    Crispy octopus
    Mark R.

It is as good as the reviews say it is. Went around 4:45 pm on a Wednesday to check out the happy hour. BOGO on cocktails (up to $15). Laura made an excellent Old Fashioned (well, 2 of them). Broke my "never order octopus outside of Spain" rule and got the crispy octopus with chorizo appetizer. As they say, rules are meant to be broken. It was outstanding. As good as any I've had in Spain. Next up, the waygu sliders. Also excellent. All around, super enjoyable place to have drinks and food. The ambience is first class. Feels very high-end. As a pending transplant to the Treasure Valley, I'm so excited to know there is this option for cocktails and dining.

Hand's down one of our favorite restaurants in the Treasure Valley. The entire experience was top tier. From service to food and everything in between. My husband and I dined at Coa Del Mar for our anniversary and we're already looking for a reason to come back. Here's a quick breakdown of our experience: * The ocean vibes are so fun. The detail they put into the designs are so cool from the octopus door handles to the jellyfish lights. * Everyone we encountered was incredibly friendly. Best service we've had in a while. * The food was top notch. My husband couldn't stop raving about the prime rib. He pretty much ate the entire thing and that's saying a lot. My macadamia halibut was delicious, I'm not usually a fan of coconut but the coconut rice helped elevate the dish. We probably could've gone without the tableside guac but that's okay. * The desserts were both pretty and delicious. We had the coconut creme brûlée (you can barely taste the coconut) and mud pie. With a side of my Portugal port wine, it doesn't get much better. We'll be back soon.

From start to the finish, this place was the perfect spot for my friends to get together. All the dishes were excellent perfect choice for the most finicky eaters. With beautiful ambience and excellent drink specials. It was not loud and perfect for conversations. Our server was great too. Lots to eat for the meat eaters, vegetarians and those who drink. They have a great selection of cocktails and wines that we all loved. Can't wait to come back and try the other dishes.

We wanted to take my daughter somewhere fun for her 21st. Coa Del Mar is in our area and perfect for her birthday dinner. We had a great experience the last time we were there for our company Christmas party. So I knew it was going to be amazing time for all of us for my daughter's birthday. Our reservation was for 7:30. We were sat shortly after we arrived. It was busy for a Tuesday night. Several large parties were going on and a lot of birthdays too. Menus and water was dropped off. Before we knew it, Gwen, our server greeted us and got our drinks started. We did want a "break it yourself" Ceasar salad as a starter so that was also turned in for us. The Ceasar salad was a good as I remembered. The salad was fresh and crisp. There was a generous amount of parmesan cheese. A huge piece of foccacia bread was placed on top of all that goodness. The best part was the parmesan bowl. It just adds such a crunchy element to the salad! So tasty. Dinner did take a minute to get prepared. There were two large parties that the kitchen was trying to smash out. No problem! We chilled and enjoyed our salad. Dinner did finally come out and man did everything look fantastic! My linguine fruitti de mare was beautifully plated. My daughter's seafood paella liked hearty and delicious. My husband's go to is the filet on the hot rock and as usual it look fabulous. The linguine was loaded with seafood! The lobster was charred and sweet. The clams and mussels were cleaned nicely and fresh. There were huge pieces of fish throughout the pasta dish. The tomatoe broth was rich in flavor and color. I appreciate that it wasn't overwhelming in basil as basil was described in the menu. I was surprised that there wasn't much heat to it since it mentioned spicy broth. I did get a side of chili flakes. Added some of it to my dish and it was perfection! My daughter's paella was delicious I had some of her rice. The bites I had were so flavorful, fluffy and had chunky pieces of chorizo. And the piece of filet my husband gave me was so tender and savory from the congac sauce. Gwen got my daughter a birthday treat! It was a big funnel cake topped with salted caramel ice cream. I love the firework type candle that they lit for my daughter. What a fun way to make a wish! I did have quite a few bites of the dessert despite of how full I was. The funnel cake was soft and sweet. The salted caramel ice cream was a great addition to the funnel cake. Each bite was yummy! I'm happy we got to come here to celebrate my daughter's special day. The venue is stunning as usual. Our server, Gwen did such an amazing job taking care of us. She was aware, attentive and kind. Food was amazing. I look forward to coming back and having another fabulous experience again.

    Fish tacos

Our first time at Coa Del Mar was excellent. We had the seafood paella, the Baja fish tacos, and the tableside guacamole, and every dish was super flavorful, balanced, and well seasoned. The paella was layered and bold, with seafood-forward flavor. The fish tacos were bright and crisp, with real heat and acidity instead of the watered down versions you find in places trying not to offend anyone. The guacamole was fresh, punchy, and well balanced. Service deserves praise as well. Our server was attentive without hovering and made sure we were well taken care of throughout the meal. The tableside guacamole was a standout not just for flavor, but for execution. The person preparing it seasoned it thoughtfully, had us taste it, and asked if we wanted any adjustments. No adjustments were needed. I saw a couple of low reviews claiming the food here is "too salty" or that everything "relies on salt," and honestly, I think that criticism misunderstands what's actually happening on the plate. Salt is being used exactly as it should be used, to amplify acid, spice, fat, and freshness. Nothing tasted heavy or one-dimensional. It was delicious. It's not under seasoned like so many local restaurants in the area. The food is actually delicious.

Happy cocktails. Can't go wrong with a cosmopolitan in an ice glass.

Wow! Excellent experience at Coa Del Mar, from entry to exit--and every minute in between. Warm greetings, attentive service (almost too much with waters refilled after a sip), delicious food, and happy hour cocktails. Top 10 restaurants in Eagle/Boise for sure.

The restaurant features a thoughtfully designed marine-themed decor. The food is visually appealing, with the starter and dessert tasting quite delicious. However, the lobster in the main course was overcooked.

This was the complimentary dessert that we got in celebration of our anniversary

We made reservations at the last min on line, they had an opening so we took it. The decor is lavish and the service is excellent. The food was spot on in taste and even though it was more than we expected to spend, it was worth every penny. The only thing that wasn't great was the fact that we paid $14 for bread and the bread was just ok. They were kind and have us a sparkle-tastic complementary dessert to celebrate our anniversary.

    Donuts and espresso

Wow! Amazing food, outstanding service, and a fun atmosphere! Food: 4.5/5. First of all, the happy hour is great! We came here to celebrate some recent accomplishments and ordered two glasses of champagne. Our waiter said since it was happy hour two glass were the same price as the bottle so we thought "why not!" I ordered the steak and lobster with a side of risotto. I thought the steak, lobster and mashed potatoes were outstanding! I was a little disappointed by the risotto which is the only reason I am giving the food 4.5. The risotto was a little dry and just didn't really taste like anything. My husband got the mahi mahi and lobster and it transported us back to Hawaii. I think I would order that next time it was so good. I will say that the lobster and mahi mahi was an odd pairing though and would like just the mahi mahi plated by itself. For dessert we had the espresso and donuts. My mouth is still watering thinking about that dessert and was the perfect way to end our meal. The drinks were the perfect sweetness and the donuts were the perfect. Service: 5/5. Our waiter Patrick was very charismatic and attentive. He informed us of the happy hour and made sure we knew the dessert specials of the day. We were seated quickly even though it was packed and our food arrived in good time. The GM also greeted us when he brought our champagne and was very pleasant. Atmosphere: 4.5/5. This place has a very fun vibe, amazing decor, and has a waterfront patio that fills quickly. We didn't have reservations so we sat in an area that had really small tables. My only complaint is that the tables were too small for our ginormous plates. Even having small square tables instead of circle I think could make a difference. I would definitely recommend making reservations even for a weekday. Overall, this is a great place for happy hour, date night, or a special occasion! I would not recommend taking kids. Make reservations before you go.

Fancy lighting in the dining room.

Thanksgiving buffet. Lots of salads, paella, carving station, desserts, etc. Beautiful facility, well thought out. Very good service crew. Dishes and utensils were quickly cleared for each trip to the line. Too many of the dishes were salty. The sauces that could be added to the items from the carving station were also salty. Overall, the meal was disappointing.

However, we had a double date planned and Kosta's was chosen for us. One of the best choices ever. The atmosphere is welcoming from the moment you walk in; friendly greeting within seconds of walking in, calming colors of blue and white adorn every wall with charming tablecloths on each table, and cute decor. Service was immediate with a carafe of water and a huge smile. I loved the vibe! Ordered a German Hefeweizen that came cold and frothy. Next came the Greek salad with the most juicy, crisp tomatoes, green peppers and cucumbers, then heavily sprinkled with feta cheese, a pinch of capers, and a side of the best Greek dressing I've ever tasted. I was originally taken aback that there was no lettuce, but real Greek salad doesn't have lettuce! I had no idea. Hubby and I shared the Broiler Mix from the appetizer menu so we could sample multiple items. The Broiler mix has 2 chicken skewers, 2 beef skewers, 2 Kefta patties, 2 chorizo, 2 pitas, fries, tomato wedges and a healthy dollop of tzatziki. The pita tasted homemade; it was soft, thick without being too think and didn't taste chalky. The skewers were exceptionally cooked...tender, flavorful pieces of chicken and beef. The kefta (lamb & beef) patties had a nice texture, which was enhanced with the herbaceous tzatziki sauce. The only disappointment was the chorizo as it was overcooked and dry. It was easy to overlook as everything else was a shining star. We would go back in a heartbeat....totally made me want to explore more Greek food there!

The tzatziki is AWESOME, definitely get some, and their sweet potato fries are perfect. But the lamb and beef meatball sub I got was meh for me, personally. I was hoping for at least some taste of beef but it was overwhelming lamb, to the point I wasn't really interested in eating it. I would go there again to try something else, just steer clear of the meatball sub if you don't absolutely LOVE lamb - if you do, I'm sure you'll love it.

I've been coming to Crave for a while now, this was probably my tenth plus visit and the food has consistently been really good. That's what keeps us coming back. Unfortunately, this last visit missed the mark. I made a reservation and was seated in the back room next to two private parties, rather than a booth or the main dining area. The room was loud and the spot was uncomfortable. And really, who wants to have dinner with their family wedged into a party room alongside two other parties? What really stung was watching a party who came in after us get seated in the party room and then moved to a different section, but when we asked to move, we were told it'd be a 20-30 minute wait. It's also a little odd to be awkwardly squeezed into a party room in the first place. That space should be for actual parties, not for packing in reservation guests to hit max capacity. Sometimes a short wait for the right table is worth far more than being seated immediately in an uncomfortable spot, I'd have happily waited. Here's the thing: between the data they're already collecting through Resy and a little plain common sense, this should be an easy fix. They can see who's a repeat guest, what reservations are booked, and how the floor is filling up. Use it, or at minimum, just pay attention to the room and seat people thoughtfully. It's not bad enough for one or two stars; the food and overall experience have earned more goodwill than that, and servers are always top notch. But better situational awareness and common send from their host staff would go a long way. A reservation should mean something, and a marketing tip, regulars notice this stuff. A big turn off after a stressful week, I probably won't be back. If looking for a flawless experience after a stressful week, I would find another place with a more competent host staff.
