Started off strong with the mango margarita - sweet, slightly tangy, and very mango-y. The got the Trio with salsa, guacamole, and Oaxaca fundido. Probably one of the best guacamoles I've ever had. I loved how all the ingredients were so finely chopped in the avocado. The fundido was savory, delicious with the chips. Enchilada - one mushroom and one birria - both tasted too and had distinct flavor profiles. I don't usually have mushrooms with Mexican food so this was a nice pairing for me, We ended with the the Churros that has the that crisp outer layer and perfectly sweet Bavarian cream filling. read more

Amazing service for an establishment trying to get back on their feet after their original restaurant suffered from a fire! I cannot express enough about how wonderful the whole staff was and how amazing the food was. They moved their kitchen to a food truck while they rebuild and have an inside dining area for people to enjoy their food. Our server angel, was absolutely awesome with the recommendations, insights to their handmade ingredients and just their story of their restaurant. Everything was delicious and my group agreed it was the best Mexican food they've had while living here! I would recommend this to anyone and everyone, especially if it helps this place get back to their full 100%! I can't wait to try more of their menu when they're back up and running fully, as for now only part of their menu is available to order from, but it gives me something to look forward to in the future! Found this place from Yelp Best Taco in US in 2022. Was delayed during flight and have enough time during transit at PHX, 2.5hrs. The place is located close to Airport. Off from Downtown. So we went around mid afternoon and tried the food. Ordered the Taco, one of each. The star is the steak taco. Soft, tender and tasty. The mango sauce on the shrimp is not bad too. The Barbacoa and Al Pastor and are just ok. They are renovating the restaurant so they set up a small house with food truck style outside few feet from there. Almost feel like home cooking eating at Tia Tio home. The Agua Fresca is also good and refreshing. Not sugar heavy. Right mixed. The only surprise part is the price. Almost $19 for 3 tacos, $7 for Agua Frescas. That's a fine dining price for Mexican Food. Also, they cannot serve alcohol at the temporary location. So eat like cafeteria style. Wow! Wow! Wow! It's been years since I have eaten at this place and I'm so glad that I decided to go back! The original building had a fire so they are set up down the street as a food truck with a separate place if you want to eat in. When you see it from the outside, you might say to yourself, maybe I should go someplace else. It doesn't look like much! However, once you get inside, the service is fabulous and the food is even better! The owner came over to greet me and to say hello and that was a nice touch. I got the Barbacoa green chili enchiladas, and they were out of this world! The meat was tender and just full of flavor! Since this is just a temporary place, they don't have any alcohol I believe. But who needs it when they're giving you flavor like this! A lot of times when you go to a Mexican restaurant, the flavor comes from the sauce and not necessarily the meat. This was just the opposite. The meat was amazing and the green chili sauce was a perfect compliment! I can't recommend this place enough! Absolutely, fantastic, establishment. The service was TOP NOTCH, their salsa is some of the best salsa I've ever had, and the food was better than any local Mexican restaurant I've ever been to. Altogether, my party ordered one of each of their tacos, the enchiladas, the green chili appetizer, and the churros for dessert. My steak and barbacoa tacos were PHENOMENAL, so good that after they hit the table I didn't even hesitate to dig in and only after it was all gone did I realize I didn't take a single picture!! I would HIGHLY recommend trying it out if you are visiting, and if you live around here make sure to bring a huge party and try one of everything!! Hands down, best tacos I've had in Phoenix!!! I got 2 steak tacos and 1 pastor. The pastor was a solid 8/10, but the steak...easily a 10/10. The meat was charred perfectly and they use Gorgonzola cheese, which is such a great addition. Crispy onions and peppers. Cannot wait to show my kids this place. This place was highly recommend through Yelp. So my Yelp Friend Michelle and I decided to try it. Parking was difficult. There lot is small and there is a neighborhood where people are parking in. Once parked you go inside and it's a bit small. We were sat at a table with two seats next to the restroom. Michelle had called to make and rsvp and this is where they sat us. There food was mediocre and isn't somewhere I would say has the best Mexican food. The tortillas are made fresh which was good but everything else was ok. With as high of a rating as Cocina Madrigal has, I knew I had to check them out. From the outside it doesn't look like much but it's the food and service that makes it all worth it. My friend and I came for lunch after a day of hiking and enjoyed the weather on the outdoor patio. It's easy to judge right off the bat by the chips & salsa and they passed the test. Just the right amount of spicy and flavor. For an entree I had one mushroom enchilada and one barbacoa. I actually ended up liking the mushroom the best. It was super flavorful & unique. Excellent!! on my flight and I checked options. Cucina Madrigal pop to the top as one of Yelp top 100 in the United States so I decided to give it a shot. The food is excellent and well worth five stars. The guacamole was one of the best I've had in my entire life fully tasting of avocado with a slight slight heat and background onion. The chips were crispy and very fresh. I also enjoyed the mix and match beef and mushroom enchiladas. The mushroom enchilada definitely lived up to the hype. I am pretty far off the vegan or vegetarian scene and was hesitant to add the mix and match mushroom, but I was psyched that I did. It was off the hook. It definitely tasted of nice fresh mushrooms. The beef enchilada was also spectacular. It was accompanied by black beans and rice, which were perfect. I split an order of the street corn, which was also excellent. read more

We got the Al Pastor taco marinated pork with roasted pineapple, pickled red onion, cilantro and Sonoran salsa, Oaxaca Shrimp taco mango coconut cabbage slaw and avocado cream taco and Beef Tenderloin Steak Toco pomegranate marinade, chipotle.
