Great little diner in the middle of Bourbon street with fresh cooked food. Great for burgers and breakfast. No cash, only credit cards. The food was tasty and the staff were excellent. It can get busy so be patient. One of the only places that the music was quiet enough that you could actually hear what was going on. We came in during a night on the town for a quick bite. A person who seemed like the manager was rude to the customers and his own staff. He disparaged customers to other customers, treated his staff with an angry attitude and unkindly, and slammed things around in the cooking space. There were very few patrons in the restaurant and it took 30 minutes to get our chili dogs. We could see the already cooked hotdogs in their buns sitting on the counter for 10 minutes before the manager realized the chili had not been made and proceeded to get mad at his staff. We then watched as he angrily cooked the chili on the grill while slamming things around. At one point, the whole restaurant got smoked out and they did not open a door or window. It caused my friend and I to start coughing and still no attempt was made to air it out. The restaurant itself was dirty. I would never go back. I would never recommend this restaurant to anyone or go back there myself. read more

And the server just assumed we were all on one check because "we came together" and then got angry because we didn't want to pay that way! It was a late night and I got hungry. I was kinda tired of seafood and wanted a taco or burger. Looked on Yelp and this place wasn't far from where I was staying. Walked over and ordered the cheeseburger and fries. Service isn't excellent just some good southern conversation. Nothing over the top. The burgers are pre seasoned, saran wrapped and put in the fridge so you may be off put by the color. Also the cook was punching the bun on the grill with his fist. Hey I was hungry don't judge me. I used to love this place. Ate there all the time from 2017 until today. The staff has changed and the new folks don't wash their hands and don't wear food service gloves! We sat at the bar and watched the cook. He handled raw bacon then touched bread and other items he was placing on plates. After watching him for 10-15 minutes handling raw food and cooked with NO gloves and never washing his hands, we cancelled our order before he was able to start it and walked out. I will never eat there again. The state health department needs to get involved and watch this place closely. This is a wonderful locally charming place that will always get the job done. You're not going to come here expecting the most elaborate or fancily plated meal. One look at the Clover Grill and you should see the stirrings of the FQ's own Waffle House-style establishment. You don't mess with the cooks or the workers as any one of them could take you out, but you're going to get a filling meal and you're going to get exactly what you might expect. As one of the few non-reservation-required eating establishments open early on Mardi Gras morning, it was worth the 45-minute wait outside to get a meal that would fuel you all day. I can't complete this without a hearty compliment to the young lady bussing tables! She was so efficient, we did not even see her clear one of the plates!!!
