Love supporting local food joints and that Cobra sets up at some of my favorite events in the city!

Was fortunate to try this place on a recent visit. If you dont like a funky dive bar with metal music you might not like this place. You're better off getting you food to go. The place itself wasn't very clean when we arrived. I respect a place that doesn't do any substitutions as it shows they're confident in their serving. The burger and fries I would say are in my top 5 ever. The drawback was everyone at the table mentioned the burger was too salty. I love salt but it was highly over salted. The fries were amazing with the vinegar added. What sucked was we all got tiny pieces, no long ones. Like the tiny pieces that fall into the bottom of the fryer. It was messy having to pick up tiny pieces of fries to dip in the delicious Cobra sauce. That aside it was still that good. You do however pay a premium which I feel is over priced for the quantity of meat in the burger and the amount of fries. If you like a good greasy burger n delicious fries def check this place out. read more

This was incredibly overpriced for an oversalted burger. Fries were ok but oil bled through bag by the time I got home. I ordered for pickup and the staff seemed very bothered that I was there and inhospitable. I wanted to like this since it was a local spot but I wouldn't go again. read more

Service is horrible. Bartender was rude. Food was meh. Overpriced and not worth it, rather eat at 5 guys.

Pretty good burger. Staff was friendly. Disappointing that you can only remove options from the burger but not add. No tea or water unless you purchase the Liquid Death water in a can. Then there is the music... WOW! Not my genre and the volume is insane. I guess it works but we won't return. Too bad because the burger is actually really good. read more

Came here because one of my brother's friends was very interested in coming. Got there right as they opened on Saturday at noon, which was a good choice because apparently they are pretty popular and there was soon a line out the door. Inside seating is minimal so if you want to dine in plan ahead. Overall I think it might have a little more hype than it is worth. I am a vegetarian so I got their vegan burger and it was pretty good, definitely a unique type of patty that it seems like they make in house, but a bit of a weird texture compared to other meat substitutes. My husband tried to get a cocktail but apparently they do not make cocktails... which is strange for a place with a bar. It is definitely a place that has a very one-of-a-kind feel, but almost like they are trying too hard to have that. Others in my group really enjoyed their (meat) burgers. They also don't do substitutions on their burgers so that is unfortunate. read more

I saw a shirt there that said "come hungry, leave greasy" and felt that it was pretty accurate (in a good way!). The burgers and fries were delicious and music appropriate for the theme they had going. Music might have been a tad loud for the kids, but they weren't complaining. Will be back for more. read more

Decent burger. Grossly over-priced. Ambience is weird, annoyingly loud (music). Five Guys is better and if you want to support a local burger joint, I'd recommend going to about 5 or 6 other places before this one. Aloof customer service. read more

Seating is first come, first served. Stopped by on a Sunday afternoon and there were plenty of tables available. We were informed before we ordered that it take about 20 minutes for our food to come out. Timing was spot on. Righteous amount of fries come with the burger (I recommend the cobra fries). Since they are smash burgers two patties are a must to get a good meat to bun ratio. I wish they would have had more sugar free/diet options for the beverage choices that day instead of just water but as people say "hydrate or die". read more

Would have been better if everyone working took like one less bong rip before clocking in. Finished order sat by the window for a solid 20 minutes while the person working the window very intently organized receipt copies instead of distributing burgers. Everyone just kinda shuffled around in there and seemed to have a different perception of time and space. I just really wanted my burgers but God or whoever must have wanted me to wait while I process one's existence. Also burgers were far tinier in "real life" than as portrayed on the internet. We'd heard about this restaurant, excited to try it, checked the latest hours on website, saw they were open until 9:00pm on Thur nite. Posting on the door confirmed the hours. Showed up to find chairs on top of tables as if closed. Workers surprised to see us and asked "how did you get in?" Ummm open door? We sheepishly slinked out, apologizing all the way (for what, I'm not sure why), feeling like intruders. Disappointed by the lack of regard for us customers and the shared chuckle between them, we left. Musta been a slow night, but we drove in from the west end just to try them out. Got takeout from here recently and was blown away with the burgers and fries. The burger was flavorful, well cooked, delicious, and juicy. The pickle flavored fries and ranch were plentiful and crispy. I don't think you can order by phone or web, I could be mistaken as I didn't place the order. My companions enjoyed their food so much that after we ate they went back again for more burgers and fries. Will definitely return. read more

Heard all the hype and story of this place, really wanted to like the food. We tried the cobra burger, garter snake veggie burger, pickled fries, and regular fries. The cobra burger and veggie burger were so mediocre, nothing standout. The cobra burger patties were thin and well done, nothing like a good juicy burger. The pickled fries were extremely tough and chewy. We asked and that is the way they are supposed to be. They gave us some regular fries which were good. read more

Tried the new brick & mortar restaurant in Churchill neighborhood, right near 8 1/2. Only doing a walk up window at the moment which had a line, but was moving pretty quickly! I got the baby butter burger which was pretty good. I would compare it to a Five Guys burger, but slightly more expensive (but support local, so hey). I did go out on a limb and try the Cobra fries which were the best part! They soak the potatoes in pickle juice before frying...delicious and unique!! read more

Hot tip: walk up and order...way faster than ordering online for pick up! The people who work there seem really sweet and are communicative about the wait time and everything. I have tried a few things: cobra burger, butter burger, the vegan nuggets. Out of those three, I would say my favorite was the Baby Butter Burger. I've ordered it twice now and am happy to have it in the neighborhood. Cobra was ok, and I wasn't really feeling the vegan nuggets which I am kinda bummed about. Took my family there today the girl at the front counter was a combination of weird(acting) and kind of unhelpful it was our first time. My wiffe asked about lettuce for our burgers it's was like a foreign object unavailable. Not impressed burgers where okay not great. As a 25yr Business owner and a decorated that front counter can make or break an experience. A Smile and being able to explain your menu without making people feel uncomfortable should be priority number one! Read I edited wierd to Acting weird just Bad customer service not wanting to be helpful (Mr Owner). And after looking at the reviews. As I expected the owner response is trying to sound intelligent but is still somewhat belittling it speaks volume why the service is uncomfortable. Not a solution. It explains our experience and the other customers concerns. If most of your bad reviews seem to be centered around customer service in a service oriented business. This was one of the best burgers that I've ever had! Everyone in our group of four said the same thing. I had the zMSG Burger with the sea salt and vinegar fries. Intried the salt and pepper fries and will have those next time. The atmosphere was very interesting with a heavy metal motif. The pricing was very fair. Normal greasy burger. Good amount of fries. You get what you get. Very much over priced but for a local business in a historic section of town it's to be expected. I ordered the single butter burger (nothing overly special) and the garter snake which was cut too thick and cold in the middle. My goal was to support the local business, but there are better options around. read more

I feel like everyone needs to just try this place. It's amazing. I can't seem to stop myself from coming here for a burger each week. The burgers are all absolutely delicious. I have tried the King Cobra and Big Baby Butter Burger (my personal favorite) and they are absolutely amazing. They have a special cobra sauce and you can pick from regular or Cobra fries (pickled fries ). They also do brunch burgers on the weekends. Along with delicious burgers you get amazing service... I think her name is Marge and she is the greatest! She's normally at the front window taking orders or handing you your online order. I totally recommend placing an online order early! The only other thing that has stopped me from going here more than I should is when they sell out online . Follow them on Instagram @cobrabruger for live updates, they normally post on there if online ordering is closed and they are also sold out so that can save you a trip! Ordered Big Baby and regular fries. Burger was swimming in yellow mustard. Fries would've been good but were incredibly over salted. Couldn't eat more than a third of them. Bar tender was nice. Restaurant is a bit... cold. Limited drink options. The music was a true turn off for me personally. I don't know enough about it to classify it beyond metal. Biggest downgrades due to the crazy amount of mustard, salt, and metal. You do you cobra - just not enjoyable for me. read more

If you are easily offended, picky and/or don't have a sense of humor this isn't the place for you. Quite possibly the best smash style burger I've ever had. Perfectly executed burger with crisp edges, super crispy shredduce and a structurally sound bun. Bar has a small curated selection of beer and liquor. The social media pages are also a source of daily entertainment unless your name is Chad or Karen. Keep rocking! read more
