    Wedding reception

Our wedding reception at Coco Palm was absolutely unforgettable. From the very beginning of the planning process to the day of our celebration, the entire team made us feel welcomed, supported, and truly cared for. We especially want to recognize Elizabeth, the event sales manager, for being absolutely phenomenal throughout the entire process. She was patient and incredibly helpful with our countless questions, always taking the time to provide guidance, coordinate with other vendors, and make sure we felt confident every step of the way. Elizabeth went above and beyond to ensure we were well taken care of and that all of our expectations were not only met, but exceeded. The venue itself was beautiful, the atmosphere was perfect, and the attention to detail helped create the wedding reception we had always dreamed of. Our guests couldn't stop talking about how wonderful the space was, how smoothly everything flowed, and how welcoming the staff was throughout the evening. The food was an experience we'll never forget and we truly appreciated having a taste testing appointment, this was such a nice experience for us. Coco Palm provided us with the perfect setting to celebrate our love and begin this new chapter as husband and wife. We are so grateful to everyone who played a role in making our wedding day so special, especially Elizabeth for her kindness, professionalism, and dedication. Thank you, Coco Palm, for helping us create memories that we will cherish forever.

We came for a work event at 4pm and had the patio to ourselves. That was nice but we didn't have enough tables or chairs so we had more chairs brought out. The patio has a plastic sheeting covering the whole area which made it like a sauna. We couldn't feel any breeze and with about 25 adult bodies, it got hot! Very limited service. We had to go to the bar to get our drinks including our water. When I ordered drinks at the bar, I asked for a Jack and Coke. I got a well whiskey instead of Jack Daniels without even being asked if that would be ok. Which wasn't the greatest. We had shared appetizers which was tasty. But I wasn't much in the mood for eating, since it was too hot. If I were to come back, I definitely wouldn't sit on the patio! And come back at night when you have views of city lights vs the freeway and everyone in traffic trying to get home.

This is my second time going to Coco Palm, but only my first review for them. I've come here for a graduation event for myself and for a work outing. Yes, you go past two gates in order to find the parking lot for the restaurant! Ample parking. There is valet parking available on busy days! I was mainly here for their drinks the night I went and don't recall what I've eaten at the graduation party. Their plantain chips were decent along with their dip. Their empanadas were average and I think their calamari was good but not the best. Nick had made our drinks the whole night and he was awesome! He had a good sense of humor and kind service. I had ordered IPAs and tried their guava margarita. The prices are high, but sensical for the view you get peeking out towards the 10 freeway. I noticed an area for photos especially if you're graduating or hosting an event. I'd recommend coming if you've never been before.

This place was an overall 9/10 Service was a little bit on the slower side, but there was only two servers it seemed like. Food was amazing, definitely had to wait 30 minutes for everything but it was cooked perfectly. Parking you have to pay for just fyi. Beautiful scenery

Solid 3.5 but good enough to round up to 4. I've been here for both brunch buffet and dinner. Brunch is just ok but $50 per person isn't terrible for what it is. Besides, you can't beat the view. I do prefer dinner here. The plantain chips here are the best around. Ceviche is good, calamari wasn't crunchy, but the green sauce is good. For mains the oxtail (rabo encendido) is good and super tender. Chimichurri steak (churrasco) is good but mine was a little overcooked. Slow roasted pork (lechon asado) was flavorful but a little tough and chewy. Palella was good but nothing wow. For dessert we got the cheesecake and flan both were mid. Service was just ok, didn't come around very often and when we ordered a bottle of wine didn't offer is a tasting pour. The wine was also very hot. "Room temp" in California on a 100° day is too warm. Parking here is valet only and they charge $8. Overall this place has great views, mid to good food, and mid service.

Finally revisited Coco Palm after 10 years. In fact, I completely forgot it existed as if I'd never been. Anyway, it was good to be back because my friend and I were in mood for brunch, but didn't want to wait until Sunday to go to our usual spot. Well, I think this is going to be our new usual spot moving forward now. There's a great selection of items to choose from, but my favorite that I kept loading up on every time I got up were the oxtails. I LOVE oxtail and it was so delicious here. Very tender and flavorful. The prime rib here is cooked perfectly to my preference. The outer part of it was packed with flavor and salt which I love. Yes, it's a bit salty but the rest of the meat is pretty neutral in flavor, so it's a nice balance in my opinion. Huge fan of the chicken noodle soup too. It's simple and reminds me of homestyle cooking. Very comforting! I could use a bowl right about now. I especially liked that the crab legs were already cut in half. I hate working for my seafood. The shrimp was also the ez peel type, so you can just peel the shell right off instead of having to dig into each one. Service was great. I forgot bro's name, but he was friendly and pleasant to talk to. The views were amazing (obviously). I enjoyed watching the traffic flow on the 10. Only downside is that it's valet ONLY and at the time of this review, it was $8. Anyway, at $47 per person this was absolutely worth it. Great selection, delicious food, nice views. What's not to like? I will be back in the near future for sure!

The drinks were probably the best thing. But, everything was pretty good. Exploradora - 3.7 The calamari was good, the croquettes were good. The empanadas were good. No complaints the exploradora was a nice way to start the meal. Parrillado de Carne 3.5 This was a platter of meat. It was so many different cuts that it was cooked a little inconsistent. But, it was still nice and we did enjoy it. Paella Valenciana 3.3 Of course, the seafood was nice. They had some big shrimp that was cooked nice in there. I like the crab meat that came with it. It was missing the crunchy texture of the bottom of the rice, but it was still enjoyable. Drinks - 4.5 I thought both drinks were really enjoyable.

I wanted to take my daughter to a nice sit down dinner date and wanted a view. You will be better off inside than outside to enjoy this view away from the busy freeway noise and if you're not tall enough, good luck enjoying a view looking above the patio rail. The food was deliciously prepared. Our salmon and steak was juicy and not dry. The yucca fries paired with the garlic dip was soo good. Our service was attentive and food came perfectly timed to satisfy our hunger. I'm looking forward to trying their Paella next time. And Brunch as I was told is great here on saturdays and sundays. Reservations highly recommended for the brunch. Great food and service and would not mind coming back to try more.

This was an ok place overall . I wish it was better as it has a lot of potential, but it did not do justice. The food was bland and the service was not good. They did not pay attention at all. We asked for napkins, straws etc twice and never got them. They never checked in to see if we needed anything the entire time. The restaurant overall was outdated . Older everything. The windows were not clean, bathrooms were dirty , and food was nothing to impress. I won't go back here and will not recommend anyone

The food here was really good! I really enjoyed the tomahawk steak. It came out a little burnt on the outside when we ask for medium. They were really good about redoing our steak and when they came back out with it, the doneness was perfect. The empanadas were also good and the drinks were yummy! The server kept coming back to check up on us. The restaurant was not as busy when we came in for lunch, it was quiet and it left us a lot of time to have good conversations.

We celebrated a birthday on 7/4. Hostess gave us a nice seat to take in the view. Staff was friendly and attentive. Everything was delicious. Appetizers: Chicken/beef empanadas and fried calamari, both great. Salad was a generous size, fresh, cold and crisp served with both ranch and blue cheese dressing Tasty. The perfectly cooked filet Mignon was excellent too. We received a complimentary dessert Flan that ended the meal sweetly. We are Looking forward to another visit.

This was my second time to dine in Coco Palm . It's a beautiful restaurant seated on top of Pomona hills. The view at night was fantastic. The service was good. The food we ordered was delicious. Started with fried calamari and lectin pork belly with yucca . Our main entree's were Pork Lechon Braised oxtail Filet mignon Black Angus strip steak Avocado salad For dessert the cheese cake and chocolate lava cake. Overall it was a very nice, tasty meal.

I have had the pleasure to try their Curry Chicken Bowl $13 (Lunch Special), Jerk Bowl $13 (Lunch Special), Jerk Burrito $13.50, and a Curry Chicken "Mama's Pattie" $4.50. My favorites have got to be their Curry Chicken Bowl and I'll order this time and time again. Its just a staple. It has a great kick to it and has a complex blend of spices that is layed with a smoky, savory, and sweet undertone. I keep taking bites just to experience the flavors over and over again. Their Jerk Burrito is also the first I've tried and another dish I'd order again. It has their spicy, smoky Jamaican jerk chicken with rice, beans, wraped in a tortilla and everything comes together nicely. Their prices are great for their portion size, too! Chicken was soooo tender and had a smoky flavor to it. The cabbage was seasoned well and rice was cooked perfectly. Mac and cheese plate was super weak in my opinion - I was expecting the Mac and cheese you get at a back yard bbq. Lacked in cheese and flavor. Some edges had a nice cheese pull but for the most part it was just a lot of noodle. Would have loved to enjoy it with the short ribs per their advertisement - but they had ran out so we got some crispy wings. Portion is big - not sure on the how much it was though, as the menu wasn't priced. I would advise to pair your meal with one of their house-made specialty juices if you don't get a ginger beer! I had their pineapple-ginger, a Jamaican staple and goes so well with their cuisine. oh. GET THE PATTY. If all else fails, get the damn Jamaican patty. Beef and curry chicken are my favs. All of the patties are crispy, Flaky, and buttery. I was pleasantly surprised to know that these are the same patties served to you at none other than Simply Wholesome, in LA. A grand staple for the community. Savanna, helped us out for the evening and she was lovely and helpful! Would come back just for the customer service itself.

But it was more than the food; it was the service that made it so memorable. Our family had just arrived in Claremont for the first time; didn't know the area and were starving. Saw Inka Trails on Yelp and thought it looked good but it was about to close in 30 mins so we called to check if we could still make it. The lady who answered the phone was warm and welcoming, telling us to come on by. What followed was some of the most delicious food I've had, on par with Michelin-starred restaurants I have had the pleasured to dine at in Bangkok, San Sebastian, Paris...It was home cooking with the best ingredients - you can taste the freshness of the fish and vegetables and the fragrance of the herbs. Highly recommend the fish rice soup, the fried fish and fish stew in tomato broth. It was serious one of the best meals we have had. So the food was 5 stars, but what made me write this review was the owner Patty. She was warm and gracious. Asked us what brought us to Claremont and when we told her we were there to tour colleges, she was kind to share her insights on the school, experiences with the students, told us about safety and transits in the area. Remember this was all after the restaurant was already scheduled to be closed for the evening. We were never rushed and Patty was sincere and kind. As a frequent traveler and woman in business, I appreciate that. Pastrami sandwich with fries and an unsweetened iced tea First, the customer service at this small spot was great. Even though we ordered to go the cashier brought our drinks and food right to our table. Both sandwiches were top notch and muy delicioso. Cubano sandwich was filled with smoked grilled ham, Juicy roasted pork, cheese, pickles and pressed. It was served with the most amazing garlic aioli. I opted for the banana chips that were light and crispy and a perfect accompaniment to the sandwich. We also ordered a pastrami sandwich with fries. The fries were well seasoned and thin. Pastrami was so delicious however my only gripe is that it needed a touch more mustard. I shared some of my garlic aioli with my partner but hogged the rest for my other half of sandwich. Sandwiches were cooked to order, hot and fresh. The bread was soft with a slight crunch due to it being pressed. It was a very nice change from the usual burger or fried chicken fast food. We can't wait to go back !!

I get giddy when I find little treasures such as this. I had originally bookmarked this little…read moremarket because of their empanadas, but I found so much more. The market is small and cramped and packed to the gills with Latin American and Spanish goods. They have good looking produce, a nice big butchery, multiple freezers and refrigerators filled with specialty items that will make your brain work on overtime. The way the deli works for buying their prepared food is different from some. You must first place your order at the back counter. You will receive an itemized ticket which you must take up front to the cashier. Then, you return to the back to show your proof of purchase receipt and then you get your food, bagged and ready. The total wait for us was about 10 - 15 minutes, not bad. I get it, why they have to do it this way, but it is time consuming and inconvenient at best. We did get some empanadas. They are fried, not baked, so have an extra good crunch with every bite. There are two ground beef fillings, i.e. two different recipes. Three were the wonderful filling that has green olives (my favorite), and one that was described as spicy beef (that really was not all that spicy). Both were delicious, and their dough was flaky. This could easily become one of my favorite destinations for a reliable empanada. Besides the deli empanadas, there was a nice selection of empanada disc's (round pastry wrappers) in the freezer section if you are inclined to make and stuff them yourself, and frozen empanadas made by Goya in yet another freezer. I also convinced myself I needed to buy two tamales. One Guatemalan, the other Peruvian. These are sold frozen and are ordered at the deli counter. Haven't tried them yet, but I am excited because they are not so easy to find. Other products that caught my eye included a fascinating collection of sausages, chorizo, morcilla (blood sausage), Spanish linguiça, Spanish chorizo, smoked meats (Corte's brand), smoked herring, quail eggs, and other imported delicacies. Perhaps I will not need to drive all the way to La Española in Harbor City anymore for Spanish imports? They sell a very comprehensive list of Goya brand products and prepared foods. I grabbed a bag of ready to eat sweet plantains from the freezer as well. All so tempting. By the time I had perused the whole store and was headed to the cashier, my guard was completely down. There it was... freshly baked goods critically placed next to the cashier so you can't miss them. Soft crust baguettes and rolls in baskets, and small, sweet pastries and cookies in their bakery case. There were several pastries that looked very special, some featuring custard or quince filling. We, of course, had to buy some. I have already tested the one filled with the quince and topped with finely grated coconut. It was outstanding, not very sweet. The dough was lightly brushed with egg yolk for a rich, beautiful finish. These were super fresh and very tender. The baked goods are delivered fresh from an Argentinian bakery in Burbank. This is a great find! Not your usual small neighborhood grocery. I am very excited to return.

Parking is easy in the shopping center's lot. We specifically stopped in to buy a premium Argentinean butter that my wife was looking for. The young woman working at the cash register had an off-putting attitude when we asked about it and said that they were out of stock. We continued shopping and upon check out, an older gentleman (the owner, I believe) said that they did have it and went to the back and brought several out to my wife. Happiness was restored! They also had the Goya brand olives which we love, but other larger stores are no longer carrying. We also picked up some thin sliced Jamon Serrano for our next wine tasting charcuterie board. Overall, a nice little market, not too close to us, but if we lived nearby, I'm sure we'd visit regularly.
