We really enjoyed our stay. It was good for the price. It was clean and staff was pleasant. The only complaint was our mini fridge did not work which wasn't a big deal because we had two adjoining rooms with another fridge. Please do not come here unless you have too. I just check in today 9/11, and I've already contemplated about leaving multiple times. They had to change our room minutes from walking in because there were giant bugs (look at the pictures) it was absolutely filthy !!!!!! The blankets were dirty, the floors were dirty, the bathroom had mold. They moved us to our second room. (I had a huge mental breakdown for an hour) I hate bugs!!!!!! Our toilet wouldn't flush and over flowed. It was still filthy but I haven't seen a bug, (yet). I was really looking forward to this trip and all I can do is count the hours and days until I'm home in jersey again. Cons...Stayed last night. When I first walked in the room, it smelled like dirty old gym socks. Then I looked at the vent in the bathroom and it had an inch of dirt on all sides as if the vents had NEVER been cleaned. Motel style halls, not a huge sense of security. Walls are thin. Pros...The water park was really cool and so was the arcade and tiki bar by the pool but it was so cold, probably why it was on Groupon for $60 a weeknight. In a good location, the place was huge and had a good beer selection. The best was the people such as the lady giving out life vests yesterday afternoon, and the bartender was friendly too. Best part was the nice hot shower, and it didn't take long to heat up. Smell and vent are the main reason for 2/5 stars. read more

We booked this place because we have young children that love the water. I guess we didn't read any reviews before coming. The area where it is located is not the best. Rundown stores and restaurants. It is near to Universal studios. We stayed in the center building which had 2 queen beds. The elevator and hallways have moldy odor. The room was spacious. It had a mini refrigerator. Not many outlets. The other rooms were motel style with entrance from outside. We went to the waterpark which has both covered area and outside area. The outside has the big slides. Which they alternated having some close while other open. Not sure why. They were fun. Then a center pool with a slide that was not operating when we were there. The pool water was dirty. Hair was floating and water wasn't clean if you look with goggles. Then the other area for the younger children had slides and fountains. This area is covered. They have a tiki bar. Two restaurants but we didn't eat there. The towels went quickly. They would refill ever 30 min. Not to sound like a snob but the people staying here was low class. I seen more skin and tattoos than I would have liked. It look as if you can book birthday parties here. They have a party room. Also a store with a bunch of crap they are selling. Not very organized. The have a arcade but we did not use. Also regular pools in other areas of the hotel with jacuzzi. I just didn't feel this place was clean and didn't want my family staying there therefore we cancelled our stay and booked elsewhere. They didn't give any problem to cancel. read more

Only stayed overnight in 2014 but I really enjoyed the Waterpark here. There was something for everyone and the hours were pretty good too. This is a way to get more bang for your buck like a buy1 get1 free because you pay for the hotel and get to use the Waterpark instead of paying the extra money for Wet N Wild. If you are are a die-hard Waterpark person then it will seem too small for you, but for most of us it definitely is good enough. I also liked that there was a big arcade on site too. I would recommend you eat off-site though. I was majorly disappointed with their "Pizza Hit" which was like a knock-off Pizza Hut. The hotel is great for families who love the water, we almost cancelled because of the negative reviews but glad we didn't. It is in a central location and the front desk was amazing! The only downsides were: -Front pool bar wasn't open -when the water park closed the front pool got packed Also something I can't knock the hotel for was the odor of marijuana. DAY 1: We arrived last night and we had a blast at the resort. Me, my boyfriend, and child stayed in the water until t closed. Not really thrilled by the appearance of the room. It just looks like they need to do a makeover so it looks more new and fresh. I was trying to do a check-in on Yelp and saw all the reviews about the bed bugs, roaches, and robberies of cars in the parking lot. The breakfast buffet was simply okay. If it wasn't for our entire family of 16+ people staying there for a 3rd birthday, I would've checked out seconds after seeing the first room. Moldy smell, dust and dirt in the air unit that barely got cold and headboards that were falling apart. Only to change rooms and end up killing two roaches in that room, plus weird stains on the pillows and blankets. And above all, 5 out of 10 kids threw up and got rashes from the water park. Probably due to the amount of chemicals they're putting in it to keep it "clean". This place is dated and disgusting to say the least. Believe all the terrible pictures you see. Stayed here in the beginning of June of 2020. When we saw the pictures online uploaded by the company it seemed great! The room, water park and everything. HOWEVER, as soon as we got into our room.... the AC unit did not work, it had a musty smell to the room. (We called and they fixed it) then the smoke detector was hanging out about to fall off the freakin wall. (Not too bad) but when I looked at our bed.... there was mold on the sheets..... we did not even want to get on the bed at all. I had to call so they could give me new sheets. And again, the sheets had mold on it also. I brought my own sheets anyways but on the hotel part, it's just so unclean. Specially in a time like this. Anyways. Walking around the hotel/ water park area. There is no guideline to social distancing, no mask required... it was just like they don't believe in corona. Not to mention, there were teenagers everywhere and we could smell the weed from the rooms. We stayed for 2 nights but we were out for one. The other we checked out the water park they have. The only reasons I give Coco Key three stars are a) the staff are wonderful, and b) the water park makes this a great place to visit with kids. It's got a restaurant and arcade, and they really care that the guests have a good time. And at first blush, it's a good value. But CoCo Key will disappoint you if you're over the age of fifteen. The air conditioning in the rooms is woeful, and I got to try two rooms because the first room reminded me of staying in a shady hotel in Deland. The rooms have a tiny fridge that will freeze your food whether you want to or not, but no microwave. The television has no channel guide, and the WiFi drops ... a lot. So to recap: great value, great staff, great amenities for a day or weekend, weak room accommodations, and noisy as possible. Not returning. read more

First off, if I could give this no stars I would. We decided to stay at this hotel March 3 to March 7, 2022, as this was for my son's high school band performance at Universal Studios. It was nothing but a nightmare from day one. The rooms were not cleaned, only upon request(what hotel does that!!) I can not believe that Universal has it's name tied to a property like this. On the last day we were there before checking out on Monday, my daughter asked if our room was clean, as it was. She took me into her room and she had 2 dbl beds for her and her best friend. It turns out that only my daughters bed was made not her friends. The maid service never cleaned the end tables. It was a total disgrace. If you are planning to spend a lot of time in the hotel room this is not the place for you. The hotel room is about 2.5 stars; extremely small refrigerator and no microwave. The towels are hard but they do give you a set of four which is standard. The stoppers (things) in the sink and bath tub were broken and the shower head was filled with so much soap scrub that it was brown not silver. Due to the hair in the bathroom when we checked it, I doubt they thoroughly clean...they probably just wipe things down. I went to the store and got some bathroom cleaner so I could clean the bathroom and feel comfortable with my 4 and 2 year old going in there. My kids love the pool...of course! It is the most impressive thing here. The pool water smells like old chlorine...but my kiddies had a blast. Check out the pool hours because with the pool opening at 11:00am and check out being 11:00am. You have to stay longer than a day. The arcade was very nice. Pool tables and games for little ones and older kids. Their set up is similar to Chuck-e-Cheese with the reloadable card. $5.00 is 30 credits and the average game is about 5 credits. The breakfast buffet ended up being the same about as McDonalds breakfast because the prices are extremely high at the restaurants here. The buffet breakfast was $12.95 for adults and $4.95 for children 2 and over. It was worth it... The employees are AMAZING!! Either they have a great hiring manager or the employees are being paid well. They all have gone the extra mile accommodating our needs! For example, the was a wire coming out of the air condition and with my kids in the room that's not something I could ignore. I called down and in less than 5 minutes someone came to fix it. My wife and I came to the Coco Key Hotel and it want or favorite place to stay in Orlando, but it has its perks, especially if you have kids! On Friday nights, they have a movie night in the pool for the kids, when we stayed here they played a movie we love, Jumanji! All the kids in the pool we're having a blast, and all the parents looked relaxed in their chairs. There are 2 pools, one for little kids, and then a bigger pool, there are also a lot of water slides, which is always fun. There is a bar and restaurant outside by the bigger pool, so you can have something to eat when you get hungry. The rooms aren't very well lit and the channel selection on the tv is not very extensive. The hotel has shuttles to Universal that are free! You can also take a shuttle to Disney, but it's $18 per person, but the $18 is round trip. read more

This is the perfect budget friendly resort. It has the perfect amount of slides for a day filled with fun. It's great for adults and kids of all ages. We didn't stay at the resort nor did we try any of the food, only enjoyed the water park. I did notice the smell of alot of chlorine in the pool and my arms seemed to smell funny when I got out of the kiddy pool but other than that it was ok.... It wasn't alot of ppl when we went which was on a Tuesday. We got there as soon as it opened. I purchased my tickets off of Groupon because they had an extra discount that I could apply to get my cost lower. Checked in 12/26/23 for daughter's birthday celebrationn, check in process was smooth. The problem began as soon as we reached to our 1'st room, so room #1 was not cleaned at all, room #2 we were chasing roaches, room #3 air conditioner was broken we slept in sweat the entire 2 night stay not to mention the rooms smelled like mildew. I tried my best to not make spectacle out of the situation but i couldn't hold my self back anymore. Management first offered me $50 off of the stay wich really only covered parking , then as i pushed back on that and demanded more they eventually comped my first night. In my opinion my entire stay should have been free as an ultimate apology. 3 room changes on 3 different floors and me one to tote my family of 5 luggage back and forth so i dont interrupt their fun is exhausting and unpleasant. More could've been done on thier part but the main priority is money not the guest. Definitely will not be returning. This is the sole purpose why i stay in Marriott hotels. I really wanted to like this hotel. I stayed here with my kids and I had the worst experience ever. Let me start by saying that the water park and the arcade was the only thing we enjoyed. They gave me the room on top of the smoking section and all the smoke went inside my room. Everything smelled like smoke. I was staying there with small kids. Arrived on Monday at midnight and our room was not ready, so they gave us an upgraded pool front Room, room 4111. Because of that, they gave us free breakfast for family of 4, 3 free drinks and 10% off anything we bought at the hotel. We were excited!!! A 15 minute wait and we got all that!!! We are now in the room door and we had to scan the card at the door about 4 to 5 times before the door opened. We experienced that every time we had to use that card thru our stay. As soon as we were able to get in the room we noticed the overall room was not clean, everything is old, carpets were dark and you could tell it's been a while since that carpet have been shampooed, you could smell the humidity in the room, toilet was clogged, bathroom was not dirty, it was filthy, dark shower walls as if it needed scrubbing and our safe was also locked. Called the front desk to deal with the toilet and safe problem, they took care of that. Could not notice much more at that time. Woke up next day and bathroom clogged again, at that point I asked the employee to leave the plunger in the room. Super disappointed as I do not have to deal with plungers at home. A breaker that controlled half of the room tripped, I called room service again and asked them to fix it as it affected the fridge and we had food that needed cooling. Do I have to say that when we returned to the room that night the problem was still there and all food went to waste? The employees were really nice and trying to accommodate the situation gave us a $75 credit. Going back to my morning, still with high hopes, walked out of the room and noticed all the hall floors and walls were dirty, it was gross. I wish I had a picture of that. Walked in to the all you can eat breakfast and the breakfast was not good, it was not terrible, but not good. To put the cherry on top of my cake, the air conditioner at the restaurant (that it really looked more like a salon) was not working, they had a fan running. We are talking about summer time at 95 degrees. When I asked an employee she said air conditioning has been out for over a month. So I was having my breakfast sweating like a dog. Let's talk about the water park. The lifeguards are stellar, after all I have been thru I was really surprised with how on point, on target they were, the slides were great, water was A Ok! However the stairs to go up one of the slides had mold all the way, the floors of the entire park were filthy! Tons of cleaning needed. That made me wonder how clean that water was... We then walked to the arcade, hot like heck!!! My kids still wanted to play, so we spent some time in the arcade. Prices were not loading to the card and some machines were down. We spent most of our days on Orlando's theme Parks so not much time in the "hotel" probably better to call it a Motel. Early mornings out, late nights back. We arrived on a Monday at midnight and checked out on Saturday. Saturday morning, bright and early time to check out, as soon as I open my eyes there is a roach looking at me. There she is at the ceiling, waving her antennas at us that was disgusting AND that... was our queue, we packed as soon as we could to get out of that hotel. Before even putting on the wrist bands my husband and I along with my daughters walked around the premises. Not even 10ft away feet away from our room it smelled of weed. The entire place felt muggy. Only fresh food was the waffles you.Only good thing about it was the water park that had a cover from the sun. We went for Disney and we honestly stayed at Disney longer just so we didn't have to go back to the dirty and nasty hotel. The locker rooms were all clogged and had poop stains all over it. This place was just meh. My husband wanted so badly to go. The resort is cool but they're under staffed so sections are closed off at all times. They rotate though opening sections. At no point can you enjoy the whole park. The arcade is cute and fun, I wish we could have tried out the restaurant but either being understaffed or covid caused that to not be open. The hotel room it's self sucked. The bed and pillows were awful it's like sleeping on a card board box. And if you get rained on and can't enjoy the water park they flat out refuse refunds. The hotel was fine. The room fit a family of 5 nicely. The waterpark is designed for younger kids, but my tween and teens had a good time. If you have older kids, maybe keep the visit shorter. We'd return if we had younger kids, but I think ours are just too old to find it enjoyable. Note- Originally, I gave them a poor review due to billing issues. I later found it wasn't fully their fault as we purchased our stay through Priceline and ended up being billed by both Priceline and the hotel. Apparently, we should have only paid at the hotel. The problem is that getting assistance with the billing issue was incredibly difficult from both ends. The Coco Key staff was rude and dismissive when I called, and offered no explanation for the charge. I was not rude, so the response was inappropriate. Chunks of long hair in the pool, yellow hot tub water, tv broken and had to be replaced in room, dresser drawers roll out by themselves ( really dangerous for a 2 year old) black mold in shower. No towels offered at hotel pool. Only 2 devices are allowed WiFi connection (which is terrible anyways). Bathtub drain broken, sink clogged, toilet that you have to hold the Handel down just to flush. The only positive is the water park (which the highly oversell and is super crowded). read more

Don't be fooled by the pictures they use to advertise this resort ! Extremely disgusted in terms of cleanliness and service. They seem to be severely under-staffed . The room has a pungent odor (at their most recent tower rooms); the hallway is full of dirt which was vacuumed after 3 days. Room refills are not done and had to call reception (it was 48 hrs almost before they answered my call) to get cups re-filled in the room. Room was not made on one of the days. This place was terrible. Half of the water slides were closed off. They sell tickets to the water park only, so it was always packed with people. The air in the room wouldn't go below 70, and I'm pretty sure it was way hotter than that. We had to take our own trash out every day, and they only had those tiny trash cans that normally go in a bathroom. We did the family room, thinking it would be bigger. But it was just 2 rooms that were adjoining to each other. The price for the family room was about $700 more than 2 separate rooms, but that's all it was. The last night we were there, we didn't have TV or internet for a couple hours. When we went down to talk to them, they told us to come back the next day. First off I want to say these reviews made me paranoid!! I booked through an airplane as a package deal: flight, hotel & car. Great deal! I got onto Yelp and read the reviews on Coco Key & almost cried. I kept thinking omg how do I change my hotel now, I'm deathly afraid of bugs especially roaches! I decided I would check the room throughly when we got there & if it was bad I'd call the airline. We got to the hotel and was greeted almost immediately by the staff. We headed to the counter and Brianna was there to help us check in. She was great! (we had her at check out too!) She explained everything to us, told us their was a free movie that evening & told us what pool closes the latest etc. I appreciated all the info. I was still so nervous about the room but we headed there. I walk in & it looks very nice. I check the beds/sheets for bed bugs, mites --no sign. I then check the floors, under furniture, walls, ceiling, the bathrooms, fridge, in the furniture, pretty much everywhere...these reviews on here had me paranoid so I mean I checked it all. I didn't see any bugs or residue of any! I don't know if they just sprayed or I got a good room (Bldg 1) but there wasn't anything. I still wasn't taking any chances and made sure to keep our belongings together up on the table. We stayed for 3 nights & never once saw a bug!! Woohoo! The pools were clean & lifeguards on duty really did pay attention to what was going on and the amount of children there. I didn't see a lot of adults in the pools or slides. I did get in the pools with my daughter & we had a great time. The pool near our room was a big hang out spot during our stay. My daughter absolutely enjoy herself and so did I. There was convenient access to Disney and Sea World. We did use the pool, water park when we were there but we didn't get a chance to go to the arcade, restaurants or the free movie so I can't speak on those. But OUR ROOM WAS CLEAN & BUG FREE!! I added some pictures of the room etc (faces covered for privacy). The only thing I would say wasn't nice was part of the furniture was broke or water damage..not sure. I posted a pic of it. Date of service 8/6/17 I took my kids here for my 7yr old birthday and it was amazing. check in was a little long and I had booked my reservation with a 3rd party in which was okay I was just surprised by the deposit fee in which I advise the rep at coco key that I was not informed she stated that they are aware of customers not being informed of deposit. informed her that should also be something listed on the itinerary confirmation along with the resort fee instead of only relying on a sales rep to inform customers especially if this is a major issue that the company have. Although check-In is at 4PM you may call they reservation line and do a pre check-in or at the location so you can enjoy the water park early while waiting on a room. The room was nice, clean and spacious. The hotel also have a general pool area with a heat Jacuzzi and that area closes at 10pm Water park hrs during the time I went closed at 9pm and the min height was 48in for all slides. resort also have a game room which closed at 12am The Bar area also had decent prices there are other places to eat that is within walking distance from the hotel upon discharge you may also stay and enjoy the your remaining time at the water park. Run far away from this dump they call a resort! DO NOT stay here unless you don't mind roaches. This resort seriously should be shut down. If I could rate zero stars I would. Where do I start....first I'll speak on the one good experience I had and that was the dinner at the Callaloo Grille restaurant. My son really loved the lemon pepper wings. Unfortunately I was sold a bag of expired chips. The Tradewinds breakfast restaurant looked awful. I walked in and walked right back out. The food looked as if it was all frozen and microwaved and placed on the hot bar. Now on to the reasons why you should not stay at this resort. As soon as I walked into my room I noticed a dead roach in the corner of the room. I'm extremely OCD so I always disinfect and change the sheets to new ones that I purchase before arriving. My first night there I woke up with a roach in the bed next to me. Also my comforter smelled like urine as if someone peed on it and they tried to wash it out but failed. I immediately went to the front desk to speak with a manager to get a new comforter. My second night there I woke up with a roach crawling on the headboard above me and one on the floor. Thank god I only stayed there for two nights. I had to shake my suitcase out in the lobby in fear of taking a roach back to DC with me because I don't live in filth. And last but not least, the pool water is warm all throughout the resort. Save your money and DO NOT stay here. read more
