closed. However I was able to make it the other day and I am so glad I did this place really hits the spot when he comes to bagel cravings for breakfast! There is so much variety it was a bit overwhelming because everything sounded so good. I got the breakfast bagel and it was very flavorful and filling I was able to eat the second half for lunch. The bagels here are amazing! We've tried a number do items here and are always happy with what we order! Right now during the pandemic the associate taking orders has a mic so you can hear them clearly while you order. They give you a alcohol wipe for you to use on your finger for the keypad which I really appreciate. They have really taken the safety of their customers and associates into consideration. We ordered the jalapeño bagel and jalapeño cream cheese, cinnamon bagel and honey butter and jalapeño bagel with PB&J! All of it tasted great!! Put together a perfect breakfast combo to start off the day. The place was closed for couple days and is now open under new ownership, and it is cleaner and brighter without losing its original coziness. Love this bagel place. It's always been in Walnut ever since I was a kid, but I didn't try it until recently. Their everything bagels are my absolute favorite. It's so encrusted with garlic, onion, and the sesame. I got their orange juice today and I'm not sure if it's freshly squeezed or comes from the store, but it tasted extra refreshing this morning. My favorite cream cheese is the plain one. I used to like their jalapeño kind, but I think they started putting sriacha in it, and the plain became more matched with my taste buds. I always make it a point to come here every time I come home. I'm so happy it's only a 5 minute drive for me. These bagels are so good that they come second after New York City bagels (I went to NYC for my honeymoon) and that's a huge statement to make because those bagels are the most amazing things in the world. read more

EXCITED FOR DELICIOUSNESS!!! Been coming here for a little more than 10 years. Owners have changed and things have gotten bearable or worse and I've either taken breaks in coming or avoided the place all together. Checking back every once in awhile to see how things are going. Now for the first time in a long time I enjoy patroning this establishment again. Two truly exceptional people are running it and they make an amazing hard working team, and they complement each other very well. The atmosphere is warm and inviting again, the bagels are soft and fluffy, and everything I've ordered so far is delicious! It's back in my families regular rotation. I love this place. Friendly staff and amazing owners. You must purchase large orders in advance and that's okay. The pandemic hit many and they can't always have excess bagels so they make enough for the day. They are delicious! The cinnamon sugar is my favorite. It's perfect for a cold day with a cup of coffee. My husband loves the lox bagel. It's open faced and hearty. The jalapeño bagel has a lot of kick. Tasty cream cheese if a tad sweet, but it juxtaposes nicely against savory bagels. This cream cheese is ideal for the sweet bagels. I purchased half a dozen savory bagels for 8 dollars: 2 "everything" 2 "jalapeño" and 2 "onion". Here's the deal, the onion sprinkles were burnt and this burnt taste and aroma permeated not only the onion bagels but the other bagels as well. Such a shame because they had a nice chew indicative of a good solid bagel. A design flaw of the onion variety. Other bagels were chewy and tasty and I really enjoyed the jalapeño kick! Medium coffee for 1.75 self serve. Coffee was okay. Service is quick but unorganized; the man behind the counter is juggling everyone and not cohesively ether. Saw a microwave back there--this is off putting because if I wanted anything microwaved I would stay in my kitchen . Though it is debatable since this seemed to be a one man ship. I guess the microwave is his first mate and crew all in one. Quality bagels first round have me thinking I shall be back to try more flavor combinations. read more

They make the best bagels in Eastern SGV hands down. Freshly made daily and the service is beyond expectation. The owner get to the shop about 5 am and start making bagels. He opens around 7:30 and he made sure the bagels not sold are donated to local charities or businesses. I am grateful that we have such an awesome shop serving great products. Money well spent. FYI: If u want to order a dozen or more. Call a day ahead or come early like 8 am to get what u want. After certain time, bagels are sold out. Bad service. I asked for a bagel with cream cheese and the man handed me a plain cold bagel with no cream cheese. When I asked if it would be toasted he told me it would be extra. I found Clearwater Bagel probably about a year ago, so this review is long overdue! I commute to CPP, so Clearwater is on the way there. My sister and I have visited many times, so I'll try to include all of the bagels we've tried! Sweet Bagels: I've only had a Toasted Cranberry Bagel with their homemade cream cheese, and it was pretty great! My sister and I especially enjoyed the cream cheese since we've never tried it homemade before. Savory Bagels: When we order savory, it's usually for an open faced or sandwich bagel. My sister and I almost always go for the Sundried Tomato Basil Bagel, and it's our favorite type! We've also had the Onion, Everything, Plain, Jalapeño + Cheese, and Sesame Bagels, all of which are amazing too! The Onion and Everything are very strong flavor-wise, so I would suggest having it as a sandwich. Open Face/Sandwich Bagels: Sundried Tomato Basil is the way to go, but they do run out of some bagels so it might now always be available :') The Sandwiches are quite large, so make sure you have an appetite! We've had the California Club, Veggie Burger and Americana Bagel Sandwiches, and all of which are so good! I did find the veggie patty of the Veggie Burger to be a bit sour/acidic, but it might just be me. The Open Face Bagels are quite large too! We've had the Classic Lox and Lemon Pepper Bagels. 99% of the time we've ordered from Clearwater, there is at least one Lox Bagel in the order. I've tried their Lox with each of the savory bagels above (minus Jalapeño Cheese), but I highly recommend the Sundried Tomato Basil, so way you can really savor the toppings with a bagel that complements it well! If you're looking for a kick of flavor on top of the lox and capers, try the Everything Bagel with it. I would like to try their other Open Face and Sandwich Bagels, but their Lox is so good and I have to get it every time! As of recent, they are not including red onions in the Lox Bagels due to a salmonella outbreak and recall. Either way, it's still an amazing Bagel!! Drinks: Their Iced Coffee and Orange Juice are good! They do have a fridge next to the register with a variety of drinks to choose from, and I've noticed that the selection is growing too! Customer Service: I feel like many businesses I've been to don't really interact with their customers, but Clearwater is the most welcoming and lovely in terms of customer service! I'm not sure how many people work there, but the young woman and man have both been so nice and accommodating! It's very obvious that they value and care about their customers. The second time I went, the woman remembered me (after one visit!!) and spoke to me a little. My sister and I were quite impressed since it's not something that happens often. The woman gave me a complimentary tea once, and the man gave me two cinnamon sugar bagels today (they're both so kind!!). I haven't tried them yet but I'll have one for breakfast tomorrow! The only complaint I have is that it's not close enough! The 30 minute drive home feels so long having to wait to eat their bagels, but it's so worth it! If you have time to spare and are looking for something filling and lighter to eat, definitely check out Clearwater Bagel! They're open for takeout, and I'd recommend calling ahead to ask what types of bagels they have available since they do run out. If you'd like to order in bulk (6/+), I think you have to call a day in advanced. I haven't bought in bulk, but I plan to sometime in the next week or two! read more

I had the sundried tomato with low fat cream cheese. They put a lot of cream cheese on there but it tastes really good. Fortunately, when I was there, the couple who manage the store were working there (rather than the other people). Service was good and even shared a laugh with the man. I don't know why they have a C rating however. They have about 5 tables inside the store with 2 seats per table, so if a lot of people show up, then you'll have to find seating elsewhere. read more

I've been going to this place since I was four. There have been a bunch of different owners but the recipe is always the same. Some bagels change but overall is the same. Currently there is an Asian couple that own it. The man is pretty quiet but super nice. His wife is a sweet heart. She'll put a smile on your face in the morning. The bagels are delicious. The cream cheese is the best I've ever had. I usually get the breakfast sandwich. Man those things can keep me full for half a day. This place is without a doubt the best bagel place in the world. I would slap someone if they told me otherwise. I would come here everyday if I didn't care about how many carbs I ate lol. Clearwater Bagel is really a gem in Walnut! It's a cute little mom n pop shop with a really nice homey atmosphere and has a little patio area for seating as well. The staff was really genuinely nice and helpful. They have breakfast bagels, sandwiches, salads, bagels with a list of several types of cream cheese, coffee, smoothies, tea and more! Best part is that everything is fresh and made in house from scratche. I am very picky with how my bagel is cooked, but this place makes them perfect! The bagels are light and airy It just melts in your mouth with so much flavor in every bite. Its an all around quick stop to hop in for a quick bite. It's a great place for breakfast and lunch. Clearwater Bagels came in clutch. I slept for maybe 3 hours the night before and went in there to grab some food and coffee before a long day doing an orientation. The lady at the front who helped me was so friendly and even gave me a free sample of their delicious coffee. So of course I had to coffee with my bagel.
