Ok so this place is pretty cool, except that they don't open until the afternoon...but the other hotel bar does and their happy hour specials are even better. The view is great, the service is pretty good...drink prices are stiff...but the mai tais are really good! We did happy hour every day there. Great beach bar with good food & drink & you can't beat the view of black rock & all it's activity. When we come to Maui we love to stay at the Sheraton and spend most of the time on the beach enjoying the crystal clear water & great snorkeling. Last trip we discovered the Cliff Dive bar not only has a great view but the food is really good, excellent service & the drinks are great. We like to share a sandwich for lunch so the grilled chicken works for both my husband & I. Location is great - close to the beach and is a nice spot to watch people do cliff diving from the Black Rock. Only tried the fish tacos which didn't taste too bad (expectation was set low to begin with). Service was very slow. We stayed at the Sheraton, so of course we frequented this place during our 8 day stay here. It's great for the sale of continence as it is right by the pool. The drinks used to be better here, specifically their Mai Tai. The food really is just okay. The views are gorgeous, which is the only plus side. Great drinks with happy hour deals during afternoon and late night. This bar is located right in the center of the pool area of the resort. Whether you sit at the bar or one of the tables, you get views of the ocean and can even watch the cliff diver ceremony. The staff is always friendly and the mixed drinks are great. Maui Mist and White Water were my faves! The food selection is limited but tasty. The food does have the typical resort pricing so we didn't eat much there but definitely enjoyed the happy hours! Its a great spot to walk up and pick up some drinks to take back to your room or enjoy on your lounge chair poolside too. read more

This review is for the hotel customer service. The Cliff Dive Bar service and the hotel location are both good, but Beware! My girlfriend and I had the skewer combo for an early lunch at the Cliff Dive Bar and afterward we each were on and off the toilet for an hour, fighting for toilet time. We spent another hour trying to speak with somebody about the issue. Very poor customer service! Called guest services and the representative told me that it must have been something else I ate somewhere else. We hadn't eaten anything else all day. Just finished speaking with the hotel manager, who basically treated me like a crazy person! She said that nobody else had complained and if I had food poisoning I wouldn't be up in the lobby talking with her. No empathy whatsoever... Unbelievable! Both customer service and manager referred us to security. What is security supposed to do?! Beware!!! read more

We ate here twice on our trip just because of the location which is inside our hotel. Both times I would rate the experience the same....food isn't terrible but it isn't something I will be in a rush to have again. First time we tried the pulled pork sandwich - comes with chips. It was at sunset so we watched the guy lite the torches and jump from the black Rock. This is a good viewing spot for that nightly event. The second time we split the signature burger and chips - had water to drink and the total bill came to $25. That seems outrageous even for vacation food - seriously 1 burger for $25 is crazy! read more

So the average rating is 3 1/2 here, I would have given this place a 4 last year. Service was even friendlier then, and they regularly made the house chips. This year they try to sell the Maui chips in a bag, somehow thinking they're comparable -- not even close. Strange, on Friday they no longer sell house chips, just have the bagged chips...on Saturday they were making the house chips because their vendor could not supply more bagged chips and they ran out. Get your s#*t together! Most of all, management: understand what customers remember this place for, and don't take them off the menu. Yes, margins are important but you need to attract customers first. For example, your skewers are excellent...great idea, although they are WAY too pricey. $14 for 1 skewer, really? Again, it seems MARGINS are at top of the priority list here and it's painfully obvious. read more

The menu was skimpy. Not much for food options. We ordered the mahi-mahi fish tacos, chicken quesadilla, and Kailua Pork sandwich. Our bill can out to $79 with 18% tip. I know we're at a resort and the food prices are going to be jacked up but man at least give us an adult sized portions. But hey I can't complain too much, we were dining near the beach, ocean views with the sunset, and a live singer....I just wished the Sheraton perfected all this with better HAWAIIAN food not something I can get at Rubio's. read more

Sounded like a must do on previous post to get here early and watch the diving from the Cliff Bar, forget it. Just watch the cliff diving from the beach. Food was not very good and way over priced. Had a twenty dollar burger that was no where as good as the $16 burger at Cheeseburger In Paradise. Plus the $10 parking added to the pain. Of course every where charges for parking in Hawaii. Overall I wish I would of spent my $150 for dinner for four of us eating somewhere else. read more

for all the dining options at the Sheraton maui, the cliff dive bar ended up being my favorite. there were always seats available, both outside in the sun and underneath the overhang. the food took a bit of time to get to the table, but the waitstaff did come around quickly with drinks in the meantime. one of my favorite dishes was the grilled tiger shrimp appetizer. it came with about 4 big shrimp atop a delicious Asian slaw. I also really liked the chicken wings with a teriyaki glaze and also served over slaw. everyone who got burgers and sandwiches also really enjoyed them and the waitress gave us extra sides of slaw and the delicious pineapple relish. the drink menus is really good, although pricey but there is a happy hour from about 2-4 that reduces each drink to $8. the drinks are fruity, refreshing, and the right balance of alcohol to round out a great lunch at the beach. read more

I had a really great experience here in August. I went to many bars/restaurants during my stay and The Cliff Dive made the best drinks in my opinion. They weren't too expensive and not watered down. I asked the bartender Benjamin if he could make me a mojito with vodka instead of rum and it was delicious!! Benjamin was very welcoming and good at what he does. Overall great time! read more

The first day going here started off well, server was attentive and very friendly. Since we are staying here at the hotel we returned everyday after that and the service went down hill. We didn't get greeted for at least 10 minutes and when it had rained, we did not get our tables wiped off for us. It's unfortunate that the service is poor for such a fun hotel. The food was good if you eat meat but there was one veggie option (nachos) or you could just pay $14 for a small caesar salad... Yeah right. Disappointing food quality and high price point for what you get. I would avoid the nachos as our chips were stale and it tasted like everything came out of a can. If you plan to eat here the burger may be the safest choice as it was edible but for 20 bucks and no side it is not worth it. It was just a frozen patty but the size is decent. read more
