Placed a large order for my son and his friends. When food finally arrived, everything was covered with the mashed potato gravy which leaked out, one of the sides was missing and they replaced one order of biscuits with some type of donut and charged me more for it as well! I didn't realize this until the driver left. I called to let them know what happened and they wanted to give me credit towards my next order instead of just deducting it from my credit card bill. I gave this a 3, which some of my friends might murder me for and consider this an act of treason because this place can be so tasty. Basically, you should never go here unless you're looking for drunk food after the bars. The wings are okay but what you want are their boneless chicken tenders. I wouldn't go any hotter than atomic sauce unless you're looking for trouble. One of our friends makes the mistake of ordering onion rings, cheese fries, and other items. This place is known for their chicken (Hence the name). Also be warned, it can do a number on your stomach the next day. Also, ignore the person that mentioned fried mushrooms. Sounds disgusting and I wouldn't recommend anything like that from this place. I've got a few good stories from their delivery service which I won't go into, but come about 2 am, they will get backed up with orders and it can take about an hour to get your food lukewarm. In my college chubby days, I was a huge fan of boneless wings, and have spent the last few years let down by their lack in NYC. During my brief stay in Morristown, I went nuts when I learned of the existence of Cluck-U. Plus, as a fan of spice, the sauce selection (see business photo) sealed the deal. I can't comment on the sit-in experience, since I've only gotten takeout or delivery, but can say seating is very limited and similar to a fast food place. The place looks decently clean, and you can see the kitchen so no concerns there. Not the best I've had, but the boneless wings here are a solid. Tenders of all white meat chicken that are battered, fried and dipped in sauce of choice. The chicken is slightly dry, and the batter sometimes falls off, but overall, still tastes good. I didn't The hottest sauce I got was "Traditional Death," and they don't mess around. I can tolerate more than anyone I know, but my mouth was on fire. Sadly, I swore to do it as an endurance test, but never got the chance to have the "911." As big a spice guy as I am, my favorite was the "Honey Hickory" - a good combo of sweet and savory that went really well with the blue cheese dipping sauce. Minus points for being one of the few wing places to not give any celery sticks. The fries are nothing to write home about. Skin on, spicy fries, that are somewhat soggy, but salty and potatoey. I'd say they're most similar to Wendy's. I agree with previous reviewers that service is pretty bad. The staff here seemed to always struggle with ringing up your order. And when I tried to use a coupon that I had gotten from a previous delivery, it turned into a several-minute ordeal, requiring the manager. When I got delivery, they forgot to give my extra sauce, but I wasn't going to fuss over $.50. That said, if you're a big fan of boneless wings, like I am, Cluck-U is a pretty sure bet. read more

In town for business. Visited this Cluck U Chicken restaurant on 4/25/18 around 9:30pm. I ordered a 3 piece fried Chicken on the overhead menu to go. To begin let's say the young man working the cash register taking orders is rude, distracted, and disrespectful. Second, my to go order was ready but apparently sat on the counter for quite some time without him or one of the staff letting me know it's my order and ready. I had to walk up after a while to ask about it. By this point I lost my appetite and just threw the food away. This review is focused on one thing delivery. I ordered online 2 times. Both times I checked the "call to confirm order box". Both times it was more than 15 minutes before I called to confirm. Both times the response was "45 minutes to an hour". First time was 1.5 hours to delivery. I almost forgot they were coming! 2nd time, I was bright enough to ask "from when" ( foolish to assume from time of order.) I was told from now. I cancelled, and likely will not order again. So, I like the wings, but muly tolerance for delivery of food maxes out at 45 minutes for something like this. If you are a think ahead person and order your wings 1.5 hours in advance, then disregard. The wings are pretty good. read more

I called the store and was told the delivery driver was on his way. Fine, no biggie. Call again at 12:47am because my food has still not arrived. I was met by a rude employee who told me the driver was on his way and she hung up on me Call multiple times between 1:45 and 2:00am, hung up on more than once. Yes, there may be drunk, loud people in your store, but that is no reason to let customer service fly out the window. 3 hours after I placed my order, and no sign of my food. I am told it is loud and they are busy. Lots of places are loud and busy and have no issues with delivery. I am very disappointed in this experience. When you are in bed with a migraine, going to a restaurant to pick up food isn't an option. i think this place goes by a different name than cluck u or university chicken. i wanna say cluckerbees or something like that. but these places will always be cluck u to me. well...we have a couple here in cali but its just a tad bit different. we only have 7 different levels of hotness, at this location, they had like an extra 6 or so with flavors like cajun or garlic....stuff like that. cali needs to bring that over cuz it was purdy tastey. another thing that was different was the order of their levels. they had mild, atomic, traditional, etc...but here atomic is the 3rd level. so i still got the 3rd level thinking it would be equivalant to our atomic. boy was i wrong. it was so WEAK. to me the traditional i had tasted like our traditional here in cali. i was a little sad. but i just asked if i could have a side of the cajun sauce and they gave me a lil cup full. they also have ribs!!!~ i know i dun go to university chicken here that much any more but i dun think we have ribs on our menu :0( i didnt try em so i dunno how they taste, but have 2 mention they have ribs. the actual sit down area was quite small and a lil crampy. but all in all.....besides confuzzling me with the many sauces to choose from....it was darn good. read more

I was eating in this restaurant and i ordered my food, which was very good! What happened next was one of the most absurd situations I've ever witness in the food service industry. I am in the hotel business and I know what happens and what you do behind the scenes but what I saw never be tolerated in any restaurant or service industry. As I was eating, another customer came in. He ordered his food and drink. The drink was a large or larger one. The customer spilled the drink by accident. He then reported it to the counter. I heard the worker say "are you f-ing kidding? We need to get these people sippy cups! This is the second one this week!" I turned around and the customer was mortified. The customer didn't say anything but sorry and wanted to know if he could help. The worker came out with a mop and bucket to clean it up. It looked like a manager or supervisor came out to help the worker. They were making comments the entire time they were cleaning it up and laughing about it. Keep in mind the customer is still waiting on his food at this time. This was totally unprofessional and out of line. In no way was this on purpose. The fact that the worker and the manager/supervisor were making jokes about this in front of anyone, let alone the person who did it, is deplorable. Very poor service - I ordered for delivery on a Saturday evening at 7:15pm and was given the expectation that food would be delivered in 45 minutes to 1 hour; I called at 8:30pm and was told the driver would be there in minutes. I called again at 9:10pm as was put on hold for over 5 minutes while "tried to locate the driver". I called again at 9:15pm to cancel the order and was very rudely hung up on. I order for delivery on purpose because the experience in person is even worse. I will make it a point to share this experience with everyone I know. If I can give a negative rating, I would. I have no idea how they stay in business. My wife and I ordered from this place for delivery online and not only did it take a long time to arrive (over 1hr), the delivery guy informed me that the CC that I had used to pay the order did not go through. So he was standing on my front steps telling me that my CC did not go through because of their ordering system and wanted me to pay the order in cash on the spot. He then proceeded to have me talk to his manager, who insisted that they called me twice. I did not get a phone call, definitely not twice. She kept insisting that she had called me twice, completely irritating me. Even before looking at the food, I was already upset. The fried chicken that was part of the order was all soggy and the fountain drink had spilled all over the plastic bag it was packed in. ABSOLUTELY UNACCEPTABLE!! I called fo delivery on Friday night at 12:30 am. I was told my delivery would come in 35 minutes. An hour and ten minutes later, the delivery driver called to tell me my order had arrived. I fell asleep and did not get the call. I called back an hour later (when they were still open) and the driver refused to redeliver the items that I payed for. I called back again the next day and they still refused to resend my order. The male who opened the store and who was answering the phone on Saturday, October 7 was very rude and started making fun of me because I fell asleep. I was trying to speak with this person to tell my issue and they mocked me. For a $25 order, I feel that this large corporation could have met me halfway to come up with a better solution than telling me no and making fun of me.
