    Thee most perfect Guinness!
    Gladys A.

It was my first time making a trip to Mammoth Lakes and my friend and I stumbled upon this pub gem! We got there at about 6pm on a Saturday so it wasn't so busy yet (which I personally enjoy more), super cozy atmosphere, our bartender Possum (I hope I got that correct) was super welcoming and awesome, and they had a nice selection of draft beers & spirits. I ordered my first ever Guinness (have tried it before but never actually ordered one, been heavy into Guinness series on Netflix so was excited about that) and it was thee most perfect Guinness! I appreciate that they had touch tunes around the time we were there so was able to enjoy my dranks to some of my fav jams. Eventually as the night progressed more people started arriving and it did get much livelier and packed so it'd be mindful of that depending on what kind of experience you're trying to have. Overall, I definitely look forward to visiting again in the future and recommend checking this sweet pub out :-)

Great ambience, I don't know what the other reviews we're talking about the bartenders were amazing. That said the website and Facebook are wrong, happy hour ends at 6 not 6:30 or 7. They were also out of the cider and Irish coffee. Good time overall though.

Decided to still try out a couple of new spots to give Mammoth a chance and was pleasantly surprised by Mammoth Tavern. Stopped in on a Saturday night and were told that the wait would be about 30 to 40 minutes but were seated in about 10! I highly recommend waiting in their waiting area or downstairs for your table as they will come to find to if something opens up quicker. Everything we ordered was tasty. We were very hesitant to try the Asian sticky ribs but it actually ended up being really good. I can't remember what the vegetable dish (4th pic) was called but it was also very good if you got a bite with everything in it. It had sweet potato, beet, candied walnuts and pomegranate seeds! We also ordered some drinks. The curry drink (forgot the name) was surprisingly good despite the odd list of ingredients that went in. Their local black cherry soda was also very nice. Service is great and very helpful when it came to recommendations. The space is small and doesn't allow dogs which was a bummer but still a spot I would come back to try more of their seasonal items!

We typically like sitting at the bar but bar seats were full so we opted for a table rather than wait. There are both high top and low top seating available as well as bar seating against the windows and fermentation silos. There is also seating outdoors if weather permits. The tables use a bar code scanning system to order food and drinks, then a person will deliver the food. I'm okay with this but I can see why some people would be frustrated with this process. For the appetizer we ordered the POBLANO ARTICHOKE DIP - $16 Artichoke, Poblano Chile, Corn, Cheddar, Colby Jack, Parmesan, Garlic, Mayonnaise, Sour Cream, Cream Cheese. Warmed and served with Pita bread or chips. We elected for the tortilla chips. This is a tasty appetizer and the perfect size for two people. For drinks we ordered two different hot cocktails served almost like a hot tea. Mulling it over - $17 Glass Creek Vodka, Mulled Spice Juice, Lemon. This was quite good and had a little bit of sweetness. The second was The Hot Toddy. $17. American Single Malt Whiskey, Lemon, Honey, Ginger. This tasted a little stronger and no sweetness. Do I think the drinks are a little expensive , yes. But sadly that is what you come across in a ski village. Personally I was a little shocked at how many families with young children were at the distillery but I've noticed that in almost every bar or brewery in Mammoth. Another good but different experience at Shelter Distilling.

Unfortunately, I've seen this at other places too, just over how ridiculous tipping has become and will avoid these places in the future. Sorry for the rant. Anyway, I was giving 3 stars initially and then the food came out. Both my buddy and I got the hot chicken sandwich, which I had here over a year ago and was good. This time it was over cooked and dry. So dry it was hard to swallow even with slaw in it. The waffle fries were stale, and both the sandwiches and fries were room temperature even though it came out within minutes of ordering. I appreciate fast food delivery, but this seemed like a it was just reheated. The server was friendly and came back and checked in us, so that was good, but we'll be going back to our regular brewery in the future.

Tucked into the Village right next to Gomez's Mexican Restaurant (which is no slouch itself), this place pulls off that rare trick: it actually feels like a legit Italian escape...just with better snow outside. Let's start where all good decisions begin: pizza as an appetizer. Yes, you heard that right. Their authentic pizza oven isn't just for show--it's the real deal. Thin crust, blistered just enough, and gone in about 90 seconds at our table. No regrets. The tricolore salad is a solid opener--fresh, simple, and a nice way to pretend you're pacing yourself. You're not. Because then comes the main event: Voltaggi-O's. Imagine your childhood love affair with Chef Boyardee's Spaghetti-O's...then imagine it went to culinary school, studied abroad in Naples, and came back with confidence, depth, and a killer wine list. That's this dish. It's nostalgic, elevated, and borderline dangerous in how easy it is to keep eating. And honestly? The staff might be the real MVPs. Servers and bartenders here are five-star across the board--attentive without hovering, smiling like they actually enjoy being there, and full of spot-on recommendations (which, let's be honest, we happily followed). Bottom line: If you're in Mammoth and craving Italian that goes beyond the usual ski-town fare, Vulcania is the move. Come hungry, order the pizza "appetizer" (don't overthink it), and don't you dare skip the Voltaggi-O's. You'll leave full, happy... and already planning your next visit.
