I have to say this was one of the best hamburgers I've ever had in my life. No joke! The patties were seared perfectly. The bun was toasted beautifully, and the meat was seasoned very well. The overall sandwich came together in a spectacular. Possibly one of the best hamburgers I've ever had. The restaurant itself is pretty minimal, but offered comfortable seating. Bonus points for playing chill music in the background at a reasonable volume. Atmosphere was casual. A couple seats out front too of you prefer a little more action. Looks like the do some beer options, though it liked like they may have had a couple taps out. My son doesn't like spicy, so we had them make another one without (took only a few minutes and we brought the other one home). It was delicious and you can definitely taste the nutmeg. We're happy we have another order! Everything was amazing. The portions were plenty. We didn't even have room for dessert and I kind of wanted that olive oil cake! Can't wait to come back.

This was my second time visiting the restaurant. First time was busy but left feeling underwhelmed by the experience. One more time I thought. There is something off with the staff, fake friendly? This is a new business, enthusiasm? Similar to my first visit. I hate to be a stickler but the approach to fountain drinks is way off, single size small. I ask about other sizes, they said free refills. This is fine but when your 2/3 through the meal and you need to go over and ask for a refill? When I ask for a refill the person behind the counter made an odd gesture, then completed the refill. Who would want to experience this when they're busy. It's like a restaurant makeover TV Show where they're improving profits on the size and access to fountain sodas, just cheap. Burger was ok, fries were salted on the heavy side. In all, I'd recommend they correct engagement, and the fountain drink thing is a horrible business idea. $23 dollars for a burger, fries and small drink. Food was excellent at cock robin. Skip the chicken sandwich, just get a bucket of chicken. Plenty of food for the two of us in just the single bucket. We thought the Brusselsprouts were great & the Mac n cheese too. Not sure why this place has such low review score, probably because they don't have a yelp business account so yelp highlights the negative to try to extort small businesses. We both got the bacon cheeseburger, one with fries. & mine with onion rings. The onion rings were the best I ever had. I just loved them. My hubby loved his fries said they were nice & crispy. Our burgers were so juicy, and flavorful. The bacon was real bacon and wasn't skimpy on our burgers. But, the big hit was the buns! They didn't fall apart like most burger places. These tasted fresh baked like from a bakery. The prices were very reasonable. Next time we will try their shakes made with real ice cream. And yes , there definitely will Be a next time. Yummy!

Kids milkshakes come with a gummy burger candy treat. My only gripe is they don't have Heinz. They have Monarch Ketchup in their condiment caddies. (Gross. Minus half star) There's only a little seating inside, but they have a few tables outside as well. The theme is classic car/diner style. Service was friendly. Just order at the window then pick up you food when it's ready.

I ordered my usual Jaymee Sirewich sandwich$14.41 and my husband got a Nacho Girl $16.61 Johnny asked us if we wanted any chips which were apparently FREE during Happy Hour, which I'd never heard of here before. I grabbed a bag of Sour Cream n Onion. They seemed really short handed, and completely out of sorts. The sandwiches took about 10 mins for them to make. My sandwich was just ok, chicken had gristle, & the skin of the sliced pickles were actually tough, and way too much sauce on the sandwich. My husband enjoyed his sandwich.

Simmons Diner is located in a great spot for them - near the high traffic intersection of Mission and Hwy 12. The diner is cozy, with local original art. It is the same great menu, and they serve brunch/breakfast late. Overall the menu is wide, and they nail the classics. I also feel the pricing is very fair for the quality of the food - a rare thing these days! If you are in the area - or willing to travel a little for some exceedingly well executed diner/cafe food - they should be at the top of the list!

The breakfast sandwich and country potatoes were excellent as were the huevos rancheros with chorizo. I can see why it is so popular. Restroom was also nice and clean and well maintained.
