This place is a must visit if only they have good customer service. Had a reservation for 5 and still have to wait for more than 30 minutes to be seated. I know it's a busy Sunday night but considering there was a reservation, we shouldn't wait that long. There were plenty of tables available as well. The reservation came with a note for a birthday celebration and was not even mentioned or acknowledged when we arrived. Once seated it took forever for our server to come and get our order. Had 3 trips to the salad bar before our food arrive. By then, we were full. Very slow service. Salad bar fall short as well, very limited choices. Although, the prime ribs still taste good. This restaurant used to be really nice but not anymore.

First time visiting and love their Sunday brunch buffet!! $49 for adult and $24 for children. You get carved prime rib, salad bar, soup, crab legs, cocktail shrimp, beef rib, cookies, variety of slices of cake (lemon, chocolate, strawberry cheesecake) and pudding / jello cups. There is also a separate area for Mexican dishes which I liked. Chilaquiles and can't forget unlimited refills of champagne and juice to make your mimosa. Their beef rib and prime rib is the perfect combo! Very satisfying! Would come back again!!

Sitting on the hill above Pomona is this rustic place that has an incredible salad bar, & soup station as well. The view is fantastic. I remember this place from wedding receptions and Christmas parties. So mid week sounded like a good deal. Hostess was friendly and accommodating. The server was very nice as well. Service was prompt and our drinks were good. My friend ordered a New York steak and I ordered the Baby back Ribs The meat from the ribs literally fell off the bone. I did not order any sides as the salad bar and soup were included.. The ribs were plenty and the steak would make just about any carnivore happy. The parking lot is spacious and it is very rustic. Once inside there are stairs. So if you have difficulty with stairs beware and go slow. Otherwise a great place for steaks and ribs!

We had dinner reservations for my mom's birthday and enjoyed a delicious dinner and had good service from a very friendly server! I would say the ambiance does not match the price point of the menu. There is no dress code, as many other tables were dressed in shorts, leggings, and even arrived with star pimple patches on their face. The food was cooked to our liking, but was not anything that was outstanding. I did write in on our reservation that we were celebrating a birthday but the hostess did not greet us with a happy birthday or relay the message to our server. Overall, the experience was okay but I prefer Texas Roadhouse.

Let me start off with the view, it was breathtaking! We came to eat at sunset one random Friday and were sat at a booth. Normally I don't expect much from the food when I know you're paying for a view but. Was pretty impressed how great the food tasted. It was a lovely night spent with great food and very attentive staff. We were well taken care of. Excited for their events that they wi be holding.

First time going to Pomona Valley Mining Co., and this review is based on my experience of the UCSC presentation workshop there. We went there with our daughter, and the venue was great. We had complimentary valet parking that day because UCSC paid for it. The ambiance is nice, and the view is beautiful. We first went downstairs to check out the university information, and then we had a self-serve buffet lunch upstairs. The banquet room is spacious. It had a lot of food on that day. Most of the food tasted great, except the beef was chewy. The event was well-organized, and they were very generous. The service was attentive that day. They took away my empty plate after I finished my lunch, and also refilled the iced tea and iced water. I would visit Pomona Valley Mining Co. for their dinner.

I've always been curious about this place on the hilltop whenever I pass it driving on the 10 fwy, and finally made it here for a celebration. While I'm glad I checked it off the list, the food was nothing to rave about. To be fair, the staff was great. The hostess and our server were super friendly and helpful. However, the food just wasn't anything special. I had the prime rib, filet mignon, and a baked potato. That said, it didn't ruin the night. I kind of went in with the mindset that you're paying for the vibe anyway. The old mining decor is unique and the view of the valley is nice. I think it's a good idea to come for a drink and the scenery, but maybe keep average expectations for the meal.

Returned to the mining company. Again, it's just mediocre. Nothing to write home about. Came on a rainy day so it was not as packed and there was plenty of parking. The size of the cup was interesting. Is this made for ants?

This was our first visit here, but we'll def be back! Neidenne was our server and she was the sweetest and so attentive. She was super helpful when it came to deciding what to get and answered all our questions. The food was all so good, I'll definitely be dreaming about the prime rib tonight.

Came here for the Mother's Day brunch and it was definitely worth it. A lot of food options and a lot of desserts. Minus one star because I feel like the hostess was a bit unprofessional. It's mother's day and I'm there with my mom and he says "you here for anything special?" And "yeah it's just a like of walking in here it kind of sucks" He was a young kid. But it's still unprofessional to mention something that "sucks" plus come on It's Mother's Day. Why do you think two women are there lol

My first time ever coming to Pomona Valley Mining Co which is literally located right off the freeway. I have seen their huge sign many times but just never got around to coming here. I went here early for a Sunday Brunch which is an all-you-can-eat buffet style. There are many separate sections around the entire place. It is rustic and looks like a dark wooden mine. There is a dessert section, hot meats, and a salad area. Overall I did find that the food was pretty good. With many different items that you can get. You can also get a freshly made omelet from the chefs or carved out meats as well. Oh yeah also make a reservation because this place is quite busy on Sunday! Enjoy :)

Not my favorite buffet, but not the worst one I've been to either. The perennial offering of prime rib was very good as was the omlette station taking a request to make my Up Easy eggs sunny and runny with the best of restaurants. But the biscuits and gravy, miner potatoes, and ham was very poor. The waffles and simple chafing dish scrambled eggs, but that's very routine stuff for a buffet. The service was great though. The free mimosas and juices were provided quickly, and the dirty plates were getting cleared as fast as they piled up. They even took special requests like Bloody Mary's like champs. Lastly, I thought the ambience was fair. I found the hallways too tight and inconvenient. I also thought the layout of the buffet stations confusing and ill-planned. They should've all been grouped together more tightly, or even have a dedicated dining room set aside from them instead of so spaced out. I almost didn't know there were three locations--like a scavenger hunt--to the buffet. I also found the mining theme kitschy and inauthentic as they very easily could've had the actual decor from mining outfits shipped in. In summation, this was a good approximation of a nice buffet but there were many areas it could have been approved. I probably won't be back.

I loved the kaleslaw and might just order a side of that the next time I am here for to-go! The Branzino with Chili Sauce was not what I expected. I had expected spiciness, but it was a bit more on the sweet spicy side for me. There was either no A/C or it was not strong enough but they had a huge industrial fan on while we enjoyed our lunch. Service was very attentive and provided good customer service. The parking lot was a bit packed for a Friday afternoon, but we were both able to find parking near the restaurant. Overall, I would return but not when the 90+ degree weather since it could be really stuffy in there, and one does leave smelling like grease.

Ravioli (9/10): I didn't know you can put beef inside ravioli until today. I always thought ravioli is filled with cheese. Starter bread (9.7/10): It is crunchy and airy at the same time. It tastes exceptionally good with the salted butter they provide. It is also free and refillable Red beets salad (8.5/10): I actually don't know the real name. I just remember the red beets taste really good. Daily special seafood (9/10): Also a bit on the oily side but their ingredients are fresh. I really love their shrimps. Tiramisu (6/10): Not the best tiramisu I had because it is more liquid. The server says they never add rum to it. Prosciutto e Burrata (8/10): I was expecting more from this dish but it tastes pretty basic. Nothing special or impressive.

I have been coming to Vincenzos since before they moved to this location. The location itself is…read morefine. Sometimes a little stuffy due to the historical building it's in. I would be willing to forgive these things were it not for the declining quality in customer service from the hostess. I have been knowing the hostess, maybe she's the manager/owner too since even before they moved. Many happy memories were had in the previous location and she also seemed in much better spirits back then. Food quality has gone down. The prices are reasonable, however. But you walk in and are asked if you have a reservation. If you say yes, much joy! If you say no, it's like you've created a major inconvenience for them. Myself and wife have sat in the little bench waiting to be seated and we can definitely tell that reservation guests get treated much nicer than walk-ins. My advice is do not walk-in, make a reservation if you want to try this place. The spark is gone and I don't know who's in charge now but there are other better, much more customer service oriented places, around La Verne.

Unfortunately, this place was disappointing in pretty much every category…read more Food: The food itself was very bland and lacked flavor. They give you a lot of different salsas to choose from, which is nice, but the flavor should already be in the food--not something you have to create yourself with salsa. The marlin tostada tasted more like tinga than marlin. The mixta was watery and didn't have any noticeable lime or freshness to it. Overall, the seafood just didn't have the flavor I was expecting. Service: Service was extremely slow. It took forever for someone to come over and take our food order, and then we waited even longer for the food to actually arrive. Ambience: The atmosphere also felt off. The music was mostly pop and rock, which didn't really match the banda/norteño atmosphere you'd expect from a place like this. When you walk in, it also feels like everyone turns around and stares at you, which made it a little uncomfortable. The biggest issue was that in the middle of our meal, we were asked to move tables because a larger family was coming in. That was really inappropriate. Once customers are seated and already eating, they shouldn't be inconvenienced to accommodate another party. Between the bland food, slow service, uncomfortable atmosphere, and being moved during our meal, the overall experience just wasn't good. Unfortunately, I wouldn't come back based on this visit.

Prices are very reasonable for all of the stuff on the menu. Place looks like it's stuck in the 80's or 90's and only like 5 tables inside, but if they're making good food, I see no reason to change. Asian lady who I assume is Kitty was also really friendly. Shouldn't eat fried stuff too often, but I think I'll make an exception and come here when I'm craving some fish and chips.
