Boy I think about it every night and day, im addicted and I just can't get enough... - me to my boyfriend everyday because I SERIOUSLY can not get enough of the omelette chicken katsu curry!! The service is always amazing. No complaints here. I'm always in and out in less than an hour (maybe because I literally inhale the food). No, but seriously, amazing food. Amazing vibes. Maybe one day I'll manage to control myself and take a picture of the food before I get some bites in!

After years away, we revisited Coco Ichibanya in Koreatown, and honestly, it exceeded our expectations. For a chain, we'd give it a solid 4 out of 5. We ordered the chicken cutlet omelet, beef omelet with cream, and clam curry. Each dish had a hearty portion-tender meats, rich curry flavor, and comforting warmth. My husband's chicken cutlet was juicy, and my beef omelet was delicious with the added cream. Even my mother-in-law enjoyed her clam curry. We know this location has mixed reviews-some mention inconsistent portioning or service-but our experience was very positive. We were seated quickly, and while one server was more proactive with water refills than another, overall service was friendly and efficient. The main caution is parking. It's in a Koreatown plaza near other businesses. We walked from a nearby house, but we've seen reviews of people getting ticketed after parking in the wrong lot. Be careful if you drive! Despite that, the taste, portion, and value-around $15 per dish-made this a great visit. We'd gladly return for another cozy curry meal!

When you go to Coco Ichibanya, you know what you're getting: high quality and tasty Japanese curry. I've been before but this refresher reminded me just why it's so renown. If you're into curry, this is a must! The food is a 5/5 but I must deduct a star due to the service. The parking situation in K town is always a mess, and while they do have a parking lot they validate, the server was not helpful in the least on where the lot is and where I should go. Other than a less than straightforward parking situation, come for the fantastic curry and get it spicy!

Ate here yesterday with my cousin and bf. It was mine and my bfs first time and I can say that the curry is sooooo good! It was honestly one of the best curry's I've had! I ordered the thinly sliced beef with level 1 curry with rice and fries. The others ordered other chicken cutlets, pork cutlets, and all that. The portions were pretty good as well! They all enjoyed their food! I definitely would come back again! The fries were okay, it wasn't the best but everything else was good!

Really appreciate that they open on Xmas! Food wise decent, I chose level 5 and it is mildly spicy, not trying to challenge myself as a tourist. Pork chop was pretty crispy. Very limited menu though, almost like that Monty Python sketch, we have spam! Spam with potatoes! And spam! A bit pricey too considering it's just a rice dish (because of the tip but on Xmas day well worth it), parking also terrible (everything in the area in general ).

My family and I enjoyed our experience here. We're still on a high from our trip to Japan at the beginning of the year, so this place felt nostalgic and we enjoyed the vibes. The service was friendly and helpful. My Youngest is a huge curry fan and he loved the food. If you like curry, this franchise is a must-try and this location is a solid option. I had the fried chicken salad and it was delicious but I went to town with the Sesame dressing they include with it. I'm addicted to that flavor. Their garlic fries are also solidly good and perfect for the price point. Try their Curry Udon, also pretty delicious. Recommend.

SO! GOOD!! This was my first time trying Japanese curry and Coco Ichibanya set the bar high for me. Everything about my dish was fulfilling, comforting and had me itching to go back. I really appreciate that there are some vegetarian options here, so the menu can be enjoyed by many people! Vegetable curry -- 10/10. No notes, no complaints. Just pure comfort on a plate. The veggies were plentiful and the sauce perfectly blanketed them and the rice. The curry was soooo delectable and rich. I can't wait to get it again! Croquettes -- 10/10. Perfectly crispy with a nice crunch, but without being oily. It paired well with the curry.

My love of Coco Ichibanya came when I was 21 years old. I tried it in Yokosuka Japan. I was so excited when I learned the same authentic curry joint was in LA. I believe there's one in Hawaii as well! This is my first time trying this location. I'd usually go to the other location in Los Angeles. Parking parking parking here is RUTHLESS! I had to park a block up and walk. Be sure to put your coins in the meter. The curry is good but not get towed or ticketed good lol. Be aware of the parking! I got the chicken cutlet with cheese in my curry, the staff was pretty helpful. I had a hard time using my tap to pay. The waitress came to help me took my order manually. The restaurant was very clean! Music was playing not too loud, it was perfect to sit and have a conversation without the music being overly bearing. the drive back to the hospital was 20 mins away. The food was hot and the cutlet still had that crunch.

This is my favorite curry and chicken spot and when I was in Japan- I went to almost 10-15 of them. Much to my excitement, after coming back to the states I realized that there are quite a few locations here in the US. Mainly in California though. The next time I was traveling and was in Cali I made sure to swing by K-town to re-experience the magic. Highly recommend anyone who likes simple food done right (especially for my fellow spice lovers out there).

I've been here often and the curry never disappoints. Love the unlimited side dish they have to eat with the curry. Their new Yakiniku curry was bomb!

Coco Ichibanya is my favorite place to go for katsu curry! The portion size is perfectly filling and I love the way they fry their pork cutlet! You can add cheese on but to be honest, unless you are super into gooey curry, I'd stick to the normal. A cool part about this place is you can add or take off rice before you order! Reduces waste and can save you a couple cents. If you are coming here, note you can park in the parking garage right next to the place and get validated at Coco!

Service/Ambiance: Very cute, popular place to go for CURRY! I will say though they took so long to get water :( Food: basically curry with a lot sorts of food lol! And SPICE LEVEL!!

From omurice and ramen to curry katsu and much more. With so many choices, sometimes it can be a little overwhelming to decide what to order. This time, I kept it simple and went with the shrimp omelet over pork fried rice topped with gravy. It was comforting, satisfying, and exactly what I was in the mood for. Our friends ordered ramen and an oyakodon, and everyone seemed happy with their meals. Kouraku also serves alcohol, making it an easy spot for a casual dinner with friends. It had a deep and robust flavor. I don't think I've had that flavor of curry anywhere else but it was deeply heartwarming and satisfying. I really did enjoy this dish a lot. However, the pork cutlet isn't wasn't the best cutlet I've had. I would put it in the middle range of tonkatsus out there. While good, it didn't have the crisp flakiness you'd find in a specialty restaurant that specializes in just tonkatsu. However, it is still good. Next up was the omelette with gravy with fried rice that had both shrimp and pork. I feel the egg of the omelette was well made. It had that texture and consistency you would really want from an omelette of that nature. The pork and shrimp fried rice tasted a little light in the seasoning and flavor, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. The gravy was also lighter than a heavy gravy as well. When the food came out, I thought the meal would be deeply heavy due to the quantity and the gravy, but it still felt a bit light and manageable, which was kind of outside of my expectations, so that was pretty interesting. I do like the chicken soup this comes with. It has a nice flavorful broth where you could tell it was made well too. The service here is pretty good and attentive. The ambiance is nice but pretty busy. Also, if you come on the weekend, expect to wait a bit because a lot of people do want to eat here and the line can become a bit backed up.

Recently, it came back to mind, so I looked it up and found out that the Little Tokyo location had permanently closed. After doing a little more research, I discovered that they had relocated to DTLA. I had been craving a Hamburg steak lately, which was one of the main reasons I decided to visit. My mom ordered the Sukiyaki, and I ordered the Hamburg steak. We shared both dishes, and unfortunately, the Sukiyaki was unbelievably salty. It tasted as if someone had poured an entire bottle of soy sauce into it. Even when eaten together with the rice that came with it, it was still overwhelmingly salty. The beef was also very tough, which made the dish even more disappointing. As for the Hamburg steak, the portion size was extremely small. On the positive side, it came with a generous serving of rice, a salad, and miso soup. The Hamburg steak itself tasted good, but it was severely overcooked and heavily charred, which was a huge disappointment. Until recently, I wasn't particularly focused on my health, but both of my parents have been dealing with health issues, and seeing that has made me much more health-conscious. I've been trying to avoid burnt foods and charred meats whenever possible. I've also cut out ham, sausages, sugary juices, and sodas. Because of that, I was especially disappointed to see my Hamburg steak burned so badly that parts of it were almost black. The restroom required walking down a very long flight of stairs. While it was spacious and clean, it had a somewhat eerie atmosphere, probably because it was located in the basement. There were only stairs and no obvious alternative access, which made me wonder how customers with disabilities would be able to reach the restroom. The service was very friendly and welcoming. However, between the disappointing food, the inconvenient parking situation (street parking only--fortunately, thanks to my usual incredible parking luck, I managed to find the one available parking space), and the difficulty of accessing the restroom, I don't think I'll be returning. Overall, I was especially disappointed by the food, and for that reason, I probably won't be visiting again. But, I gave the tip 20%. Cuz, the service was friendly.
