The prices honestly get 2 stars. The ambiance gets 3 starts. The food gets 5 stars. Technically the average of the three ratings follows to a 3.3333 but who is counting technicalities. We already know mountain grove plaza has terrible parking. Redlands city has grown and with that a lot more traffic to become upset about. There were also mosquitos or little bugs flying around. The entrance should have those air things that blow when the door opens to keep bugs out. Tables were also kind of dirty indoor and outdoor. Staff is limited and so the cleaning between rotation of customers using their sitting isn't happening because it is crowded indoors at all times (in a good way!). The boxes the food comes in is unnecessary. It's cute but very uncomfortable to eat out of; specially with a sandwich dripping juice. Each sauce is $.75 and while not needed they do elevate the sandwich. But if it's your first time you're probably going to want to try a few sauces and next thing you know there's a $2.5 charge on just sauces. Twenty dollars for a combo I'd say I'd go to a eureka burgers instead but they don't make them like they used to either. Anyways, whether you want to blame it on post-COVID, inflation, or just restaurants taking advantage ..... the chicken was fire!! It was juicy and full of flavor. Once I got past the spice on the mild Nashville sandwich it was great. Fries were also nice and crunchy. Drinks are limited and that's a shame but irrelevant also for my preference. Would I come back? Not for that price. I'm sure I can find other places with equal quality of chicken sandwiches at a few bucks cheaper with no crazy sauce charges. The food is made to order. Fresh and super hot. The staff goes above and beyond to make sure you not only enjoy your food but also have an amazing experience. We went 30 minutes before closing and they still welcomed us with amazing, giving attitudes. The food was so good. I got the tender meal and my husband got the wing meal. Don't sleep on the buttermilk biscuits! It's the best I've ever had. Super moist and buttery. I got some Nashville HOT chicken wings and they were perfectly spicy and juicy. We also ordered large waffle fries, in which these came out first and sat on a tray for over 8 minutes while they waited for the wings to come out. As we finally got our complete order we obviously checked the temp of our Fries which were not hot anymore more. We excited for the wing and we're disappointed. We ordered the Honey BBQ & Asian Soy. The BBQ flavor was just not there the sauce was soaked up by the bread. The wings were just undercooked. Not sure if they are baked or fried but could use an extra 2 to 3 minutes to get that crunch. Very solid chicken. Compared to other chicken spots in Redlands, Cluck shines by a lot. Previously, I had tried the original location in Irvine and was shocked/stoked that they created another location in Redlands. I definitely recommend the sandwich along with the tenders. Just beware of spice. If you do not handle spice well, then I would recommend going mild, but if you enjoy and handle spice well, go with your hearts desire. This place will not disappoint. The only knock I have on this place is the fries. Previously, they used to fill an entire chicken box of fries, but not, they have decreased the amount and only fill a bag of fries. To be honest, this was a more than enough meal, but when compared with what they used to give, it feels.... sad. Either way, I strongly recommend to go to this chicken spot and no other place. I'll be honest, it's quite pricey for a chicken sandwich. But I do think it's a better sandwich then it's competition (Dave's, Baba's hot chicken) Their burgers here are can-barely-fit-in-your-mouth kind of big. It's a messy bite, though it helps that it's always wrapped well. And there's a perfect ratio of crunchy chicken (customizable spice level), juicy slaw and tangy pickles. I'd say a good slaw makes or breaks my chicken sandwich and their slaw is really refreshing, and not soggy to help cut the grease from the chicken. I'd also recommend loaded fries for sharing, if you even have space left from the burger! The guy at the counter was super helpful as it was my first time. I ordered the light spicy Nashville hot chicken sandwich and it was just the right amount of spice (basically regular spicy). The sandwich was absolute perfection with a tender chicken fillet with an even ratio to the slaw and pickles. There are restaurants I've been to who were cheap on the slaw/pickles, so I appreciate Cluck Kitchen for making it the way it should be. The bacon potato salad was also super tasty and helped with the spice, though next time I would totally get a side of extra slaw instead. I love the national hot chicken sandwich at this place! When they say spicy, they mean spicy! And I love it! The breading on the chicken is the perfect amount and it's very crispy. Sometimes I just like to pick up a couple extra tenders and chop them up and put them on a salad. Parking can be a little bit tricky as it's in a busy shopping complex.
